Things are a little more intense now with the Cowboys in town. It’s good work against a good team. They have a lot of great players on their team, a great coaching staff. It’s a good measuring stick for us to go up against these guys.
I think we did well in the two practices today. I think we came out with a lot of energy. We were using our quickness since those Cowboys are a lot bigger than us. We’re using what God gave us. Our defensive linemen are smaller than their offensive linemen, so we’re hitting them real hard, and we’re using quickness to make plays out there.
We’re used to going against our O-line — they’re so quick. Going against the Cowboys O-line, they’re a lot bigger but their speed is not the same. It’s a different style of play. Throughout the 16 weeks in the NFL we’re going to play different styles. This is a good change-up for us.
This afternoon, the second-year defensive ends looked really good. Moss had a nice little spin move. Tim Crowder used a lot of inside moves. They’re getting off the ball and moving. They have to move quickly because you can’t let those big offensive linemen get their hands on you. They moved quickly and didn’t let that happen.
I don’t think any of the Cowboys expected us to come out like that at them. I’m sure tomorrow they’re going to be a little more aggressive, but we’re going to be ready. Tomorrow should be the same exact schedule, but it’s a good challenge. It’s about time we go against someone else, and all these guys like it.
We need to be a more physical team than we were last year, and I think the mindset has changed totally from last year to this year. This is a good deal. I think things are going in the right direction – it’s positive. We’ve got some more practices tomorrow, and then we’re getting ready for the game Saturday.
These practices are good for the preseason because we see the other team’s practices, what their techniques are and those things. But you’ve still got to go out there in the game and do it. That’s the fun thing about it. You go against each other in practice and then come gameday, you put it all together where it counts.
I’m excited to get back under the lights at INVESCO. I think my best game is at home. There is nothing like our fans. The atmosphere is great. I’m looking forward to full attendance. I want it to be third-and-long, and I want it loud in there. That’s huge for us. We just need the fan support, and we appreciate them. We’re happy to come kick this season off right at the first preseason game in Denver.
I’ll talk to you next week and answer some of your questions then!

Thanks for the update elvis! Good luck this saturday and for the whole season me and all of broncos country are behind you guys!
Thanks for letting us know what’s going on, Doom! I know Bronco fans are excited for the first game at home. There has been some good stuff at the Olympics, but, damn, it’s time for some football! Sounds like the defense is coming together nicely. I just hope you guys get through the preseason without any more injuries! GO BRONCOS!
PLEASE lets see Tony Romo on his Jessica Simpson lovin’ butt! Show him that the ones working hard will get the better of the one slackin! Also, could ya tell Champ that we dont want 2 see B.O. (T.O.) get any receptions. If Champ’s playing, that is.
Appreciate you keeping us in the loop Elvis. Good to see you guys back in action last week vs. the Texans. Hope Peyton Hillis (FB), will be ready to play this week. He and Felix Jones, (RB -Cowboys), were teammates with the Arkansas Razorbacks, along w/ McFadden, who is now a Raider. What I’m reading and seeing, is that you guys are real excited about the defense this year! That’s a great sign. Have fun against them Cowboys on Saturday. Shoot the gaps against them big O-lineman from Dallas !!
Can we expect to see you causing havoc back there this game Doom? I think we all know the headaches you can bring to opposing offenses.
Go get ‘em Elvis. Be sure to give Romo a nice welcome to Denver.
Good luck this week Dum, and for god’s sake stay healthy!!
Hey Doom,
Put a Dallas QB on his back for me, would you?
I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks,
A big fan
I appreciate your efforts, Elvis both on the field and with this blog. Good luck against the Cowboys (who I don’t really like) this Saturday and throughout the season. Use your quickness to make Leonard Davis & company look foolish! Hopefully, Spencer Larsen makes some big plays against Dallas as well.
DOOM! I can’t find your jersey anywhere, any suggestions where I can buy your jersey? Keep up the good fight Elvis its great to have you on our DLine! Do you talk to Wesley Woodyard at all? Tell the kid to keep up the hustle and the tough place like you did last year. Tell Shanny to keep him on the team!
I’m looking forward to seeing a butt whoopin this Saturday! You guys need to stick it to the Cowboys!! Thanks, as always, for your time and effort you put in this blog. I know for me it makes a closer connection to the guys on the team. I love it!!
Put your sack on Romo. Then lift TO over your head and body slam him. Then walk over to Adam Jones and cuff him. He has the right to remain silent. Anything he says can and will be used against him. Put some dollar bills in his tight pants.
The cowboys have a fat line. They lack speed. But have girth, and you must account for that with advanced strikes. Stomp on the fat gut and call it an accident. Be explosive with your bench press. Show those boys who is the master of the three-cone drill. Submit the fat boys with jiu-jitsu. Get in the mount and apply an arm bar. Rip the ball away and take it to the house.
Broncos!
Alright Doom! Go Get for us!!
