Coaching and Game planning

December 14th, 2011 - 8:45am by mark_cooper

Not enough credit has been handed out to this coaching staff. Changing the offensive scheme in the middle of a season….are you kidding me? Changing the game plan, week to week, quarter to quarter, play to play, situation to situation. If you had any idea (and some do) how tough that is week to week let alone the fact that this staff has to do it on the run during the game because the defense hasn’t seen enough film of these sets and reads to have it figured out, you would have a whole different appreciation for these comments.

The quarterback gets TOO much credit when things go good and TOO much heat when things go bad, promise. You know this. But Coach Fox should get coach of the year with these changes alone. He’s in charge.

This team is way ahead of the curve in comparison to the shape I thought it was left in from McDaniels. That’s called coaching too by the way. As you can tell I can’t say it enough, seriously. I’m impressed. So impressed, that think about this, we add a few more players on D this coming year and some depth and what do we have? A shut-down defense like we have never seen here and you have only watched in the past with the Ravens and Steelers of yesteryear.

What’s best is Tebow is getting better and better every week. I see baby steps and that’s all anyone can ask. It’s also fun watching all the so called EXPERTS sidestepping and coming up with new wording about how they feel about Tebow. It’s kind of fun watching some crow being served to these EXPERTS. :o )
Patience has paid off and if you’ve been on here long enough, I said this would play out and take its course, so yea, I’m patting myself on the back and also listening to all the Snap! Snap! Snap! out there. You know what that is? All those ankles breaking as folks jump on the bus that weren’t on a while back. Tooooo funny!!!

GO BRONCOS!!!

If Packers don’t go undefeated then Fox has a shot at coach of the year.

I think it’s safe to say that we’ve gone from taking baby steps to regular steps, or maybe even big steps, including Tebow. It’s amazing the pace at which this team is progressing and I honestly can say that it’s not baby steps anymore, but make sure not to start jumping steps, haha.

And easy big boy, you also told us things would take their time with McD and work out, LOL.

If I’m the Denver Broncos, I draft the following positions in the draft, in this order: CB, DT, FS and SS, RB, QB.

  5. savinghyrule says:

    Oh, and O-line too. lol

  6. baylinorcrush says:

If I’m the Denver Broncos I wait until the season if fully said and done and also take care of details like who we are gonna retain and who we are gonna acquire before the draft in FA before I even think about setting up a draft order.

  7. shaztah says:

WOW thanks Coop! I feel like my voice matters. LOL

I figured that part was a given bay haha

Is there a specific time table for football operations after this season is over? I mean, do they take 4 months off or the draft first, then free agency and then training camp? Is there a calendar or something? Just curious.

  10. baylinorcrush says:

Just killing time then… sounds good, I do that all the time too, LOL.

What a win fellas!!! One thing I’d like to point out is I loved the end around called for DT.. He had a few drops up to that point, and it seemed that once we just got the ball in his hands, it seemed to settled down..

This is a HUGE game, especially having a bunch of friends/family/co-workers who are Pats fans near me… I hope we can drag them into our style of game, but we all know about our hurting secondary vs. Brady, hopefully our pass rush will show up big time!!!

Great article Coop!!! It is inspiring to listen to your quarterback get up in his interview and give the thanks to the team for making him look better than he really is. Kudos goes out to the team, coaches and staff for putting this together the way that they have these last 7 weeks or so. It is a fun ride that I personally hope never stops.

With the improvement that this team is showing each and every week, the sky is the limit.

    Breaking News!!!!!

Merril Hodge is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery after having to undergo emergency surgery to remove a very large chunk of crows ass from his esophagus.

The doctor has recommended that Merril cut his crows ass in smaller chunks and chew well before swallowing. lol

    LOL orange

    *he seemed to settle down..

    Patriots 24
    Broncos 27

That’s good OC!!! There are a lot more on the table right beside him getting the same thing done. When our team wins this week, the rest of the naysayers will be there right along with them.

Man that’s good. I laughed myself right out of the chair!

Although Foxball can be grinding and perplexing at times, I wouldn’t want anyone different right now.

This team is more of a team than Ive ever seen in the NFL. Guys are playing beyond their skill level. Keep the cinderella story alive guys.

