Vote for Tebow, Miller

October 25th, 2011 - 10:54am by Kenny Legan

Two Denver Broncos are up for national awards this week for their performances against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Quarterback Tim Tebow’s rally, which led the Broncos to a historic comeback, is one of three candidates for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week. Down 15-0 with under three minutes left, Tebow threw two touchdown passes en route to the Broncos’ 18-15 overtime win. With Tebow’s performance, the Broncos became the first team in NFL history since the 1970 merger to come back from 15 points or more with under three minutes left in the fourth quarter and win.

Fans can vote for Tebow at NFL.com/gmc from now until Friday at 10 a.m. MDT.

Plaxico Burress’ three touchdown receptions and the Ben Roethlisberger to Mike Wallace 95-yard touchdown connection are the other two nominated performances. The winner will be announced during NFL Network’s “Around the League” show Friday and will also be recognized on NFL.com.

But Tebow isn’t the only Broncos player up for national accolades this week.

Rookie linebacker Von Miller has been nominated for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. Miller had five tackles in Sunday’s victory, including one sack. Miller now has a sack in five consecutive games and his six sacks lead all NFL rookies.

Fans can vote for Miller at NFL.com/rookies from now until Friday at 10 a.m. MDT as well.

Running backs Mark Ingram and De Marco Murray as well as quarterbacks Cam Newton and Christian Ponder are the other rookies nominated for the weekly award. The winner will be announced Friday on NFL Network’s NFL Total Access and NFL.com.

HA … just saw the power rankings as well … that is a funny caption.

    Broncos win 23 – 19

I think we are gonna stop them alot but thier kicker who is really accurate will have a field day in denvers altitude.

Many factors … we got injuries to guys like doom … and they got injuries to guys like stafford … so we will see.

As far as doom … 1 year out of football and no offseason … he is playign like it … also … he has always been just good in 4-3 … he is however fantastic in 3-4 … All I really expected from him this year is to get double teamed and give guys like von and ayers a chance to make plays. Elvis is a young guy … he is still perfecting his craft as well. Aint expect all the injuries tho but then again … no offseason. TRB

Did y’all catch last night’s snooze fest? The interesting thing is teams coming off a bye seem to struggle a lot more than in recent years. Those obligatory days off really hurt.

Because Tebow is a play extender he just doesn’t want to throw the ball away and avoid a sack. That’s one thing, along with many, he needs to work on. Sometimes trying to extend the play instead of throwing it away can be worse than just throwing it away all the time. At least you don’t lose yardage but you don’t gain any either. You don’t need to throw it away all the time but in key situations you need to know that taking a sack will take you out of FG range or make it a tougher FG.
I do expect the home crowd to be going crazy and if they aren’t then the problem isn’t with the team but with the fans.

Costa Rica I think you’re right about the byes. I think that is what happened in our passing game. Fox even said before the bye the challenge would be getting a rhythm on offense after the bye. I think statistically Sunday was the worst three quarters we’ll see passing for the rest of the year. I guess only time will tell though.
And if Tim Tebow doesn’t get the never say never award after helping lead a come back the likes of which the modern NFL has never seen, then who does haha! That’d be sick if they both won they’re respective awards.

SNDVL I don’t know what you’re smokin brother. I get that without the team the comeback is not possible. But this is an individual award, always has been. I agree that DJ’s play was the Bronco play of the year. But what wins the award, one play or two touchdown drives and Tim calling his own number for the 2 pt conversion. I’m not taking anything away from the team, but the award goes to Tim plain and simple. And if the special teams didn’t believe he could score again do you think we see that kind of effort on the onside kick? Same could be said for DJ’s feverish effort. So you at least have to give Tim’s leadership some credit.

If Stafford is out then we`ll win this game. If he plays it could be a different story.

Tebow will get the never say never play of the week, but Miller will falll short to Murrays 253 yds rushing, but hey great job guys!!!!

Between Miller and Tebow it’s clear to me that Tebow get’s the vote, but if it were an open vote my vote would go to Fells for that catch on the three yard line. That was truely a never say never Superman type catch for a TE. You just don’t see TE’s diving for balls like that very often.

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !
