By now every Denver Broncos fan is well aware of all the changes that have been made in advance of the 2009 National Football League season.
One of the exciting things about change is that it has a dynamic all to itself. There is just so much energy around the team right now, and that bounces onto everyone who comes into contact with Josh McDaniels and the players.
We should never spend any time right now worrying about the results. The results take care of themselves, it’s the preparation that is key. Just like in a classroom setting, if the time, effort, preparation and study are focused and strong, the results usually take care of themselves.
That’s how it is in the NFL as well, and this team and coaching staff is really putting hard work into the process.
There are 45 new players under contract to the Broncos at this time. That number represents draft choices, veteran free agents and undrafted free agents signed right after this year’s college player draft concluded.
Since the days of the 80-man roster, I cannot recall as many new players wearing Bronco uniforms.
They are all different as to height, weight, age and position, but one common theme is the kind of character and attitude each of these new players brings to the team.
The focus is all about hard work, detail, preparation and teamwork.
Certainly, these are values preached everywhere, but it is obvious to members of the organization and to the media covering the team on a daily basis how strongly this is both emphasized and represented by this group.
When a whole team of players is on the same page in that regard, that makes the dynamic of change and the possibility of success very exciting.
The old adage that “you can’t tell the players without a scorecard,” popularized by turn of the century (no, not the old one, the older old one) ballpark hawkers before pro football was even created, has never been more true in Denver since the 1980′s.
But there is plenty of talent here, and the attitude is fresh and moving forward like an all-engulfing fog.
The positive vibe just scoops up everything in its path and carries it along.
This is going to be a very exciting training camp at our Dove Valley headquarters beginning late July, and the four preseason games will garner a local buzz that we have not had in some time.
It’s always fun to share growth and development as a community, and that’s no different for those sporting communities to which we all belong. The writers and broadcasters covering the 2009 Broncos will not lack for story lines, and the almost 100% renewal rate on season tickets guarantees the 40th consecutive sellout season in the Mile High City.
There’s a new culture engulfing the team and city. The coming season will show us all once again that you can’t stand in the way of electricity when sparks begin to fly.

thank you ekad 111 for proving my point. and well stated.
