S.I. Jinx-Schminx. Stats-schmats. Win — Win is what this team does and I had to get a post off tonight because I can’t wait to read the papers tomorrow and see what writers are jumping on the bandwagon now.
A helping of Crow should be served around town for the non-believers and I’ll be the first at the plate with my prediction early on. It a good thing I’m typing because it’s not polite to talk with your mouth full of bird.
) Mumble-mumble.
My hats off to Coach McDaniels and I had a HUGE smile on my face when he did a little fist waving at the end of the game … still have that smile writing this. Beating your mentor really means a lot and he handled it with class and a little fun for the fans … thanks coach. CONGRATS.
ORTON, wazuuuuuuuuupppppp????? Wow, bro, you were on fire and without the glove. Heard the stats but don’t remember them and don’t care. Brady lookalike. And you didn’t even let him back on the field for OT… HA!!! LOVE IT!!!!
HOT-HOT-HOT!!! I thought the the penalties would be our downfall, but not these guys. Fight and fight and fight till the end.
I know you Coop-blogsters are ready to roll SO WHAT DID YOU THINK??? WOW!! 5-0.
Bring it Rivers.

GO BRONCOS !!!!!!!!!1
Loved to hear today’s McD press conference when he talked about the majority of the horrible mistakes by the ST that I listed in my 12:25 pm post, just a reinforcement I hadn’t been hallucinating.
Orton and the boys did awesome! just took a little time to gel, now the glove is off and it looks like the zip is back in his throws.
Defense was playing like ORANGE CRUSH! We beat a really good team and made them make mistakes.
Punt teams needs to work mistakes, could have cost us the game. I about croaked when we ran into the punter and then we jumped later in the drive. Mc D will fix it
Time to start thinking about the chargers now.
GREAT TEAM EFFORT
GO BRONCOS
5-0
McD is showing what he is made of and I would not criticise him for any of his play selections, not even the wild horses. Everything he does is for a reason.
Kyle Orton is obviously a very capable QB and is the kind of QB that McD likes, hardworking, meticulous, unflappable, patient and efficient. So whilst he is not spectacular he is someone you can rely on to do a very good job the team. He is above all a team player and the person who makes the offense gel. McD is very happy with all his players, but not with any of the stupid mistakes they make. So don’t worry about all the bad mistakes, McD knows about all of them and will be taking action to improve all aspects of the team.
So at 5-0 who is confident that the team can now get into the post season? Some people will need to revise their predictions.
McDan Dare, McD himself says he makes plenty of mistakes coaching and wants to improve from game to game, you put him above that, that is not constructive, it’s just blind faith. There are plenty of calls he can improve on just like any coach in the league, he just happens to be better than most, but he’s not to be thought of as the gospel, just our coach, human makes mistakes just like the rest of the world.
WOW what a game!! I can’t wait to see on NFL network(i am sure they will replay it)
They had had a replay of our game against Dallas, they will surely have a replay of this one. This game was one for the memory books.
Orton was calm, cool and collective… smooth and crisp passes… more completions… the man was on a roll yesterday. Playing without the glove definitely improved his game. He’s got fire and passion and that will take him far in his career. He just needed someone like McD to really believe in him, coach him, mentor him and stick with him. They’ve come along way and their progress does all the talking. You can tell they’ve worked hard to improve and it is all paying off.
The beauty of all our mistakes is knowing we can do better, that we have so much room for more improvement, which means we will only get better. McDenver said it himself. We had too many mistakes yesterday but they can be corrected, they can be avoided and we can only go forward from here. In McD’s system, taking a step back is not an option. He only sees us improving more and more, and I love that he thinks that way. He’s showing faith and trust in this team and that’s what they’ve needed for so long. Someone who works with them, shows discipline but also believes they are capable of being high-caliber team. McD has certainly brought new light to this team.
Keep the faith Bronco Country…
GO BRONCOS!!!!
well put 07elway… McD believes in Orton… We will go far
I said this team would be 5-11 and I hated McDaniels and the cutler trade.
I wanted to man up on that I think the team is the surprise story of the league. I am so happy as a fan since 1977.
Norv Turner is the worst coach in the league the chargers stink.
