Nice Aussie. I was gonna say bowling. Maybe lingere bowling…

  2. BroncoAussie says:

Again nice sndvl, anything that involves women in lingere, expect maybe sumo haha.

  3. 1nOnlyTRB says:

hahaha @ except maybe sumo. never seen a lingerie bowl. i sure would watch a lingerie football league. More Divas but less egos lol. At least it will make sense why they are divas lmao

  4. sndvl says:

Just saw my 1st Tebow commercial. His shirt is cooler than mine!

Ok 2 problems. 1st they introduced him as QB Tim Tebow (umm, should it be DENVER BRONCOS QB Tim Tebow?) and 2nd, why ist he throwing some passes from the pocket. That is if he wants to remain the BRONCOS QB?

  5. 1nOnlyTRB says:

lmao…his shirt was pretty cool. is that the underwear commercial people were talking about? all he had was a shirt on … nothing crazy. Thought they meant boxers/undies or something … big woop. sounds like a lot of noise about nothing. was a shirt lol

  6. strandoftds says:

Broncosfreak30, I`ll be ready for a N.E. game big time.

  7. strandoftds says:

there is most likely going to be more than just one commercial.

  8. Mikeyb1203 says:

I have to say that Ray Lewis is better than Patrick Willis and also I believe that the powers that be will take either Miller or Peterson after watching that press conference today. Xanders and Elway both were saying that DL is deep and that they were looking to draft the best player filling in the other positions with FA. Also about Martez Wilson, he is big and fast but he lacks the big hit ability if you watch any of his highlight videos he never makes direct contact and drives the runners back it seems snatches them and then he over powers them and slings them to the ground. I’m not saying he won’t be good in the NFL but I don’t think he will be able to do that against the bigger backs of the NFL. Last thing I would rather go with Miller than Peterson if that is what EF-X is thinking about doing because yes Miller may not be the best cover LB in the draft but he is fast enough and can be taught how to cover well.

  9. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Yea Mikeyb may be ray lewis but I just plain dont like the guy lol. Plus I just think that Patrick Willis is phenomenal and works with subpar talent around him unlike the Ravens. While I dont like him, Ray Lewis is good and one of t he best to ever do it, no doubt. As far as Martez I think technique can be taught and coached as far as tackling. I hear he does well in cover and well in blitzing. Just depends on if the gang is going more for OLB or ILB i suppose. Im glad u noticed that he said he would draft the best as well, not to mention PP and VM are the only guys to have started all their years in school. It can still swing either way but drafting for best statement resonated in my head. and Ive been saying DL is deep and fox said that months ago as well. Im interested to see how this goes…

  10. socalbigbroncofan says:

    @ sndvl
if they put Tim Tebow qb of Denver Broncos they have to pay the NFL. Any thing they say about the NFL or show like a team emblem they to pay them.

  11. Mikeyb1203 says:

The reason I think it will be Miller is they were saying best player, and that some positions drop off. The other day on NFL network they were saying after the first couple of LB’s they drop off in quality so maybe they have the same opinion as EF-X?

  12. BroncoAussie says:

Yet the only guy they said they had multiple visits with was Peterson. And the BPA points more towards him. I think it could go either way. I have a feeling they will trade down if offered.

  13. Mikeyb1203 says:

I don’t think anyone will trade down to our spot with so much uncertainty. No CBA means no FA so teams have to fix the holes they have in the draft and also I don’t think we will accept future draft picks because of what Elway said about the possibility of not having a draft next year.

  14. BroncoAussie says:

Maybe but teams who want QBs and have holes at the QB position will have to trade up to get one, so that won’t surprise me.

I doubt the NFL goes the way of no draft so I don’t think they will be too worried about future picks. But then again who knows. The draft is such a big event now so I doubt they lose it.

  15. Mikeyb1203 says:

Who knows I don’t personally see it happening but then again I may be very wrong.

