George Halas reasoned that football players are bigger than baseball players; the city's baseball team is the Cubs. Therefore, logically the football team should be the Bears. "The Buffalo Bills obviously took their name from the great Wild West show entertainer..." From what I know, they were named after famous western frontiersman, William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. I'm not sure who the Denver Nuggests are. And it would be interesting to know what some of the other entries were in naming the Broncos.
