Two Denver Broncos are up for national awards this week for their performances against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Quarterback Tim Tebow’s rally, which led the Broncos to a historic comeback, is one of three candidates for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week. Down 15-0 with under three minutes left, Tebow threw two touchdown passes en route to the Broncos’ 18-15 overtime win. With Tebow’s performance, the Broncos became the first team in NFL history since the 1970 merger to come back from 15 points or more with under three minutes left in the fourth quarter and win.
Fans can vote for Tebow at NFL.com/gmc from now until Friday at 10 a.m. MDT.
Plaxico Burress’ three touchdown receptions and the Ben Roethlisberger to Mike Wallace 95-yard touchdown connection are the other two nominated performances. The winner will be announced during NFL Network’s “Around the League” show Friday and will also be recognized on NFL.com.
But Tebow isn’t the only Broncos player up for national accolades this week.
Rookie linebacker Von Miller has been nominated for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. Miller had five tackles in Sunday’s victory, including one sack. Miller now has a sack in five consecutive games and his six sacks lead all NFL rookies.
Fans can vote for Miller at NFL.com/rookies from now until Friday at 10 a.m. MDT as well.
Running backs Mark Ingram and De Marco Murray as well as quarterbacks Cam Newton and Christian Ponder are the other rookies nominated for the weekly award. The winner will be announced Friday on NFL Network’s NFL Total Access and NFL.com.

Already did!
Go Broncos!
I Believe!
I did as well.
This team did something unreal on sunday.
The game was ugly to say the least. I have seen Tebow be accurate and him calling the audible on the 2 pt conversion was of high football IQ.
If he can find a way to do these things consistently then he will be something. Right now though, there is a steep mountain to climb. It is evident that not having an offseason hindered him tremendously.
I like the kid and I believe in him.
Congrats, Tebow deserves it (well the whole team but u get the point) … and while millers stats through 6 games are impressive. De Marco Murray will probably get it because he had an amazing/unbelievable game. But I see Miller ending up DROYR with Cam as OROY and ROY.
TRB
At this point of the season it seems evident that the one word used even more often than Tebow is “believe”, the players used it to no end after the last game, the Bronco bloggers use it all the time, the Tebow disciples make it their mantra, it’s Tebow’s Christian name, I mean everywhere you turn it’s “believe”. It is fast becoming the unifying word in Bronco Country.
Big Fat and Ugly….but it counts. Gotta make major improvements though, especially if we want to make a run for the AFC WEST. That’s right, I said it. I believe in our team.
Lol, ironic that while Im writing my comment, Bay posts his before me talking about “believing.”
Hello all,
I apologize in advance for not remembering the particular blogger that stated this.
After the Broncos win and thus watching the other teams (San Diego & Oakland) lose….I instantly remembering a particular blogger stating that wouldn’t it be amazing if games kept playing out with wins and losses and had San Diego a game ahead with us, KC and Oakland tied after week 9…LOL!
It was funny to me because that’s how Sunday felt. Everything that could happen did! Just hilarious to me. We win, San Diego losses, and with the other two bottom feeders playing each other you hoped for a Oakland loss because of their record plus to show how STUPID that Palmer trade was!
Oakland, thanks for living up to my expectations of your organziation ya bunch of freaks!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
I mean, even if the Palmer trade works out for them short term. They gave up way too much for him, IMHO.
p.s. Dear Broncos coaching staff! Pleasssse don’t work on anything offensively but pass plays all week!
We know the kid can run, we know the kid can hand off a ball….but please, please give that kid some more experience throwing!
Timmy ol’ Timmy you got to hit em’ buddy! Keep your head up! Keep working your craft and it’ll come!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
It doesn’t seem as if the Raiders thought that one through, it’s as though with the Campbell injury they just freaked out. They probably have had time to reflect on it by now and are secretly thinking what in the heck did we just do? LMAO!
Well we need to get better at blocking and play selection. Tebow was seeing 9 man fronts last Sunday because they knew we were going to run most of the time. if we are going to make a run at the AFC west we can’t lose more than 2 games. Yeah I know its a lot to ask for but after seeing what I saw in the last 90 seconds of the game……anything is possible. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!
broncsbomer66,
I don’t even think it will work short term! It wasn’t like Carson was lighting the world on fire in Cincy the last year or two. But to your point, yeah it was a HUGE price to pay for him! In my opinion, Oakland will creep back to where they belong! There is NO WAY an organization can survive at this level with that kind of negotiating! I just don’t see it!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
The biggest concern has to be Tebow getting injured the way things have unraveled, 6 or 7 sacks Sunday against a team who doesn’t sack, and opening himself to big hits running the ball, I really see all that as the main reason he needs to stay in the pocket and deliver the ball quicker, long ways to go and as a Bronco fan you have to hope that he can survive the learning period without suffering a serious setback. There was an excellent article by Legwold about that I think.