I was watching an old interview with analysts and it was about Aaron Rodgers right after he was drafted. The analysts were saying that he had a slow delivery and poor throwing mechanics. He also was supposed to not know how to read defenses. Oh what a difference a few years make. I was wondering is this due to familiarity, repitition and stability? I mean he throws to many of the same receivers every year. He also practiced with his throwing while not having the pressure of starting and being expected to do great right away. I honestly think that Tim can be a great passer in time. I also think that we need to keep the receivers that we have so that they can get the rythm and familiarity that Aaron has been blessed with.

    Coopster!!

Impressive win by Denver once again. Stressful but fun at the same time to see them pull off another miracle.

While I love every minute of it, its time for this team to start off strong & get on the board early and keep it up all game long. Make the other team have to fight back.

I want NE to be our 7th victim, would be HUGE for us. I know this TEAM can do it.

    GO BRONCOS 2011!!!!

Coop!!! I think Fox is coach of the year…period.

  22. strandoftds says:

Hey Coop, now thats a huge compliment in what your saying about are D in the now and the near future. I like what I hear. Rock On!!

  23. milehighmagic88 says:

Love the article Coop! I’ve been drooling over the way that Fox coaches from the very beginning, even when we were losing. I could tell this team was more prepared and motivated than they had been the last 4 or 5 years. So many people tell me it’s all Tebow and the coaching staff isn’t helping him any. Sorry, but that’s just not true. Tebow’s been excellent in this winning streak but you have to give credit to Fox and the rest of the staff. Glad to see Coop is on my side on this one, lol.

  24. baylinorcrush says:

The majority of the bloggers have been saying Fox is doing a great job, I’m not sure who are the ones who are not seeing it as you are saying, other than armadillo used to go there a lot, can’t really think of anyone else, at least the long time bloggers here. Just trying to clarify the overall feeling of the blog about Fox.

  25. baylinorcrush says:

Correcting myself, OC gave it all out to Fox at times also, but he’s turned around.

  26. baylinorcrush says:

I’m drinking some good brew right now and it’s clarified my memory, LOL.

    COOP!
I can’t help but look at the current TEAM and see so many similarities to TEAM’s of the past.
When I look at Joe Mays I see Randy Gradishar.
When I look at Woodyard I see Bob Swenson.
When I look at DJ, I think of Tom Jackson.
Take a look at Elvis and Von who do I think of? How about Lyle Alzado and Rulon Jones did you know that in 1980 Rulon Jones‘s rookie year He had 11.5 sack‘s? I wonder how many Von will get his rookie year?
    Look at Champ, Louis Wright.
Then Dawkins, I see Dennis Smith/Steve Atwater(you choose).
Ect. Ect…That’s just the D and the list really does go on and on but there is one person that has me romanticizing about TEAM’s of the past more than anyone else, and it’s Coach Fox.
Tell me if you think I’m wrong but doesn’t He remind you of Coach Red Miller?

Terry Frei wrote a book in 2008 called “77 Denver, The Broncos and a Coming of Age.”
I think Coach Fox and The Denver Broncos are writing a sequel.

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !

Orange_Crusher, loved the news on Hodge….funny.

Bay, send us some of that brew? And think they give MVP and Coach of the Year to the same team? Need to research that one to see if it’s happened before? Agree on strids as a Team but baby steps with Tebow…no different than when John E started.

Mondono, where’s the T.O.P. at? Won it last week.

shaztah, Tell me how much fun it’s been watching all the “EXPERTS” eat crow and back peddle and break ankles jumping on the bandwagon….ahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. monodono says:

    Hahaaa..
Ya your right COOP, but not in regulation time, The Broncos took the T.O.P. in OT. I’ll take it any way we can…

I gotta hand it to ya for praising The Staff. I really laid into Coach McCoy last year for not knowing how to run the ball and being pass happy. He really has opened His mind and play book, and it show’s.
Thank You Coaches McCoy and Gase. Keep running the ball espacially Early in the Game and on First Down’s no matter what kind of yardage you get.

So tell me COOP, does Coach Fox remind you of Coach Miller?

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !
