One of Head Coach John Fox’s favorite sayings is that the NFL is only fun when you’re winning.
For the past 10 games, the Broncos have done exclusively that. And have been having plenty of fun in the process.
“We’ve got a lot of good guys and it’s just fun to come to work every day when it’s like that,” wideout Brandon Stokley said. “Everybody just works harder and just loves being in the building. I think everybody will say that it’s been a lot of fun.”
The 14th-year veteran added that it’s important to have that loose and relaxed feeling in the locker room because it fuels the hard work and helps the team jell.
Wide receiver Eric Decker said the “camaraderie level” is one of the most improved parts of the Broncos team from prior years to 2012.
“The guys are having so much fun,” Decker said. “And we trust each other and that goes a long way when you’re on the football field and you’re in the heat of battle and trying to win the game in the fourth quarter.”
The trust that Decker speaks of has been displayed on the field. When one of the units on the team has struggled, the other group has been there to pick up the slack.
“There are some stretches where an offense or defense gets in a little slump and things aren’t going right,” quarterback Peyton Manning said. “The other side of the ball has to be able to pick them up. We have done that for the most part, pretty consistently. We haven’t had many stretches where both of us have kind of gone cold at the same time.”
It all goes back to the chemistry in the locker room and on the field. The players have worked hard and had fun while doing it, and that combination has produced wins. Those, too, are fun.
“I know the offense gets excited when we see (linebacker) Von (Miller) or (defensive end) Elvis (Dumervil) get a sack or (cornerback) Champ (Bailey) get a turnover,” Manning said. “I know those are the first guys to greet us on the sidelines after we have a long touchdown drive or a big play to Decker or (running back) Knowshon Moreno pops a long run. To me, that’s the key to being a team.”

They clearly gave Tebow the shaft, for the first time he is at the end of a bum wrap and i bet it doesn’t feel good. Kind of similar to the bill of goods Brady Quinn was sold when he was brought aboard and then Tebow drafted. Jets are a mess. They need a cleansing from top to toe. The mentality there is poor. The plays have been tainted and i don’t think they can hold a lockeroom together anymore. They trash talk each other and back stab. They need a coaching staff change, a GM change and need to get rid of some of thier players. Also need to trade Tebow, where? who knows. Just away from there. They definitely need to cut sanchez or trade him as well and draft a QB or acquire matt flynn from seattle or something (or maybe bring on kirk cousins and kyle shanahan) … but they need help. Franchise is a mess, and they handled the Tebow thing worse than our QB quandries.

Agreed TRB. The Jets biggest problem is their owner, who really only cares about publicity. Us Broncos fans are extremely lucky to have an owner like Pat Bowlen. They don’t have much of a choice on Sanchez starting, b/c he has a lot of guaranteed money in his contract. I’ve heard the Jets would take a $17M cap hit if they cut him..

if were a jets fan i would boycott then untill sanchez was gone. t2 wouldnt even enter into it. one thing is certain. sanchez single handedly costs them games. worst qb in the league.

Yea their owner was the driving force behind acquiring TT and it was all for publicity. They desperately need a culture change over there. Much like the Raiders in the davis days … this is what happens when Owners stick their nose too much into things. I understand its their team and their money is on the line but leave it to the professionals. Packers are lucky they are publicly owned or wateva.

ya trb a mess is right! but they cannot get rid of sanchez because of his contract. he’s owed some 8 mil next year and they’ll pay it wether hes there or not. so he should be there but only as an expensive backup. he’s not gonna make it as a starter there or imo anywhere in this league. tebow isnt playing and shouldnt. if they think sanchez is bad…. just imagine if they started tebow knowing what that would look like. he would just make things look even worse overall for the jets when he played like he does. no good can come from that. they know it. the fallout from not playing tebow is far less than the madhouse circus that his poor and embarrassing play would cause. they would look like they didnt know how to put a qb on the field to save their lives and heads would roll from that decision. and yes his poor play would be their fault, not his. trust me, been there, done that….

hey strand whats going on man? ya i hear ya i havent been on much but its for good reason. I not only am super busy as far as work but i also started the construction of my house and my businesses plumbing shop. they are next door to each other and I’ve got them going at the same time so that on top of running the daily biz operations has me strung out and a mess! i’ve never worked so much in my life! i just keep telling myself when i’m up at midnight doing bids and paperwork “think about the finished house, think about the finished house” haha i gotta do it to keep sane. I wish i could post pics cuz i got a bunch of em of the construction. its pretty cool knowing its all mine and i’ll be living there soon. should be done about march so it’ll be high strung louisianabroncofan til then. I’ll post when i can but when its done i’ll get back to posting away. it’ll be just in time for the draft, which i love, so thats perfect timing. i hope your doing well too strand and everyone else here.

LBF, I discovered A new progressive metal band that is just amazing. I don’t know if you’ve heard of this band yet. They are from Norway, The Band is call *Circus Maximus). They have three CD’s out. The Guitar player from Dream Theater John Petricci loves them. Just wanted ya to know.
theyre insulating my house right now with that spray in foam stuff in the walls and the roof line. I recommend that for anyone getting a house built. it makes your bill almost nothing. and the attic stays about 80 degrees in the summer. if i can figure out a way to post pics somewhere and post a link i will! good to see ya cat! and sndvl, trb and alex. i do hate i’m missing so much on here.

lbf, if you say so. There is no proof his play would have been bad. Or worse than sanchez. U do know sanchez is like 50 percent, and riddled with turnovers right? Tebow was 50 percent but at least he wasn’t riddled with turnovers. Never the less. I hear you and luckily its not our issue. Our only issue is whether we will be just another playoff team or world champs. I like that issue and I am personally hoping for the latter.

TRB, exactly, but remember, reporters can lose their jobs if they lie… I don’t know. Tebow’s behavior has been self serving and so I don’t know who to believe, however, I’m not mad that he doesn’t get his chance to start. He made his choice.

Sup RBF, long time man. Good to see you too. Yea ravens games was one of the best experiences ever. Especially the way we went to work. I had endzone seats, the moreno td, decker td and pick six took place right in front of me. It was truly an awesome sight to behold. Even recorded the moreno TD. The only thing better would be witnessing Broncos awesomeness with fellow fans in a Denver home game.
