WOW!! what a game!!! If you were watching the same game as I was, you have to be impressed and excited at the baby steps taken with what I currently consider one of the best teams in the NFL.
Tough Defense, innovative game plan, got to see Tebow play and play well at a critical time in the game. CONGRATS on your first NFL TD!!! By the way, that’s really tough to do (come off the sideline cold and play at a high level) Keep that ball somewhere, buddy. Orton was spectacular, the receivers catch with their hands and I love it. The line made noticeable improvements and we’ll touch on that later. I had binoculars the entire game and watched footwork and hands all day.
Like we’ve discussed all year here, this team should get better and better. Baby steps to a championship is what it takes, and you’re seeing it. You might not like it yet because the record doesn’t indicate that looking from the outside in. It’s a long season, and we’ll have a few games like this go our way and few go the other. We’ll likely have another lapse and maybe a blowout on the other end…that’s what young (meaning playing together) teams do almost historically…but I love watching it happen because at the end of the day there’s a lot of satisfaction in the process.
O-line played better, but I did notice false steps and opening the hips on pass rushing giving the door to the defender, and D-lineman will pick up on that and start attacking the edge every time (look out). If you watch carefully, the Jets had as many as 6-8 guys at the line of scrimmage almost every play moving from one side to the other and back again, in the gap, on the outside, moving on the snap, blitzing early and late in the snap count. I watched closely all game. IMPRESSIVE strategy against a young inside group. I thought they handled it really well for a young group and they will only get better. It was fun for me as I visually went through the reads in my minds eye, not always knowing the call but having a decent feel by the way they blocked them or not in some cases. That was a tough front to block, promise.
Love to hear your thoughts and feelings on the game.

There is no way to know without knowing the severity of the pull, however it is something kind of like hammies that if you keep playing on it while not fully healed it can keep getting worse and keep you out longer eventually, so like Moreno with his hammies I would imagine they will be patient with these guys and probably hold them out for this week, maybe through the bye week depending on the severity. But a mild pull can heal in about 7 days, while more severe one will take 2 to 4 weeks and a full pull will take you out for about three months, at least that seems to be the medical consensus.
This is the part where the world of sports science addresses the recovery process:
The immediate treatment for a suspected groin strain is conservative. The injured person should cease the activity, and commence a progression of RICE applications (rest/ice/compression/elevation). In some settings, such as professional sports, it is a relatively common occurrence for the injured athlete to receive an injection of painkilling medication. Most of these injections are made directly into the afflicted area to assist the athlete to continue. Such treatment is a danger to the long-term health of the athlete, as the initial groin muscle tear may worsen after the injury. Because the usual pain sensors are deadened by the analgesic effect of the injection, the injury may become more serious. The general recovery time from a groin pull may be as little as seven days (in the case of a mild strain), to as long as three months or more when there is a complete tear.
Decker is definitely the back up slot receiver, that’s how come McD let Stokely go.
Good for you and your little one OC, thought about you guys more than once watching the game yesterday, even told my buddy at the sports bar about the towel thing…
Thank you hometeam and thank you baylin. Your break down of groin injuries was very informative and I apreciate you ta. king the time to do that. Well let’s hope at least one of these two guys is on the 7 day plan haha. And I agree hometeam – we will be seeing more of Decker and Demaryius barring injury. OC, you have me amped for next week’s game. Three friends and I are going to tailgate, get painted up and simply go hard as we cheer on the Broncos at Mile high. I look forward to having a better outcome than last week as well.
GO BRONCOS!
Glad you had a good time OC,maybe you’ll have a better time next week when we beat the Raiders, hope we get a little more healthy this week,we need Goody and Dawk back in there.
Nice post Coop! Yeah what a great day it was to be out at Invesco @ Mile High! The weather was awesome and it was great to see the “sea of orange” around the stadium!
One of the those games that makes you feel proud to be a Broncos fan!!
The players certainly felt the electricity in the air and they came to play yesterday. Loved the way our D-lineman were firing off the ball and even though we didn’t drop Sanchez, we forced into some hurries and bad throws on the int’s. Great to see Marcus Thomas drop him for a sack. Looked we were going with 4 down lineman for most to the game. Hunter stepped up and played well. DJ was all over the field…. hey our leading tackler.
