Konnichiwa!

I couldn’t tell you what time it is, what day it is, how many days we have left on tour or every event that has taken place in the last few weeks, but I can tell you that every moment has been rich!

We have currently set up camp in Okinawa at Kadena Air Base.  We performed a show last night and will perform our last full show this evening at Camp Schwab.  The majority of troops on this base are Marines.

Tomorrow we have a full day.  We will rise at 6 a.m. to prepare for a Super Bowl halftime performance mid-morning during the Giants-Pats faceoff. We will be in attendance to surprise some troops at two different Super Bowl parties on base tomorrow. Those shows will be a 25-minute abbreviated version of our full 1 1/2 hour show.

I must say I would love it if the Broncos were in the Super Bowl, but we have been blessed; if the Broncos WERE in the Super Bowl, we would not have been able to attend this tour. Rather than performing on the championship field in Arizona, we will be rocking the orange and blue in a completely different fashion on a very different stage, located on a completely different side of the world, for some extraordinary individuals. ‘Super Bowl Monday’ in Japan will never be the same!

One of the things that always stands out to me on these tours is my appreciation for the families in the Armed Forces — the mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, grandparents, and children that support the troops representing their families for the United States of America. Joining the military is a community sacrifice within a family.  Being away from my family for 3 weeks is difficult; being separated from your family for six-to-15 month increments is a sacrifice, a duty that is difficult to comprehend and a gift to all of us.  I look forward to our next and last few days abroad thanking our troops and celebrating their devotion.

We will soon touch down in Denver again. Isn’t it interesting the impact and perspective that 21 days can have on a person, on a team? We have only been able to share a glimpse of our gratitude, but I look forward to coming home and sharing their stories for years to come.

Many blessings and sayonara.

Keela

I’d like to say thanks to you and the girls for your wonderful performance here in Okinawa. It’s always nice to have a little taste of home, especially from the Broncos organization. My son really enjoyed the show as I’m sure you guys enjoyed him (the “eligible bachelor” that was offered up during your first performance) I hope you had a good tour and hopefully I’ll see all of you at the super bowl next year.

    Hi Keela,

It’s great that you took the time to post about your experiences in the tour and we’re so glad that you and the other girls got to have so much interaction with our troops and their families. I would love to see some pictures on the blog when you return.

And as one Bronco fan I’m already looking forward to next year and the leadup to it - especially fan fare. Do you know the dates for that yet? Probably early June if it’s like last year?

Thanks again for all that you girls do. You’re really the best.

    Don

I told you to lay off the tequila, no wonder you can’t remember…..

    Listen, you…

Do as I “say”, not as I “do”.

    (I kill me)

We returned this afternoon from our 21 day tour and the entire trip really was a “once in a lifetime” experience. Every show was different and unique–and we were all so honored to take a show overseas that brought a little taste of home to our friends and heros abroad fighting for each and every one of us.
For all of you that came to the show–thank you for your service and inviting us into “your house”; we are forever humbled. For all of you serving around the world–we are forever indebted to you for your devout service.

    Many Blessings,
    Keela