  16. Mikeyb1203 says:

Lol and the final reason they go Miller is because that is the guy that both PP and MD guys can agree on so in order to maker everyone happy EF-X chooses Miller lol jk.

  17. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Yea BA, you shoulda seen the smile on my face while I watched the conference. Knew PP was a long shot and possibly still might be but it just always made sense to me and im just hoping it makes sense to them as well. Its possible theres a trade up, they reason I say that is, while no one likes to give big money, they’d rather give big money to a QB than any other position. Especially if they need a QB so its still possible. Just unlikely. Especially since they will have to give up a lot just to move up 1-5 spaces or something. Gonna be itneresting.

Socalbig, thx for that info. didn’t know they would have to pay the NFL. Man, even with our best efforts to boycott. The NFL can make money without doing anything. I can’t believe they are still being greedy.

  18. 1nOnlyTRB says:

lmao @ the guy both camps can agree on lol

  19. baylinorcrush says:

Von Miller!!!, The guy everybody here can agree on???? Just two weeks ago I was made fun of when I said he was my second option…. Many bloggers then said no way he can help us in the 43, including you TRB, but now the wind blows that way and all of a sudden everyone has no problem buying into it? You guys are killing me!

  20. baylinorcrush says:

But it’s not a shoe in for Von Miller yet as Elway seems to point out:

    Von Miller, Linebacker, Texas A&M
“Well, Von, he’s a guy that when you turn on the film you don’t even have to know what number he is. That’s how dynamic he is. He’s a guy that’s all over the field. He is a guy that is 250 pounds and runs a 4.5 (second 40-yard dash), or under a 4.5. His production has been unbelievable to have 17 sacks his junior year and 10 sacks last year even though he was a little banged up last year. His production was unbelievable last year, but (he is) a guy that was really a pass rusher, so you’ve got to do some projection there. We know he can rush the passer, but can he help us on first and second down and learn first and second down, where he’s going to have to drop in coverage and cover some running backs and some tight ends? Each guy has a different equation. It’s just a matter of — once we get through that equation — figuring out what comes out the other end that’s best for the Denver Broncos. ” -Elway

That will get TRB going with his original thoughts on Von, the fact that he could be a liability covering the TEs which was a major weakness of ours.

  21. baylinorcrush says:

    Elway about PP:

    Patrick Peterson, Cornerback, Lousiana State
“He’s got great measurables, plays great and is a big-time playmaker. So, he’s a great football player.” -Elway

    Short but sweet.

  22. baylinorcrush says:

    Xanders about Dareus:

    Marcell Dareus, Defensive Lineman, Alabama
“He’s the biggest of them all. He’s a massive DT that’s versatile across the line of scrimmage. They play a 3-4 at Alabama. He plays anywhere from an eight technique on the tight end all the way down to nose. He’s a disruptive player. He’s hard to block when he’s stunting. He’s a physically strong guy. He’s probably the strongest defensive lineman.” -Xanders

    Nothing but positive there.

  23. baylinorcrush says:

    And about Fairley:

    Nick Fairley, Defensive Lineman, Auburn
“Nick Fairley is a pure three technique. He’s a disruptive, productive, competitive three technique. He’s a very tall, linear, athletic player. He’s a former basketball player. He’s got long arms and he has very good athleticism on the move. He’s a disruptive guy and he’s very hard to block. His production was very, very high for what he did. He was basically a one-year starter but he did very well with his opportunities. He’s got a big upside physically because he’s still developing.” -Xanders

It’s obvious that he is the only one mentioned here as a one year starter, a developing guy, and I think that would write him off as the #2 pick since we need someone with that pick who is an instant contributor. Only way we pick him is if we trade back and he is the only one out of the four left on the board.

But Dareus, Von Miller and PP are by their accounts and just about evreyone else’s the top three ready to go athletes in this darft and by a long shot.

So then the next thing is front 7 or secondary?

Do you take the best player player regardless period or you start thinking of “what’s best for the Denver Broncos” as Elway said.