Go Broncos.
bones 1965, it takes a big man to come clean, I respect you for that, I have been a fan since 75 and, having been a businessman most of my life, I always stick with upper management decisions. I was a grand supporter of the Shanny firing, message had gotten stale, players didn’t respond any longer and discipline was inexistant. I was also for Bowlen letting Reeves go which turned out eventually winning us a super bowl. I also was excited about the McD hiring and thought he had no choice but letting Cutler go the minute Jay said I’ll stay if Bates remains, one boss per team please. It’s no bull, those have been my feelings about it this off season, so we have been on opposite sides of the spectrum, but I gladly answer your post, where you came out as you said, like a man. Welcome…
I was so proud of how well the offense played this game. It was Orton’s best game so far. Great to see how well he can throw the ball without the ball. Still worried about KM and the fumbling, however but I’m sure he and the coaches will fix that. San Diego always plays us tough. It’s revenge time for the beating they gave us last year!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!
Without the glove I mean, not the ball. lol!
I’m smiling as I write this, Coop. We’re 5-0 and hopefully by this time next week (late Monday evening, October 19, we’re 6-0!) We do so much well. You could only imagine how dominant we can become when we clear up those mistakes McDaniels always cites at the press conference. Thanks for your efforts and as always, GO BRONCOS!!!
Broncfalls and baylinorcrush and a few others, I like Hillis up the middle better than Moreno. LOVE Moreno a ton but I like him on the edges and in the screens and catching the ball on the run.
That’s my thoughts but Coach liked him enough to go his way. Be interesting to see if that happens again..I’m betting..NOT. My guess. I like a bigger back (personally) like Hillis but we’re not getting much todate.
I blogged that turnovers would be the determining factor before the game and like many of you as the game wore on the penalties (dumb penalties) were driving me crazy and I thought that would end up killing us. Off sides, running into the kicker, etc. AHHHHHHH!!!
Great game though, and you never wanted to leave your TV set or your seat if you were there. I didn’t have all the stats Sunday night after the game, so thanks, I knew I could count on the group to post most of them in your blogs and I didn’t really need them, or care after watching that show.
You guys/gals are all on fire, GREAT COMMENTS and fun to read..many new comers and WELCOME. You’ll find this group well informed, opinionated and passionate.
Think the Bolts are wondering “What the Heck”. Friday night will be here before we know it.
Liked the coaches interview and your comments. This an exciting time to be a Broncos Fan. Enjoy and think beat the Bolts and pound Rivers (can you tell I’m not a Rivers fan).
Doom should handle that for us. CRUSH THE BOLTS.
P.S. on another note, another great Monday Nighter…Fins beat the Jets in a crazy game (tennis match style) exchanging leads.
Great game on Sunday, great win.
Although it’s not likely the Broncos go undefeated this season, after this game there can be little doubt, in spite of all that’s happened in this hectic off-season:
Josh McDaniels is going to be one heck of a Head Coach.
Bring on the Chargers!
I’m so impressed with this team. With all the changes and adversity during the offseason, and then to start 5-0 in the regular season is just amazing. Probably one of the most amazing feats in all of sports right now.
The Defense really started things off for us, and our offense was a little shaky. But wow, now the offense is catching up to speed too. The rest of the league better watch out!
One thing I was disgruntled about was that we weren’t using eddie royal or brandon marshall enough. They fixed that. The other area on offense that I’m confused on, is why don’t we use Peyton Hillis on those tough 3rd and inches to pound it in there for a first down, or a touchdown?
Other than that, what more can you ask for? This team is solid from ST, Offense, and defense. There are minor quirks that can easily be fixed. Keep getting better guys!
Coop, tennis match style! LOL. I saw that game and I have to say I never saw anything like it in the NFL in the 4th quarter. The way the landsharks kept going down the field I swear I thought I was in the twilight zone, you don’t even see offenses operate like that in College, that wild cat is so wild it bewildered the Jets right into a loss.
Huge Win, Denver fought all game and got the job done. I must admit I did not think we would be 5-0. I did however think we a had a chance to win our division and we can put a strangle hold on the division with win on MNF. This game is more important then the Patriots game. San Deigo has dominated Denver in recent years and it is time for payback. Go Broncos D shutdown the Bolts.
Baylinorcrush – Thanks for your advice and pointing out my error, I agree with you
The best part of the ‘wild horses’ is that the Bolts don’t know what to expect and are going to have to over-prepare for the Broncos O. They’ll be tired mentally from having to think of the different options coming at them.
This works in our favor greatly!!!
I was a little disappointed in our D just because I wanted to see DOOM standing over Brady the whole game, but that is my only complaint. It’s pretty rare to see a team have that many dumb penalties against a solid team like the patriots and not loose. Credit going to the D for getting the ball back each time. Just like a good dog bringing back the stick and waiting for you to throw it again!! (Dawkins is a MONSTER!!!)
LT seems to be a class act, but lets make him sit out the rest of the season!!!
