Broncos fans are basking in the euphoria of a 2-0 start, one that on the surface (the very superficial surface) has a lot of luck attached to it.
Everybody watches all the newscasts on Sunday, and every one of them is loaded with Bronco stories, and the comments relative to luck have been widespread.
No question about it, the Broncos have had some good fortune, and we’ll take it.
But we should not forget how many times the past few years situations have arisen that played out just the opposite of what we have seen the lst two weeks.
These things go in cycles, and often the cycles are tied a whole lot to the prevalent talent on a team.
This particular edition of the Denver Broncos currently is leading the NFL in total offense, and ranks third in total defense.
Over the course of a season, if a team maintains those kind of yardage figures, it is goping to seem awfully lucky, perhaps on a weekly basis.
Ultimately, you make your own luck, and there is no barometer of your success like your record.
Every team could have lots of excuses and rationalizations, but ultimately every team has just one record.
And you are what your record says you are.
Remember that and hold your head up when someone says, “It’s all about luck.”

Nice blog Jim! However I feel very fortunate that the Broncos have won but great teams figure a way out to win close games and that is what we have done. So luck like you said is created but I think these first two wins are credit to Mike’s coaching ability to get it done when it matters. We are a few plays away from blowing these teams out.
We do have to look at the level of teams that we have been beating though. I think at best they are 6 to 7 win teams and I mean at BEST. The Raiders do have a great defense and that has started to show since that offense can finally move the ball and give them a chance to stay in these games. We need to get more touchdowns in the redzone and less field goals. Our biggest challenge will come in Week four against a strong Colts team. Only, then will we see what we can accomplish this season.
I would like to see a blog from you that is focused more on the underlying issues at hand with our run defense and our inability to score on offense. I do see us getting in the end zone more next week against a very poor run defense in Jacksonville. Let’s hear you thoughts about this more later in the week when we get closer to game time.
I look forward to seeing more of your articals to come! Go Donkey’s and let get excited to see this defense improve and getting back on track to the orange crush days!
I don’t give a rats behind what all those critics are saying about my boys. It’s been a long time since i felt that the broncos were both scary on offense and defense. Shoot. We can out score any team in the league, whens the last time we could say that. Soon enough we’ll stop making these little mistakes that cost so big, and the DENVER BRONCOS will dominate. SCARY AIN”T IT
