I am happy to see the Broncos Organization honor this page to the ” Barrel Man” I am 35 and live in Tennessee, I have been a Broncos fan most of my life, and Barrel Man was and is what the world knows to be a true fan, never to waiver, no matter what, the good, the bad, hot or cold, sunny or snowy, he was there, cheering and cheering loud, I hope everyone remembers him during each game out in Denver this year, because Barrel Man is looking down on us from Heaven cheering wearing his barrel, this time he has wings on the side of it, I wish the best for his family during this time, and to Barrel Man, God Bless you and rest in peace, we love you. You were an icon to every Broncos fan across the nation. You set an example for being a true fan, who loved the team no matter what. Barrel Man oh Barrel Man, I remember you being the famed Bronco fan since I remember following football. I always wanted to reach your level of fandom! I will sorely miss you. I have enjoyed your spirit ever since the orange crush swallowed offenses and the three amigos torched the field, you lived a great life and your legacy will never be forgotten. I will speak of the Great Barrel Man for years to come. Captain my Captain may I honr you with many years of strong devotion to our beloved ORANGE AND BLUE!

He has been and always we be a huge part of Bronco legend. I for one think Tim and his barrel should become part of the ring of fame.

RIP Mr. McKernan…. you’ve touched so many hearts. So much more than just a guy who wanted to get on TV.

I know there is much discussion about how the ring of fame is restricted to players/coaches/owners, etc. However, I don’t think you could dream up a better representative of the 12th man than the barrel man. Please, please put him in the ring of fame. I’ve watched the Broncos every sunday since… well I can only remember as far back as the Ralston days… but I’m sure I was watching before that as I have the baby pics to prove it. I’ve loved the team and it’s players with all my heart, and I couldn’t have more respect for the special contributions made by the current folks up there, but I think Tim deserves it too. His appearance in 77 really coincides with the birth of Broncomania, and he really represents bronco fandom for all of us.

Thanks for the memories, Tim. You’ve left us with many, many fond Bronco memories!
