Wesley Woodyard’s brother is currently working in Iraq alongside the U.S. Military, so it comes as no surprise that Woodyard would have an affinity for the troops.
Inspired by his brother, the inside linebacker decided to donate 10 tickets to Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders to military men and women who have recently come back from overseas.
“Sitting around talking to Andra Davis, he also expressed that it would probably be a good idea for me to reach out to the troops, just to show the support and the love that we as Broncos have for them,” Woodyard said.
He worked with the ticket office to help find soldiers who were back from abroad, and provided tickets to get them out to INVESCO Field at Mile High this weekend.
“It’s pretty good to get them to come to the game,” Woodyard smiled. “I know they’re going to be loud.”

SANTA THE LINEBACKER
Darrell Reid will don the big red suit Friday evening, dressing up as Santa Claus to benefit his Footz Foundation.
Reid will meet and greet fans from 4:30 to 7 p.m. MST at the JW Marriott at the Cherry Creek North Shopping Center. The outside linebacker/defensive end will sign autographs, snap pictures and mingle with fans as a “celebrity Santa.”
Tickets to the event are $10, and tickets to a 30-minute VIP reception just prior to the public meet-and-greet are available for $100. During the event, memorabilia will be available through purchase and raffle. All of the proceeds will go to the Footz Foundation.
The mission of Reid’s foundation is to educate, empower and inspire youth to believe and achieve and promote future success and guidance through life’s challenges. The foundation partners with a variety of programs to provide opportunities for leadership, development and academic achievement. The ultimate goal is to enable youth to positively impact their lives, families, schools and communities.
Tickets are on sale through Denver Magazine’s website at www.denvermagazine.com/celebritysanta. Tickets will be required for admittance and each person will also receive special holiday promotional discounts and offers for shopping in Cherry Creek North.
The final injury report for this weekend’s game was released on Friday, and the Broncos have six players listed as probable for the matchup: David Bruton (quad), Elvis Dumervil (toe), Spencer Larsen (back), Knowshon Moreno (ankle), Richard Quinn (hamstring) and Tony Scheffler (ribs). Ty Law (hamstring) is listed as questionable for the contest, and Correll Buckhalter (ankle) and Renaldo Hill (ankle) are listed as doubtful. Brandon Lloyd, who was listed on the injury report earlier this week after not participating in Wednesday’s practice, is no longer on the list, as it was not injury related.
For the Raiders, QB Bruce Gradkowski (knee), WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) and WR Nick Miller (shin) are out for Sunday’s contest. TE Zach Miller (concussion) and LB Sam Williams (illness) are questionable, and DE Greg Ellis (knee), S Michael Huff (neck), C Samson Satele (calf) and DE Matt Shaughnessy (groin) are probable for the game.

Anyway,
THE SEASON IS OURS FOR THE TAKING

Way to give back to the community guys, you all are a CLASS ACT.Glad to see Jags lose and get off our back, like to see Ravens lose too, hate to play’em again in the wildcard game.
I think Oakland’s HB tantum is great and the Orange Crush has 2 play great D.
BAYLIN
44-6 my pick….this game should be a breeze
Great to see the Christmas spirit!! Here is my list Santa>Ha
Those who know me on this blog know how I hate the faders. I look forward to the Broncos Beating the Raiders in every phase of the game. I want Orton to throw 2 TD’s to The Beast! I want to see Hillis take it in for a goal line TD! I want a 50 yard field goal! I want 3 interceptions, one for a touchdown. I also want to recover two fumbles. I want to see a 3 sack game from The Doom! Eddie can join my x-mass list with a return for a TD.
That’s Broncos 38 to Raiders 10.>>Ha
I think McD will have us prepared and not over look the Raiders!! I want to see my Broncos Hungry for a WIN! I think we will see what our Broncos are made of this Sunday not because we play a power team but because we are not. We again hold our future for the playoffs in our hands. I want to see Bronco Football! I want an exciting game! I want a Win!!!!
GO BRONCOS!!
FTR
Just a great big THANK YOU to Woodyard for what he is doing. My 2 boys have just come home from basic (Army) for Christmas. GO BRONCOS!!
We’re not overlooking the Faiders although it was an early Christmas present to see the Jags fall farther behind us in the wild card. GO BRONCOS!!!
Thanks for the post Gray,
now these are the types of achievements and good deeds I want to hear more about not the pro bowl voting and weekly leader awards. those things mean nothing in the Light of Lifes challenges. These kind of things make me so proud to be a Denver Broncos Fan! Thank you Wesley Woodyard and Darrell Reid, like BeastFromEast92 said your both CLASS ACT’s.
I will be in the South Stands on Sunday screaming my head off supporting MY TEAM!
Thanks again Gray you’ve done a Great job keeping Broncos Country informed and focused.
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
So i just did some math and number crunching and lets assume the following:
We beat Oak, Phi, and KC
NE beats Buf, Jax and Hou
Cin beats SD, KC and loses to NYJ (or even if lose to KC and beat NYJ)
and
SD loses to SD and Ten and beats Was (or loses to Was and beats Ten)
Then we have #2 seed, NE has #3 seed, and Cin has #4 seed with SD making wild card at #5.
I know that sounds like a lot but it is very possible!
Cody,
I really like the part where SD loses to SD….if only it could be true…lol
This is what happens when you are trying to discuss football while supposedly working….lol…That was supposed to be If SD loses to Cin
Beastfromeast….. We wouldnt play the Ravens if they were the other wild card. The Broncos will play the Fourth seed and whoever is the other wildcard team will play the three seed. so as of right now it looks like we will be playing the Patriots in the first round of the playoffs.
Now lets go out there on Sunday and play some sound football against those faiders.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!
Guys, just got back on the computer, got all the picks, 16 so far, a little slow if you ask me, nothing to be scared of this week, is everybody taking the week off? LOL.
FTR, I got you down with your first pick, it was 34-10.
baylin: I need to make a real quick pick so here goes. Speedlimit 55 Faiders 16
Wesley Woodyard,
