It’s been more than a month since the last Watching the Mocks, and plenty more voices have chimed in.
From NFL.com, Charley Casserly, Michael Lombardi, Bucky Brooks and Pat Kirwan each have the Broncos selecting Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus with the second overall pick.
Their peer at the network, Steve Wyche, predicts the pick will be Clemson defensive lineman Da’Quan Bowers.
Another NFL Network writer, Albert Breer, enlisted the help of a college scout from the AFC for his mock draft. Breer (via the scout) sees LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson headed to Denver.
Sports Illustrated’s Don Banks has updated his mock draft, and he echoes many of the NFL Network predictions of a Dareus selection.
ESPN.com’s Mel Kiper and Todd McShay differ on their guesses for the Broncos’ pick, and McShay brings up a name not often tied to the Broncos — Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller.
He has the Carolina Panthers selecting Dareus with the No. 1 pick, and said that while “Dareus should be the pick if he’s available,” in a choice between Peterson and Miller, he predicts the Broncos would choose Miller for his pass-rushing abilities.
Kiper, on the other hand, sticks with his original pick and sees the Broncos taking Auburn defensive lineman Nick Fairley.
From CBSSports.com, Chad Reuter sees the Broncos going with Bowers, and Rob Rang predicts that Dareus will be the selection.
With the draft a little more than a month away, we will keep you updated as the mocks keep rolling in.

Those were good days BFE. And good days on the horizon.
Dangerous game, the trading down thing.
The only reason that they would go with such startegy to me is because they are equally in love with at least two or three guys so they would be confident one of them would be there at a lower pick and that very well could include Von Miller, just thinking here.
And I will watch the draft C.R, LOL.
srategy
strategy, geee…LOL.
I agree, you never know for sure what happened, but we have had more than our fair share of really good DE along the way and have not kept many of them.
I do however think Elvis DOOM could become our best ever! He certainly has the talent, and wasn’t he like a 4th round guy? Anyway, I’m still not sold on Ayers, but I hope he can prove his value this next season! We still need him to step-up and bug time!!!
If we get another front 7 STUD I think we’ll be in business!!! “Getting back to respectability”!!!
GO BRONCOS!!!
I think Howard Griffith was one of the most under-rated guys on those Super Bowl Teams!!!
He used to make those holes so big for TD and they were a great tandem in our backfield!!!
Hail Howard Griffith!!!
Yeah… that’s what I thought…
Funny true2 brings up Howard Griffith, a FB is exactly who I have been clamoring Fox is in dire need of in this draft, but hardly anyone else goes there….
Instead I hear Spencer Larsen, LOL.
I think Ayers is a bust for a 1st rounder
A bust at OLB, but he is a DE, let’s wait and see what he does there. I personally believe he will surprise a lot of folks.
I was talking to a browns fan today about Hillis. He said that he still can’t believe everything we gave for Quinn. i told him that Cleveland should give us back the draft picks.
Unfortunately McD set him back two years, but that’s nothing next to how many years he set the franchise back.
Unless he gets 10+ sacks i say he is abust .
Yah we you think 5 1st rounders we had and none have made any real impact. Look at Green Bay with Raji and Mathews. Then look at all the terrible trades.
baylinorcrush,
Totally Agree!!! We have need a FB for about 9 years now!!! Ever since Howard Griffith last played. Plus some of them along the way have been rediculous!!! Larsen doesn’t cut the mustard for me either.
I liked him as a LB at Arizona though!!!
If we could go back in time I wish they would have kept Peyton Hillis at FB and had another good (RB) back too boot!!!
When you think( Opps)
Griffin was a beast. I was glad to see him get 2 Tds in the SB agaist atlanta.
The nice thing about a good FULL BACK is you can get a REALLY GOOD one late in the draft!!! Most teams don’t value then at all!!!
Alstot, Rathman, Griffith . . . tell those guys weren’t valued by their teams!!!
Plus short yardage they are great for a few yards straight up the gut!!!
About Fox and fullbacks, just an example of how he loves them:
The Panthers go three deep with quality fullbacks for 2008 so they are set. Brad Hoover is 6’0″, 245 pounds and he’s a solid all around fullback as he is a decent blocker, runner and receiver.