Doom….great post. Looking forward to the new season. I have one question for you. Our you more excited about the scheme this year compared to last year? Whats the biggest difference in your eyes? O.K. that was 2 questions….West Coast
Can’t wait for the game Saturday! I will be there cheering you on!!! GO BRONCOS!!! ♥
-PARIS (#1 BRONCO FAN!!!)
Doom, thanks for keeping us up-to-date! keep up the good work and let’s see you get more sacks than Mario Williams this year. show the rest of the NFL where they can take their “he’s too small” business! and even if you only get one sack this year, PLEASE make it on Phillip Rivers. he needs it.
good luck saturday and let’s have a great year! i’ll be cheering you on from Missouri.
Elvis, AKA Doom,
YOu are the man. I have so much respect for a guy like you. People told you, you were too small to play DE but looks like they were wrong. Not only are you a pro but you’re one of the best in the league, I enjoy watching you play every game, you always try hard. It means a lot to fans when players try hard.
P.S.
Put Phyllis Rivers on his Back. that kid needs to be taught a lesson or two, GO GET ‘Em Donkies!
LMAO@bigbombs. dude your crazy arm bars in football….
Doom someof us fans really enjoy you boys eating QB’s. please tell us its just preseason and you guys will end that drought this weekend.
Eat dem Boys.
Thanks for the updates Elvis. Please put the cowgirls overrated quarterback Tony Romo on his butt during the game on saturday. Hopefully Jessica Simpson is there to see her boy on his but. More importantly again, Make Philip Rivers taste the sweet grass at Invesco Field at Mile High.
Elvis, it’s great to read your blog. We all appreciate the time you take out of what is surely a hectic schedule at camp time to keep us all updated. It’s a lot of fun to read a first-hand account from someone who really knows what he’s talking about. I think our season this year comes down to the play of both lines, specifically the development of those second year defensive linemen. From what I’ve read, Marcus Thomas seems to be having a great camp. It’s good to read that Moss and Crowder are switching up the pass rush moves. If Jarvis could perfect a spin move, that would be absolutely deadly. He has all the physical talent in the world, but it seems like last year he had a rather limited list of moves he would use. Let’s hope you, as an expert technician, can impress upon him the importance of learning and perfecting multiple pass rush moves.
Thanks again, from Memphis, Tennessee
It’s Doomsday for Romo! Hit him soo hard, Jerry Jones falls over!
What they gunna do, when they see 92????
Doom,
You really need to sack JaMarcus Russell like 5 times on MNF…. I was talking to some Faider fans and they were all happy cause they don’t have to deal with Brandon in that game…I told them to watch out for Eddie Royal, and they told me that he would get his head knocked off because he is only like 5′ 8 and 180lbs. I told them that you were smaller then averge D-Lineman and you go against bigger O-Lineman all the time!!! I am glad you are doing a blog and thanks for taking the time to respond and good luck this season!!!
All Ready!!!!
Doom! Bring the heat to Romo and make phyllis start sweating. My B-day is in SEP and all I want is to Doom bring the orange crush on phyllis.
Go Broncos!
DOOM! here come da DOOM! here come da DOOM!
Just got done watchin’ the cowgirls game……….I just wanted to drop in and say “NICE game Doom!” All I heard about all week (I live in Texas now because my wife is in the Navy here) is how much bigger the cowgirls were and how much better they were. Well, didn’t look like that to me! Props to the Broncos - offense, defense, and special teams, you guys outplayed the favorites in the NFC tonight and I couldn’t be happier!
Nice sack today Doom!
Dr. Doom: I finally bought your jersey last night at the game, and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. So now let’s get you signed to a looooong contract extension and break my streak of bad luck with jersey choices… Lol. Good game last night to you and all your teammates.
Dr. Doom,
You got Romo, but where was the pizazz? Did you not see Usain Bolt win the 100m in Beijing? Start the showboating before the sack is even over. As you come up on the QB, take a few moments to pound your chest. Once you have him down, jog around the field dancing and posing for pictures.
Oh yeah, great idea, bigbombs! Lets have in show off so then the quarterback gets it off and he looks like an idiot! Genius…
Great idea! He should show off. you know, do the cha-cha before he even gets off his block so the qb gets away and he looks like an idiot. GREAT THINKING!
you guys were awesome last night
but I couldn’t help but feel bad for Jack Williams after that interception, the poor guy will probably never live it down lol And you got Romo
When we play the bolts please get Phyllis Rivers, imagine he’s Vick if you have to. I just want that jerk’s ass on the turf
You guys kick!
Dumervill, you need to step up your game. You’re just a blue belt, and your sack is weak. You’re an over-achieving 4th round pick. You need to study at the knee of a real master of competition, like michael phelps or nastia liukin. I am behind you 100% as you work to become a better player.
Bigbombs, go torture a raiders blog where you belong! he’s already at 12 1/2 sacks his second year! tell me of any other person with those kind of stats! And secondly, we’re talking about football, you cow-kissing hippy!