As everyone knows, I think you ultimately go the way of Fox, who remained strangely absent in this press conference btw, and go front 7. After all, he is the one who ultimately is supposed to all make it work on the field, right? And I will remind everyone that he always said that he feels our secondary is in “good shape” and that he also has said that he turned things around in Carolina mainly rebuliding their front seven while their secondary was “adequate” when explaining the team’s complete turn around when he took over.

    So DT or LB?

I truly believe that’s where we’re at, what used to be the Dareus vs. PP debate can now become the Dareus vs. Von Miller debate, at least I think that would be more productive, not to mention I already got my PP root canal, and that’s something I want to go through only once in a lifetime, LOL.

  24. baylinorcrush says:

    BTW, Elway also said:

“We feel that there are four or five guys up there (at No. 2) that can really help us.”

So I don’t know who that fifth one is, unless it’s meant to be one of the others mentioned in the press conference, either Bowers or Newton, but I would think he probably meant to say there are only four guys who can help us there, forget five, and even then, Fairley only if they trade back in my opinion, he would definitely have high odds of still being there down to the 5th through 8th picks, and PP might too as pointed out by freak30 the other day (because of teams needs), but the two Fox will most likely really be after, Dareus and Von Miller, no way fall back that far, hence I believe we will not trade down and pick one of them with the #2. That’s about as concise as I can be about all this without making my official draft contest entry. That will have to wait just a little longer….

  25. strandoftds says:

Bay, I hope your PP root canal didn`t cost you that much. Flippen expensive stuff there. LOL

  26. broncosfreak30 says:

Bay, while I agree with Brian with some of the things that he said about Dareus, he was COMPLETELY wrong when he said he was the strongest DL in this class.

His 23 bench reps compared to Paea’s 49 bench reps are not even close to compare!! I think the thing that most helps out Dareus that I’ve seen is his speed. He’s got great speed for a man with 319 pounds on him and whenever you have that much on you and put as much speed as you have into OL it’s going to push them backwards. It’s one of the things that makes the bull rush effective!

  27. baylinorcrush says:

And thanks Woody for contributing to my cause this morning:

I go back and forth on the issue, honestly, even at night lying in bed. And I imagine John Elway is having problems sleeping. If they could move down in the first round and stay in the top 10 — and get a second-round choice, and maybe a fourth or fifth — they’d still get a quality player who could start for them, perhaps Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley (who I’m not high on), North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn or even LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson. DL Cameron Jordan out of Cal might be worthy

Then they’d have two extra draft choices — including three in the second round, where they could get a defensive tackle (Marvin Austin, North Carolina), a running back (Mikel Leshoure from Illinois) and UCLA’s Akeem Ayers (a rush linebacker) or his teammate Rahim Moore, the best safety in the draft. Then they’d get the four starters they’re looking for. Then they could fill in later with a tight end, another defensive lineman, an offensive tackle and another linebacker. That sounds very attractive.

But I’m convinced that the right way to go is take Marcell Dareus. He will be a Pro Bowler, and certainly an immediate player.

Basically everything I just said (outside of mentioning Von Miller), that Fairley and PP would be available if we trade down some, but the way to go is stay at two and take Dareus (or Von Miller).

  28. baylinorcrush says:

And Woody goes on and I couldn’t agree more:

Despite what the bloggers (who only know what they read in the newspaper or from some other blogger trying to get attention) say, the Broncos haven’t talked to one team about making a trade.

So forget the talks about Cincinnati, Arizona, San Francisco and Washington. Elway and Mike Shanahan haven’t talked once, and the Broncos have made no phone calls. If a deal happens, it will go the night before or the day of the draft. It’s possible that Arizona or Tennessee or Washington could fire a shot to get the Broncos’ pick, but I seriously doubt it. There’s no CBA, and the No. 2 pick could cost $40 million, unless there are changes in the rookie pay scale.

Washington doesn’t have the picks to offer. Arizona hates to trade and likes its young quarterbacks. Cincinnati’s Carson Palmer is not going anywhere. I would guess the only possibilities are Tennessee, which needs a quarterback in the worst way now, or San Francisco with Jim Harbaugh as the coach wanting to start over.

