Are We Ready for Some Football?

July 29th, 2010 - 9:46pm by mark_cooper

You bet and yes I’ve been quiet for the last month. Why? Because there was absolutely nothing really that special to talk about.

Camps open and I haven’t seen or heard about a quarterback controvery yet? So when do you think it will start? I say, immediately after the first incomplete pass or two thrown by anyone other than Tebow. Seriously.

Please, I beg of you guys don’t go there with the press. That’s the first thing on their agenda. Promise, watch.

Here……… you’ll hear, “Patience Grasshopper”

This reminds me so much of my rookie year when John was drafted it’s almost funny.

Nice Contract Tim, and I had to giggle at his quote. “All I have to do is concentrate on football” We’ll yea, you just won the lottery with the guaranteed money alone. Sorry, I had to laugh. I can;t count that high and I don;t begrudge him one dollar. make as much as you can because yu never know in that game but WOW!!!

You know what I’m worried about more than anything?……………the O-line. Harris coming back from a bad toe and (All-Pro) Clady missing. That simple. You win games in the trenches.

I’ve been so busy I haven’t been keeping up with all the news and stories….because they are meaningless until folks strap em on and start banging. I don’t care about so and so’s this or that until the final roster is set and we go to war in the AFC. Any predictions??

Yep, I hit the nail on the head last year 8-8 and I love my Broncos but you guys all know you get it like I see it from me good, bad, indifferent with a little bit of HOMER. :o ). We all thought we were eating crow at 6-0 but you can’t hide in the NFL. Too many great minds.

Yep, and we have one of them right here and I’m anxious to see how coach develops the QB’s at hand.

I hope everyone had a great summer, BUT Football season is here and I’m PUMPED UP!!!

COOOOP!!! Welcome back from the dark days of NFL summer. Thank you Thank you x2 for steering away from the QBs and talking about the O-line. I agree. There are many Qs surrounding the line. Furthermore, who is starting at center and left guard? Beadles? Kuper? Olsen? Nothing is being said in the media about this. I know if we don’t have guys in the interior who ‘GET IT’ there will be even more talk about Tebow because Orten and Quinn will be on IR. I understand the issues with CBA and that the PA Pres is Mawae but I think we should have signed him….maybe still should. I’m not sure we should be trusting all the pre-snap comms to a rook at Center. Any thoughts there Coop? I’m still psyched!!!

GO BRONCOS!!!! South Stands Forever!!! The Orange Crush Lives!!

raidrhadr agree, camp will sort things out to degree and we have enough bodies and guys that can play to make it happen. I’m a wait and see guy because often the line can either gel pretty quick or it’s tough one all year long. We mixed lineman quite a bit back in the day, didn’t have a great back and didn’t have huge issues but we also had #7 that got us out of trouble.

I predict a lot of wild horse or a varied offensive scheme with Tebow involved to keep the defense off guard and playing the run and the pass. This will be interesting to see because we get some use out of him but it won’t quench the fans appetite.

We might be calling this Camp MASH with all the injuries. I was heartbroken for Elvis as I’m sure he’s absolutely devestated to have torn the peck. I’ve not seen that much with all the pass rushers using that big hand slap to the shoulder to drive that rip with the other arm to drive that swim move.

My wife’s a personal trainer and she asked me how one injures the peck and when I showed her the move I got past her :o ) but then she clipped me. Ooops got carried away, but all kidding aside she made the comment that maybe he got unbalanced in the chest and back muscles. I’d not really thought about it.

Tough to call but that one injury could cost us 2 games over the long haul as it puts that much more pressure on the D-backs to cover longer or we get really creative with the blitz. Problem there is like last year eventually, the offense figures you out and shuts you down.

Switching gears, have to say CONGRATS to Floyd Little and his family for his induction into the Hall of Fame. Wonderful man and the Broncos are finally getting their dues. Couple of other guys I can think of that deserve the nod.

We’ll get this Blog rolling!! Can you believe in less than a week we have a preseason game? Out old training camps ran for 6 weeks before we saw a new face. We use to bring teams up to Greeley so we had someone other than our own guys to hit. Man do things change.

    Hi Mark,
This is your “Uncle Rick”. I am very pleased to see that you all now have Tim Tibow in your ranks. Mark, I remember when John Elway and you were roomates and both starting out in your NFL Careers. Tim is also a good guy! I remember you being drafted by Denver and the Phone call home when you played with the U of Miami and played in Denver. You told your folks that you “were in Love! With denver”! Mark you were your parents Pride and joy and you never disappointed anyone you knew, including me.
    Take Care and Blessings, ~Rick
