2 in a Row

September 18th, 2007 - 9:05am by mark_cooper

Like we used to say, “It ain’t pretty but it’s a win.”  And looking at the stats once we get the ball rolling in the red zone we should be on fire.

We’ll take them any way we can get them, via fancy coaching, last minute heroics, whatever.  Because like I mentioned before, at the end of season all that matters is “THE PLAYOFFS.”

Oh, by the way FANS, last week was a little too quiet for me being RAIDER WEEK, so I’ll expect a little more Pump You Up atmosphere next round. We have them again in December and like I said on any given Sunday if you’re not paying attention you can be surprised.

Jacksonville comes to town this week and it’s Alumni Weekend. Very special time for the guys to see each other and reminisce about battles at Mile High Stadium.  Terrell Davis will be inducted into the Ring of Fame and that’s a great honor as a former Bronco.  Congrats Terrell!!

I agree it didn’t seem like in the past. You know the announcers said it during the game. I think we underestimated the Raiders. I saw it in the game. We had the raiders at half time down 17-3. I think after the half we came out a little relaxed. We need to learn to play a full four quaters. It was almost to late when we realised that we were playing in the NFL. We need to stay focused and play every week like we have to win that game to get into the playoffs. The announcers said during the game that coach shannahan said to them that the rivalry doesn’t mean the same, and it won’t until the raiders are more competative. That was there mistake. They need to treat them like they are the colts!!!!!

Looked just like the last couple of years. Ahead in the game only to let the other team back in. It seems we play down to the level of the competition. Certainly that was the case in the first two games. I expect the jagwads to provide more of the same. Remember the Quentin Griffith fumble ? The real tests will come in game #4 & game #5. At Indy, chargers at home. We need to get it together for these two games. Our offense looks better than ever, now let’s start scoring like we used to. Defense is coming along. So many new guys, so many young studs. Can’t wait for it all to gel. Go Broncos !!

a win is a win! thats for sure. I`t seems everyone is blasting the broncos for their close win but I feel these early tests only make us stronger. You got to love Cutlers cool head in those come from behind drives

You guys all hit it on the head, the Raiders rivalry has somewhat exhausted itself. Not for me. I still have a distaste for them (old school, sorry) always will. :o )

Like you guys said, the Colts-Chargers will be a real test for us and let’s not forget Pittsburgh and GreenBay. We’ll have a stretch there that could determine the season.

So far I really like what I see. We’re not going undefeated and we all know that but the way Culter is handling himself and the defense is coming along…..I like it…baby steps. I’m O.K. with that but the tempo will have to pick up as the compeititon picks up.

Jacksonville will be a good test on the secondary, let’s hope we’re all taking 3 in a row and getting ready for the Colts. BUT remember, when you start looking past an opponent, that’s when it’s dangerous.

I’m headed up the hill today to host my charity flyfishing tournament in Aspen for Cystic Fibrosis, then to the game on Sunday, I’ll yak at you guys next week. GO BRONCOS!! Think 3 in a row, right?

3 in a row?? Not until we repair our MLB position and get DJ back to his position. We went from the best LB crew to one of the worst. I only have my diagnosis…the solution is much more difficult.

I hate to think what the Colts and the Chargers will do to our so-called run defense.
