About 7 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Willie Lanier at a KC Chiefs pre-game fundraiser tailgate party before a Denver/KC game at Arrowhead Stadium. Mr. Lanier and I talked about the old AFL for about 10 minutes. After accepting the riddling I took (I was wearing my Elway jersey at the time), I finally asked him who was the toughest player he ever played against. He thought for a few seconds, and said "that's so hard to answer but I would say Floyd Little because, as a linebacker, you have to follow the ball. And he was so small he was right on top of you all of the sudden. And when that happened he was so quick he was gone before you knew it." For those of you who don't know who Willie Lanier was go to the NFL site and look up his name in the Pro Football HOF. He's was one of the game's greatest MLBs and he had the ulitmate respect for #44.

I like what Darrell Reid has to say about Jarvis Moss:

"Don't write him off. I think one player who's going to surprise this year is Jarvis Moss. Last year at this time, he questioned whether he wanted to play football anymore. I think he worked very hard this offseason, and he really surprised me how well he picked up the defensive philosophies. I think this might be the year it happens for him."

Right now he is the third OLB behind Doom and Ayers. If Ayers comes along as I think he will and Moss comes out of nowhere like Reid says, watch out opposing QB's!!!

I still don't understand how confortable we can be with our running backs situation, I can only remember 2008 when we went through 7 RB's that year, it's a real tough position to play anymore since everybody has gotten so much bigger and faster, so much time invested in JJ for nothing, very strange indeed.

Haha, funny wereamr. About the Arrington trade deal Klis offers this explanation:

And then, just as Arrington was ready to join the Broncos for the start of training camp Sunday, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for Joe Mays, a special-teams standout and backup inside linebacker. The Eagles had interest in a versatile backup tailback, and the Broncos were searching for an inside backer who could fill the special-teams role vacated by Mario Haggan. Haggan will get some special- teams relief this season as he shifts to starting "mike" linebacker in the 3-4 defense.