GO BRONCOS!!!
coach nolan needs to take a good look at the right side cb. watching the game sunday I saw some missed tackles that should have gone for no gain or a short gain but ended up being long gains. seemed to me he was afraid to tackle. did anyone else see what I saw or am I just imagining what I saw?
broncofan2639, Goodman is the right CB, I saw him miss badly on a tackle at the line of scrimmage and I’m not sure how he performed other than that other than the ball was never really thrown his way, but it seems quite a few long runs and screens went his way. He is probably a better cover guy than a tackler, not everybody can do both great like Bailey does. However he has played well so far, specially in the Raider game on all the long balls, so I won’t be quick to say there is a problem there yet. Something to keep an eye on, but he was great in Miami last year and with the start he’s had here, I don’t see why he would all of a sudden become a liability.
So happy to be 5-0!
Our defense with three 3 and outs on the same drive! Props to Vonnie for coming up big on that sack/fumble. Congrats to KO for AFC Offensive Player of the Week! Our whole team deserves props. What a great game and a fantastic finish! GO BRONCOS
baylinorcrush, I feel that if a player gets paid the kind of money they pay Goodman he should beable to do both tackle when need be & cover when need be. I also saw a pass that Brady over threw to Moss in the endzone with Goodman the cover guy & when Brady hit the receiver on the foot Goodman was also the cover guy. If both passes were completed they would have been TD’s. A professional football player should be consistent in all games. When we played the Raiders he was on a rookie.
COOP!
Thanks for the post,
The Broncos are right were I thought they would be, and everybody said I was crazy. Call it blind faith, call it lucky, call it what you will, but Here we are and I think we have some new believers… I commend those who have admitted they were wrong Welcome to the Wagon, The Broncos can use all the friends They can get.
Let’s hope The Wildhorses formation can pull this Wagon full of Fans to The Playoffs.
I only have one complaint other than the obviouse penalties.
That hit Dawkins put on Welker was clearly a spear and a cheap shot. I hope that Never happens again. The Broncos don’t need that kind of reputation.
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
And by the way it’s beautiful up here in Steamboat right now!
The fall colors, the moss in the Yampa River is starting to die, the Browns , Brookies, Pike and Rocky Mountain White fish are becoming really active. The mornings have been cold but not making snow just yet. It’s a great time to be here.
baylinorcrush:
Very few cornerbacks are, at best, mediocre tacklers. Dionne Sanders couldn’t tackle his own mother if she was on crutches. Goodman’s tackling abilities aren’t great, but, if a corner has to make a tackle on a running play, that means the DL and LB’s didn’t do their jobs.
oldsouthstander, thanks for the reinforcement.
oldsouthstander, I agree with you about Sanders. Sanders was not a team player. Everybody has to back up each other. If the DL & LB’s missed the tackle then who is left the CB’s & S’s. The CB’s & S’s have to come up & make a tackle. That’s called team work. Champ does all the time & so does Dawkins. All I’m saying is everyone has a job to do whether it is covering a receiver or making a tackle everyone has to work together. I very happy where the Broncos are now & I think they are going to get better. Surprised but Happy.
i have been hearing from the critics that brady has been off his game, but that just drives me crazy, how come it can be we did what we had to do to stop him in his track. we have been playing 60 minutes football and that is what making us win, hopefully after we win at sd and be 6-0 the critics will notice we are not the broncos of last year, we can hang in there with the best of them. but im going to stop now, i just love what my broncos are doing right now, bring another win home!!! this is another big win for us they are playoff contenders, we need to show that we can be contenders too!!!
60 minutes of football go broncos!!!
Coop, allways good to hear from you. I am suprised to be 5-0, but not shocked. It takes a lot of luck (made and random) to have enough things fall into place to have a chance at 5-0 and then you have to play solid, smart, physical football to actually go 5-0. This team has, and the scarry part of it is that this team has a long ways to go before it comes close to its potential.
The one thing that worried me was the penalties. We will see more penalties like that now and then through the remainder of the season, it happens with all new schemes and immigration of many new players. Supprising part is that we haven’t seen as much of those types of mistakes as you would see on other teams with so many new players.
I wouldnt mind being a fly on the wall in chargers film sessions to see the look on their faces when they realize that cant count on Cutler giving them the extra chances to beat us that he used to and that the def is outright scary and still improving.
Heres to improving Rivers complexion with a little (or better yet, a lot) of turf green.
Hey guys….dont forget about Jack Williams. He made a great play from the slot when NE tried to do that WR screen to Welker. He was on him in a flash and made a great open field tackle for a loss. Alphonso Smith has made some similar plays. Hopefully that’s a sign of good things to come from them.
