This Sunday’s game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High is Fan Appreciation Day, and fans in attendance will receive a Gameday program featuring team captain Wesley Woodyard on the cover.
The cover story, titled “Breakout Bronco,” chronicles Woodyard’s rise from undrafted free agent to one of the league’s most productive linebackers.
Five years ago, linebacker Wesley Woodyard was fighting for a roster spot as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky.
This season, he’s fighting for a Pro Bowl berth as one of the AFC’s most productive linebackers.
Through 15 games, Woodyard is one of just four AFC players with at least 100 tackles, a sack and an interception. He’s set career highs in almost every category this season, including his three interceptions and four sacks.
“I’m trying to continue to work on my craft and get better every day,” Woodyard said. “My teammates believe in me, and I’ve just been having fun out there this year. Not worrying about anything, just going out there and playing football.”
The program also features Q&As with running back Knowshon Moreno and Quarterbacks Coach Adam Gase.

AWESOME!!
Great lesson for us all. Hard work, and patience pays off. I read somewhere that we use the story of TD for the younger players, as Davis was a late round pick, who made the team for his special teams play. Looks like we have another example in Woodyard!
It’s been a season to remember! Hopefully will end with a Championship ring and Trophy!
More on Wood.

Kudos to you Wesley. I knew you could step in and do a good job. But you have done a great job instead and helped bring the Otange Crush attitide back to the Denvet defense. I stated before the season started that if the offense could average around 30 points per game (29.5) and the defense average around 20 (19.1) the Broncos would win a lot of ball games. You guys have done that and this win streak has been seventh heaven for us Bronco fans. From Moline,IL., I hope the streak reaches 14, which would be a Super Bowl Win! Go ,go Broncos, Crush the Cheifs and go Indy and Miami tomorrow afternoon!!!
Showed alot of promise in his rookie season. Preseason mostly … he was on fire. But after that he kinda stalled plus we switched from 4-3 to 3-4 and he was always a 4-3 LB … he has also stepped up his coverage because as our fastest LB for some reason he used to get beat alot. The potential has always been there, its just finally being realized … and a great supporting cast helps, which we haven’t had on defense in a long time. Congrats to Wood.
Was great to meet such a Great man and player keep up the great work on and off feild