Nick Goings is essentially a tailback playing fullback. He is 6’0″, 225 pounds which means he might not be the best lead blocker around but he’s a solid runner and receiver.
Troy Fleming also brings a nice skill set to the Panthers. He is 6’0″, 245 pounds and he’s a solid blocker and receiver.
I know why Fox never speaks of fullbacks per say as a strong area of needs, it’s because he is only too happy to see that the media is totally missing that boat so he can keep a low profile in the draft in that regard, but I am onto you Mr Fox, can’t outsmart this old fox too easily, haha.
Just an fyi 1997 team M D Perry was let go right b/4 the playoffs cuz he pissed Shanny off by wanting the last couple of games off to rest.He was picked up by KC who we beat in the playoffs. He was one of the reasons we lost to Jacksonville in 1996. He couldn’t get his big butt off the field and we were penatlized for 12 players on the field when the Jags were punting. That gave the jags a 1st Down.
What makes me so comfortable reading Fox is that we are only 6 months apart in age, that’s gotta account for something.
I’ve got it put TEBOW at Fullback!!! LOL
LMAO
I wouldn’t be surprised to see LenDale moved to fullback…
Talking about age, I couldn’t read crap from McD, LOL.
I would not mind that at all!!! LenDale White reminds me of the skill set and body type of a bruising FB!!!
Could you 35 year old bloggers read McD ok? Hahahaha.
Nice call baylinorcrush!!!
Either that or draft a good one late. Or maybe do both just in case.
I Totally agree with you guys about having a good FB,something McD didn’t rely on,but a position that has to be filled to have a great running game,Larsen is a ST player at best,IMO.Zoneblocking, aquiring another RB and a good FB,sounds like the blueprint to a successful running game for the Broncos!!!
Hopefully they get this stupid cba figured out,so we can concentrate on trading and drafting, but don’t hold your breath!
So how old are you Bay???
Do both, Fox loves multiple FBs as I pointed out earlier so they don’t wear down in his run heavy O, gone are the days of a single FB or none at all!!!
I’m 6 months older than Fox.
John Fox (born February 8, 1955) is an American Football coach who is currently head coach of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League.
WIKI
Fox just turned 56 on February 8th.
Bingo.
And I thought I was the oldest blogger on here!!! LMAO
All good man!!!
Heck no, since 1972 is a cool blogger and he is over 70!!!!
right on – I was born in 1972! LOL
tnalen66,listen to Bay and give Ayers at least 1 year back at his natural position (DE),then if he dosen’t do anything,I’ll consider him a bust myself, some players can’t make the transition from DE to OLB.
Bay is the wiki around here,LMAO!
You’re making me feel young!!! Love the old TRUE MILE HIGH MAGIC FANS!!!
THE REAL MILE HIGH CLUB!!!
1972 is my favorite year of all the ones I have lived because of many reasons that I don’t need to discuss on this blog, but I can proudly say here my cabin cruiser the “Orange Crush” was built in 1972.
LOL – CLASS-SICK!!!
If you haven’t sat in the original MILE HIGH can you reall call yourself a Denver Broncos FAN???
Hey hey hey old guys lol I never sat in the original MILE HIGH and I know I am a true Broncos fan. We was jus poor and couldnt afford to go to any games.
Well, we were just lucky to be there, the younger ones will make their own memories, but yeah, that stadium will never be reproduced, just like going to our first SB in 1977 and winning our first one in 1997, those moments will never be equalled, no matter how many more SBs we win, I definitely lived at the right time, having been a die hard fan through the 6 SBs.
Sorry to hear that 88.
The most magical moment I personally had at Mile High was attending the “Fumble” game that sent us to our 3rd SB in 1987. That stadium and the fans that day were pure magic.
I remember seeing the biggest RAT I’ve ever seen at Mile High Stadium! It seriously looked like a Ferrett, but it was just a happy stadium RAT!!! LOL
Has anyone else seen one of those???
Yeah, they were wearing some of those ugly Raider things….