The flag thrown on the desperation pass seemed like it came late. We were so pissed at that point, because it felt like we got robbed.. sheesh!!
Coach McD got creative yesterday and it was great to see us getting yds on the ground. Hey Coach get creative, as long as we’re moving the sticks, thats all that matters. The o-line did a hecka job considering we were facing Rex Ryans green machine. Not a bad effort, considering the Jets are #3 overall in the NFL power rankings and we’re what…#24….LOL!!!
Oh yeah we had to put up with a few snobby NY fans, but they know they walked out being dealt a lucky hand at the end.
Great effort, just came up short. A few miscues here and there that are corrected with time and maturity and we take these guys out next time.
Congrats to Timmy T on his first NFL TD !! Way to get him in the game Coach McD!!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, we need some of our players back from the injured list.
BFE, I completely agree. We need Goodman. Cox is good. Prob will be really good. But Goody is already good. And who knows the eventual status of Champ.
I hope we play more 4-3 Defense the rest of the year,it worked good against the run,we need that extra DE with Doom out.Wished we could see some zoneblocking on Offense, but that won’t happen.
Guess I’ll watch the Titans beat the Jags.GO BRONCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BFE
New blog on Tebow.
sndvl…I agree 100% Cox needs to learn a little more before he starts,I hope Dawk,Champ, and Goody all can go this week, our secondary isn’t the same without those guys, well I’m going to watch MNF………

Well liveing out here in California puts a damper on joining in on all the fun of this Blogg!!!But alas it has become one of my favorite things to do so I’m going to put my humble opinion out there too.
I was soo pumped for and during the game that I almost forgot half the things I saw pure Adrenaline. Blogged the whole game and had fun with the likes of @joel and TRB and a few others. Truly fun made game much more enjoyable to share it with some Broncos Fans.
I was truly crushed at the end it tooka couple of hours to get over and I absolutly had no interest in football after the game. LOL not like me.
As far as the game what I saw and what I remembered, Orton did play against some of the best corners in the league and he didn’t throw a pick I think that is a testament to both him and MCD gotta give it up. He threw into some tight windows and looked good. I thought he was a bit off overall lot of balls thrown behind the recievers that could have realy changed momentum on some of those drives.
I have been waiting for the O line to show up on the run game and it looks like they are starting to produce the jets are one of the best Defenses in the league and we outgained them!!!! Stellar
I was really upset with MCD in the first half when he stopped running Moreno after the fumble. The ball was truly ripped out I think in alot of ways it was a bad call by the refs to not blow the whistle. the ball was out grant it but forward progress was stopped ad it could have been blown dead. Yeah that might be drinkin too much coolaid but thats what I saw. KM had a very good burst at the beggining of the game and MCD stopped running him for a full quarter and put in all the other Backs includeing TT who did awesome and added a certain flair to the run game but MCD’s stubborness and lack of game expierience cost the team in my opinion. that hurt Us in the long run.
This is getting lengthy so I will save some of the rest for other nights.
The only other real comment was the same that has been said. We really hurt ourselves in the the fourth quarter with those two three and outs only real bad play calling of the game. Needed to mix in the pass and keep them off balance that was part of what got the run game going in the first place. One other thing he needs to get more imaginitive in the TT package. Can’t just run the guy every time. I agree with Bay what I remember MCD saying a couple of weeks ago was that he did not plan on useing TT as a running threat. As I recall he said it was rediculous or something to that effect. So it sure is strange and more than being strange it shows a lack of game expierinece and youth on his part. Behind it all too much pride you draft a guy who has made a liveing running the football from that position and you challenge the league that you will be able to turn him into a passer then you back out of it.
Lots of peaple have been calling it imaginitive on this Blogg. It’s what TT won the heisman doing. I was glad to see him get his first NFL touchdown and he looked Darn good doing it. But it was far from imaginitive and by the end of the game it was downright predictable. From an offensive mastermind I would like to think we can expect more out of that package in the coming weeks.
Hey I live in Oakland about 10 miles from the stadium I know the game is in Denver but we have to win. For the gipper and me I will be flying my Bronco Orange all week this week. Just looking for the right wise mouth to pop off!!!
