i also was amazed when hixon was left up for grabs. the biggest change in behavior for the broncos staff has been the knee jerk decision making on player personal. some very good players have left the team with some high dollar attempts to put a bandaid quick fix in at some positions most of which are no longer with the team. i 'd rather see a young player given the chance to prove himself than these high dollar free agents. just look at the season as a whole and you can see where i'm coming from. go broncos!
happy new year!

Coop thanks for a some great blogs...we appreciate it.

I wish I could be optimistic about the off-season, rumors of Atlanta shopping for Shanahan have begun, and again has been verified by KOA Radio. There has been nothing else on the matter, at first I thought it would be a bad thing to see Shanahan go...now I am not so sure, he truly has earned some respect here, and from many others around the league. At first I admit I said no way to Shanahan leaving, but now I am not so sure...even if the Atlanta issue turns out to be just Atlanta shopping, I still am starting to think it is a time to change...better now with the team young and in transition, then in five years when they are winning!

I am and will always support Shanahan, now I am torn...because I am starting to hope he takes a job elsewhere; we need to change the philosophy of this team, we need to quit signing and overpay for busts and over the hill talent, and mostly I think we just need new blood. I hope for a good off-season, one which really brings in needed talent veterans and via the draft, with that I am hoping for some coaching changes also.

Thanks again Coop

I told you Dominick HIxon would prove to be a stud elsewhere. Another testament to the fact that Shanny can't recognize keepers when they are in front of him. MIke you suck and this team is gonna suck next year again and until you leave here.

The off season will be fun to watch and so will the Playoffs. We're not there but as a fan of the game, this is the fun time of the year. Everythings on the line and the game intensity and speed goes to another level.

Kind of like we saw against the Bolts and if you watched the Patriots-Giants game tonight. Fun stuff to watch and I grew up with the Miami Dolphins 17-0 season.

I'll post again after the game. Go Broncos and thanks for checking in here, it's been a lot of fun for me I hope it was for you too and I gave a little insight here and there.

How much are the Broncos in transistion?
Consider this, for various reasons the starting offense has only one player starting now who started the first game of 2006. He's Matt Lepsis and he's coming off of major knee surgery.
The starting defense has only four players starting now who started first game of 2006 and one of them is starting in a new position.
Be it offense or defense, it's not until at least the second season of working together that everyone knows how the others will react and, therefore, how they should react on any given play.
Will there be major changes in the off season? I think we all hope so as there are some glaring weaknesses that working together will not totally solve.
At the moment the Broncos will be drafting anywhere from 9th to 18th depending on what they and other clubs witth similar records do. While I hope that the Broncos will play Sunday to the best of their ability, winning could cost them several draft positions. Sooooo..........

Enjoy the game for me, Coop. It is a rare occurrence in Utah, but there will be no broadcast for the Vikings-Broncos game on our Salt Lake City-based FOX affiliate. Thus, I'll have to watch the Steelers-Ravens or Redskins-Cowboys in the late afternoon window and track the game on nfl.com. I'm looking forward to next season, I really believe that we'll be a playoff team once again. This was our year to take our lumps and we'll be better for it. Thanks for your posts. They were really informative and excellent.
