Denver was nominated for a pair of yearly awards on Monday morning. First, quarterback Peyton Manning was announced as one of three finalists for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Year Award.
Soon after, the Broncos were named one of five finalists for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Year for their historic comeback at San Diego in Week 6.
In the win, Denver trailed 24-0 at half and stormed back to score 35 unanswered points and win the game 35-24. It was the first win of the club’s 11-game win streak.
The comeback included two defensive touchdowns from cornerbacks Tony Carter and Chris Harris on a fumble return and interception return, respectively. It also featured a textbook touchdown connection from Peyton Manning — who overcame the largest deficit of his career — to wideout Brandon Stokley in the back right corner of the end zone, and a hard-fought Eric Decker touchdown reception in which he carried multiple tacklers across the goal line.
The five finalists were selected among 17 of the most memorable GMC Never Say Never Moments during the 2012 NFL season. Fans can vote for the winner by clicking here through 7:00 p.m. MST on Thursday, January 24.
The winner will be presented the award in New Orleans, the site of Super Bowl XLVII, at NFL Honors, a two-hour primetime awards special to air nationally on February 2, 7-9 p.m. MST on CBS.

This should be the winner. Every other moment was great but it was for the game. This was the comeback for our whole season. Not just the game.
How the west was won!
Robert Ayers deserves an “assist” on that Tony Carter fumble recovery for a TD. He had the frame of mind to swat the ball towards the Denver backfield with one arm, while on the ground, making the entire play possible. Great heads up play by Ayers!
I swear OT, I have watched this 100 times and still can’t tell if Ayers was trying to scoop it to himself with one arm and smacked it to Carter by accident or if he notice Carter and smacked it his direction on purpose. Either way it was awesome but I can not for the life of me recognize his intent.
I think he was intentionally attempting to knock it backwards, but not to Carter specifically. Knocking it in our direction increases the chances for a recovery, as more defenders are around. He couldn’t have been trying to recover it himself, b/c one arm was tied up and not free. Just my take.

I think it would be nuts to win this.
I was born and raised a Bronco fan, and never in my 27 years of life have i witnessed such a great comeback! with all do respect to the great Bronco players past