Speaking of DBs….ours will have a good test from Philip “cry me a” Rivers Monday. Whether they like it or not…they are a passing team…a one dimensional team. They are dead last in rushing YPG this year. LT who?? However, they are very good at throwing the deep ball. They like to test the the middle of the field. I hate to say it but Rivers can make any throw and is very accurate deep. They have big WRs. They try to isolate the safeties to get a favorable matchup and stretch the field. I know our boys are up to the test. I see an opportunity for Doom to get at least 2 sacks. Just getting to know the enemy a little here….with every game I get more excited. I think we’ll crush ‘em.
MONODONO: 2 things….
1. I agree with you about that hit/speer that B-Dawk did we do not need that sort of attention and I really hope that was an unintentional mistake…love his fire and leadership though. His intensity is best seen from the stadium on gameday….his motor never stops.
2. I am totally jealous and want to come and catch the fish you are talking about. I guess if the browns are biting now that means they are finished with thier spawn…good news. I love to hear fishing reports. Thinking of going up to the Blue River this weekend.
Cant wait ’til Mon….
GO BRONCOS!!!! South Stands Forever!!! The Orange Crush Lives!!
….for got my prediction
24-17 Broncos
raidrhadr, I agree with ya I hope it was an unintentional mistake and Dawkins is a great motivator and a true Leader, let’s hope it does’nt happen again.
Also I believe it’s still pre spawn and they are all just collecting together and you see the females doing those bellie flops to break thier row lose, very active on a lure. Also the white fish haven’t made thier run up fish creek yet (thats awesome to watch). come up check it out.
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
Phillip Rivers is a good QB with no class. I agree he is a cry baby & I hope the Broncos are in his face thru the hole game, but we still have to watch for the run. Broncos 6-0 after monday night. Bronco fan since 65. Go Broncos.
COOP,
Just thought I’d mention something on my second favorite subject. The Denver Broncos have controlled the TIME OF POSSESSION three out of five times this year equalling all of last years control of TIME OF POSSESSION. The two games The Denver Broncos didn’t control the TIME OF POSSESSION were against cincy w/ Cedric Benson and dallas w/ Marion Barber, coincidence? I don’t think so, these two guy’s are top five running backs with good offensive linmen in front of them and I hope The Denver Broncos and Knoshon Moreno, can be just like them in the future.
If The Denver Broncos can clean up some mistakes and continue to control the TIME OF POSSESSION and play good Defense they will go far.
One more thing I was surfin the channels tonight and turned on TNA wrestling (Between baseball and The AV’s, GO AVALANCHE ! ! !) and saw Kurt Angle was wearing red, white, and blue verticle striped socks and I LMAO! It seems The Denver Broncos have influenced some people and maybe they will be instyle soon. Hehee!
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
HAHAHAHAHA…yp been waiting to hear TOP form you….and you making us all jealous at how pretty Steamboat is right now.
Also, a few moonwalkers in here and a few other crow eaters….I admit, I’m one of them…mines mud duck…munmble mumble…but a few moonwalkers “I, uh uh, well, you know. I mean. I thought” it’s O.K. I won’t call you out.
I know this may sound weird but sometimes guys just duck their heads and it looks like a spear but they’re just protecting themselves. I’ve done it cutting a guy and tackling on a interception. Sometimes it’s hard to avoid. I don’t condone it.
Mondono, you’re just wishing the old styles come back so you can pull some of your old hip hugger-bell bottoms or leisure suits out again huh?
)
Hey, hey what’s with the crybaby QB comments on this Blog??? I almost got run out of town from some of the bloggers when I said that about Cutler at ROAST?? wasssuupppp??
)
Oh by the way Y’all, I’ve been killing my Cowboys neighbor everytime I see him of late…toooo funny.
Got a good one for you. November 7th I’ll be doing a radio show in the Keys called “Jocks on the Rocks”, with Gary Dunn former noseguard for the Steelers. He’s a good buddy and we’ll have a lot of fun and I’ll get you all the radio station info in case your bored to death before the game and want to listen in. He and I do a few shows in the Keys each year before tournaments (will do one another Friday night) before the Monday night one too.
I’m certain it will be outrageous as we get after it quite a bit and after each other too. Some good stories and laughs.
MONDAY NIGHT under the lights….Look out RIVERS!!
COOP!
I never put my leisure suits away.
COOP! and they grind out another win!
HAHA!! CATCH YOU ON THE NEXT POST