There are two problems, however. You’re not going to have time to develop a quarterback before the season, and these aren’t life-changing quarterbacks we’re talking about. Cam Newton is an uncertainty, just as Tim Tebow was, and Blaine Gabbert, just as Tebow, didn’t take snaps from center. He may be the closest thing to a future great quarterback.

Ryan Mallett was awful last year when I saw him, and I don’t trust his future. And the others are risk factors, so you might as well wait and see if you can get a Christian Ponder or some such later in the second round or a Jake Locker later in the first round. No way are the Broncos are taking a quarterback, no matter what you might hear. Just take Dareus, and line him up, I say.

You guys can all hope and plead for trades but the state of the NFL and the QB class this year are just not conducive to it.

  29. strandoftds says:

One week until the truth be known. Marcell is the man.

  30. broncosfreak30 says:

Yea Bay, while I still think that Peterson is in the running, I do think however that it will be between Miller and Dareus. They had most things to say about Miller and like I posted earlier about how whenever he steps onto the field, you do not need to know what number he is on the field to know who he is. That to me speaks out more than anything that was said, obviously we need a complete disruptive player like that on our front 7 and I think him combined with Doom and Ayers would be straight up dominating!!! Miller seems to have that attitude that Champ has, I just get that same vibe!

  31. baylinorcrush says:

And Woody is picking us to go 6-10 this season, just like Carnagebronc did yesterday…

  32. strandoftds says:

I was listening to Adam Schefter talking on 850 KOA the other day and he said that there is a great chance the way things are going that the pay scale for rookies will be just like last years. He said it`s more likely then not. We`ll see.

  33. strandoftds says:

6-10 season. Well we got to start somewhere. I can live with that. But 2012 is a whole new ball game with much better things to come.

  34. broncosfreak30 says:

Also Bay…I still say we trade down.

We could get our 4 prime starters if we pick up an extra 2nd round pick and possible get 5 prime starters. Most likely Miller and Dareus will not be there but the probably would if we would trade with Arizona and move to 5! Newton, Gabbert, Dareus, Miller, and Green will all most likely go in the top 5. I think we can for sure count Newton, Gabbert, Miller, and Green and I think Dareus would still be there at #5! If not then we could take Peterson.

Point is, Elway said that they were going to draft best player available and not biggest need which is what I have been wanting them to do!! That best player would most likely be either Peterson or Miller. Our biggest need is hands down DT but we can address that in the 2nd round and in FA Elway said. He said that with the FA being after the draft that it allows us to draft best player available and then fill in our main needs in FA which makes most sense!! I still want us to take two DT in this draft though!

    Austin/Paea baby!!

  35. baylinorcrush says:

And on a good positive note:

With the NFL draft coming up next week, the Broncos have been taking a long, hard look at Tebow’s former backup, Cam Newton, and Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert, but that doesn’t seem to bother Tebow.

“I’m only worried about what I can control, and that is to go out there and be the best I can be,” Tebow said. “I’m working out and trying to improve. I mean, I have a good relationship with Coach Fox and John Elway. And I’m really excited about the new offense Mike McCoy is putting in.”

Sure sounds like it will be quite different from the McD O, we saw some of McCoy’s O in the last three games but obviously with Fox emphasis on the running game it should look quite new to all of us, and if Tebow likes it that’s a good start.

  36. baylinorcrush says:

Freak30, I’m well aware you do, think we’ll trade down, last thing I would want to do is try to talk you out of it, LOL.

  37. broncosfreak30 says:

    Strand…

I will probably say 9-7 just to be a little optimistic. I think switching back to our 4-3 defense is going to vastly improve our defense with just the players that we have already!! Also with changing running schemes as well to back when TD used to be with us and all those other 1000 yard rushers. I know we have a hell of a hard season this year but I have a good feeling from Fox and Elway that seems to make me believe that we are heading in the right way!

