So, the Broncos not only played in the first AFL game, but the first NFL overtime game, eh?

Terrific article, Jim. I remember that game well. After waiting for 14 long years for our first winning season (I suffered with the Broncos through all those years), this was sort of the coming-of-age for the team.

Only thing is, after Billy Thompson, who you mentioned, was snubbed for the All-50 team, I still grit my teeth at the mention of his name. Billy was shafted. I don’t know whether I’ll ever get over that . . .

I heard about that game. I wish that the NBC broadcast of that game was out there. I would love to see that, especially with commercials and halftime.

Overtime had to start sometime and it’s an honor that it happened with our Broncos showing the NFL it could be a viable way of deciding football games. Hopefully, this game doesn’t go into an extra session (too aggravating!) Nevertheless, if it does, we’re going to earn our seventh win of the season. GO BRONCOS!!!
