The Broncos signed linebacker Johnny Williams on Thursday morning, waiving Nick Greisen to make room on the roster.
Williams, a former college free agent from Kentucky, spent last preseason with Jacksonville before signing onto Pittsburgh’s practice squad at the end last season. The Steelers waived the 24-year-old on July 30.
While at Kentucky — where he spent time in the same linebacking corps as new teammate Wesley Woodyard — Williams accumulated 131 tackles in 49 career games.
The 6-foot-2, 246-pound linebacker is expected on the field for today’s 2:30 p.m. practice at Dove Valley. He will wear No. 54.

First!
Hopefully we will give up fully on Griesen once and for all since it seems the guy is never healthy enough to contribute, if that’s what it is, maybe they just flat out thought he coudn’t cut it here, but point would be why does it take so long to figure that out.. Other than that just another practice squad player added to the team… Hip hip hip, NOT.
lol Harsh on all counts Bay. I do agree on Griesen tho. Never seems to make the cut. I say we leave that in the past. This guy on the other hand. Nothing special like u say, just another body but a PITS practice Squader is definitely worth a look. And his measurements aint bad. And we are hard pressed for LB help, ill take it but yea, not excited lol which is what i am guessing the hip hip hip, NOT was all about lol
Fourth!
wow!!! Another player singed. Maybe one of this signings will become our diamond in the ruff!!!
If its any consolation….i like his grillz
i dont get it how the raiders get jason campbell and now all of a sudden their considerd a playoff team WOW. Campbell is 7 of 13 for 49 yards on the night. I know its preseason but still jason couldnt even get a talented washington team into the playoffs how is he going to take a Raider team into the playoffs thats Bull ****
The reason that people are speaking so highly of the Raiders is because even Jason Campbell is a huge upgrade at QB compared to Jamarcus Russel. And Campbell is no slouch, either. Like it or not, QB was really all that was holding them back before, and with a decent one they are now a legitimate threat.