Fox turned the Panthers losing season from 1-15 to 7-9 in one season. We won 4 games last year so I say we win 5 more this year just with all of our improvements and changes. Most of all of our defensive players have been said to wanting to change back to the 4-3 so it will be a huge adjustment!

  38. strandoftds says:

I`m optimistic about HC Fox as well. We are going to run the ROCK alot this year. It`ll remind me of the Dan Reeves years.

  39. broncosfreak30 says:

Haha, yea we each know Bay that the other is not going to convince one another and change each others minds. With all of our needs is a reason I think we move just a little down. If we didn’t have so many needs then I wouldn’t ever think of trading the #2 pick. It sounds absurd but makes perfect sense with all the good defensive players that will be there in the 2nd round!

I will say however, if we trade and get picks for next year, will push me over the EDGE!!! We need picks all this year and I understand that there will probably be a season next year, but we never know!! They also discussed this and seem aware of all the risks and red flags on the players and each situation so they have done their hw which I am very happy for!!

  40. broncosfreak30 says:

Bay about what you said on McCoy’s O…

I loved how he used his play action plays last year and Tebow did great with them!! I am sure we will use those and screens a lot this year with how well they worked out for us those last few games!! Mixing that in with a great running game could be phenomenal!!

  41. broncosfreak30 says:

Here’s a great video on Miller and Quinn on ESPN!!!

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/hot?id=6394817

  42. broncosfreak30 says:

“I think my feeling on that is it actually helps us with the draft. Because now we can find the best players that are on that draft board … and then really fill in with free agency,” Elway said. “Rather than having free agency and then filling through the draft, because if you’re filling through the draft, then you’re drafting to need.

“I think there’s several different opinions about that, but that’s kind of my gut is that it doesn’t put the pressure for us to draft a need in the draft.”

  43. broncosfreak30 says:

The player that they spoke of the most and was most high on was Von Miller!!

” -Elway

  44. baylinorcrush says:

I guess 6:20 am was too early for you to read my post.

  45. baylinorcrush says:

Anyway, here is the proof that everybody reads into things however they want it to come out, because it sure didn’t sound all positive to me as I stated earlier. We had the same thing happen with a Williamson article the other day.

  46. baylinorcrush says:

It was about D Linemen where I read it that Dareus was the only DL pick that wasn’t a risk, where as you guys read it as if every DL pick in this draft was a risk, just too funny, power of self persusasion it’s called, LOL.

But I do agree that Von Miller is plenty positive and would make the best 2nd option to me after Dareus as previously stated.

  47. broncosfreak30 says:

I will say this right now!!

I just looked up Suh’s highlight videos and thought he was pretty fast and looked at his 40 and he posted a 4.98 in the 40!!! That makes Dareus quicker at an impressive 4.92 while being at least 20 pounds heavier!! That is impressive! Even though Suh posted 32 reps compared to Dareus’s mere 23!!

  48. broncosfreak30 says:

Also I would LOVE getting Marvin Austin in this draft!! At 310, he ran a 4.8. That is very nice!!!

Either way take two DL in this draft out of Dareus, Austin, Paea, and Nevis!! They are all too good not to get at least two of them!!

  49. broncosfreak30 says:

    Yea Bay…

I wasn’t up that early to read that post, haha! I completely understand that they weren’t saying anything bad about Dareus, I just think talent wise that Fairley, Austin, and Paea are just as good as him but that is just me!!

I just see Miller being the best choice because Fox has said that he wants our defense to be really fast and last year we couldn’t cover RB’s or TE’s at all to save our life!! Just take the Rams game for example!!

Unfortunately, me and strand had to watch that game where the TE’s looked like they were #1 receivers!! Miller would give us that speed on defense and pass rush!

But as long as we get Peterson, Miller, or Dareus then I guess I will be happy!!

  50. baylinorcrush says:

Freak30, slowly but surely you’re starting to drift my way in this draft thing, haha.