LMAO
yea i did see alot of improvements in our team we still need to work hard and get better everyday i think this team has the potential to win the AFC west and get a playoff berth . i hope we get to watch tebow play more against the raiders maybe pass out of that formation we did against the jets fake the run then pass because u no the other team will be thinking oh its tebow hes going to run and BOOM a pass . i loved the way our line played watching the broncos being able to run and being able to run on one of the toughest defenses in the NFL was awesome to watch hopefully we can keep that up and get even better . and i loved how the crowd was i no they were even more pumped because the orange sunday event but i hope our fans can have every game like that WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE! GO BRONCOS!!!
First of all let me start off by saying “I hate the Raiders” Now, I know it is not good to hate anything, let alone something as trivial as a sports team. But there is good reason for my feelings.
The Raiders and their fans represent all that is bad in the world. They are cheap, disgusting, dirty, no good worshipers of darkness. They are the dirt bags of society. They offer nothing to human kind other than to try to destroy all that is good in the world.
I know some of you must be saying….this seems a lil extreme. They are just people doing a job or just fans cheering for their team.
Ha ha ha, you have the wool pulled over your eyes my friend! This team and everything associated with them is the epitome of evil.
The Broncos on the other hand represent hope. Our colors represent the sunrise, a new beginning, hope, and beauty. This team is the epitome of goodness.
So this Sunday, we will once again witness the battle between good and evil. When Al Davis and his henchmen come into Mile High, the Broncos and their fans will have to stare into the eyes of the beast, and not blink. A lot of weight will be on the crowds shoulders. If you are going to be at Mile High, you have a responsibility to yell and stomp the darkness back to the black hole which it came from. The world is counting on you.
R8R H8R 4 LIFE
Broncos love 4 ever
r8r h8rdude: Impressive. I have a very good friend who is a faider fan. Now I know what you’re thinking….”How could you have a friend like that?” right? Well I keep my friends close and my enemies closer. I think I’m going to recite sections of your blog to him on a weekly basis. While his intelligence level will not allow him to comprehend such big words, I’ll be comforted knowing that I have renewed the hatred. Coop I know you agree. I’ll be hating from section 132 row 39 this coming Sunday…That’s right the south stands baby!!!! My family’s Bronco home for nearly 45 years!! Bringing back memories of Madden coming out of the locker room with his clipboard covering his head so as not be pelted with whatever could be thrown. I’m psyched!!! IT’S RAIDER WEEK BABY!!! WOO HOO!!!!
ok…
Unfortunately our boys had to revert to some 4-3 the other day but…fortunately they reacted well as previously mentioned by seasoned and faithful blogger BeastFromEast92. It can’t be denied that it was pretty good and should probably remain close to the top of alignments we use this year…healthy or not.
Congrats to our O-line and all who toted the rock Sunday for putting up 145 yds on the ground againts a stout Jets defense. WTG
I’m not going to get into the negatives here today….like play calling following a turnover….yes I am going to get into it….I can’t believe we ran the ball straight ahead following the fumble late in the 3rd. A Jets defense that didn’t expect to be on the field right then should have watched Brandon Lloyd run right by and score a long touchdown. Just sayin’… 3 and out really sucked right then.
GO BRONCOS!!!! South Stands Forever!!! The Orange Crush Lives!!
Great stuff folks, really enjoyed the responses and the rebuttals…..funny Kool-aide comments but really…I know I’m a homer but call it like I see it without finger-pointing, no need, you see it, I see it, heck we all see it. Baby steps is exactly what we need and will or won’t get from a young team with what I thought was slim depth but was proved wrong this weekend and surprizingly so…an glad to see it. REAL GLAD and proud of them too!!
Seriously with the players we had missing, the young guys on O and the Jets playing the way they’ve been playing I would have called it a win if be were within 14 points, so………..I was the happiest guy in Denver and maybe the dumbest for thinking that. Didn’t want to say it last week or you’d have thought I was drinking Tequila.
) do sometimes.
Again, I liked what I saw on the O-line. but we need a bunch more. Quarter steps and half steps and no false steps……and when you have 2 guys in one gap side-by-side showing blitz YOU NEVER take a full step to the inside guy. You step back a half step so you can take the most dangerous or inside guy and if the inside guy doesn;t come your not getting yourself out of position to take the outside guy who is NOW on your corner making you open your hips as he runs past you. Fundamentals!! Hands and feet and feet first.
RAIDER WEEK, wear your ORANGE to work, play, bar, to bed, to the game. It’s time to get PUMPED UP.