Actually, as I was typing that last post, it was like Bay was on my shoulder LOL (not sure if it were the devil or the angel though) At any rate, how many times have we all discusses the consequences when bad deals, trades and player non-development are running rapid through an organziation?
It clearly can take it tole and if done at a rate that Oakland has done it, I can believe it will be turned around anytime soon! We’ll see but, I doubt it!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
With Willis M. out with his hand surgery I think we should look for another RB for a few weeks!
I’m in illinois, so if anyone living in the greater Denver area, could you run over to the mall and see if Tatum is still working his cell phone booth!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
Bay I really hope that doesn’t happen. I would drink myself into a coma if I had to watch orton come back the rest of this season. o god I cant even imagine it…
I’ll vote for Miller definitely. Excuse my reluctance voting for #15. Too bad the “team” wasn’t nominated.
sndvl, that doesn’t make much sense other than you are an Ortonite, this is for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week, not anything else and Tebow definitely had a never say never attitude better than anyone else on Sunday.
Glad to see DJ Williams make a very nice play there at the end. You could definitely see thal he was going all out on that play. Great determination.
“that”
Don’t know what’s up with Royal. Kind of disappointed. Something is up with that kid that we don’t know about. Read an article somewhere where they think his confidence is shot to shreds right now.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the Raiders started 4-0 and are now 4-3
and the Chiefs started 0-3 and are now 3-3.
That’s some funky AFC West stuff right there!
Maybe he read, the “GMC Never vote for Tebow Award.”
My question is why is coach Fox only naming starting QB’s by the game? How can you expect someone to get comfortable if they worry about the next game or making mistakes? Why not just keep Tim in the rest of the season and be done with it? Orton sure isn’t going to win for us and Quinn acts like he just dont care he is just waiting for the next contract. Just was wondering.
A Bronco friend of mine who watches every game with me said it was because Fox wants to push Tebow, and knowing Tebow’s mental strength, he might be the only player that it may be a good decision to do that with, but unorthodox nonetheless, it would ruin just about any other player.
It seems to me that this type of mentality is adding a lot of unnecessary pressure to someone that does not need that added to him right now.
See I knew you would have an answer
I am a bit nervous about my score prediction this week I will really want to get into a positive number status LOL.
Not sure what’s up the the Chargers either…. they looked out of sync on their last drive with time mgmt. Rivers is turning the ball over more this season than in years past. Glad they let that last game slip away.
I personally don’t think the current people in the organization..ie (Fox, Elway) “believe he is the future of the franchise. I just don’t see it. Again, this is my opinion.
Yeah, but the Chargers lead the division now, with Rivers they are never out of it, much like Tebow.
Wouldn’t it be something if we came back and became contenders in our division? All I could say to that is…WOW!!!!!!!
*with the chargers either
Chargers are still very talented, they are just under performing right now. They take on the personality of Coach Norv Turner. I was actually kind of impressed that he took a shot at Rex Ryan the other day.
One game at a time weatherman, like the Detroit one, haha.
Now see there bay, there you go again. Looking at the empty half of the glass. haha, just kidding. I was just doing some STRONG dreaming.
Good for Turner and it was done with a great sense of humor which is the part that surprised me, always thought of Turner as close to the vest and boring in his demeanor.
You know the Detroit game presents a huge connundrum for the Bronco fans, since I have only one prediction so far, I do have a number in my head but not ready to lay it down yet, too many important injuries to consider.
Chargers next 4 games:
Chiefs @ KC (MNF)
Packers
Raiders
Bears @ Chicago
I’m not giving my prediction yet but I really do have a gut feeling that this Detroit game can be won. Let’s all face this fact. It is on our home field and we all know how this team gets when our home croud gets into the game. Can reallky stir the pot for the opposing team sometimes. I expect to see some camera shaking going on this coming weekend.
Chiefs at KC, that outta be a good one!
Lots of red, haha.
Bears @Chicago, I see how you did it now, usually I expect to just see @KC, @Bears, oh well that was funny for a minute.
I agree with bay SNDVL … he is the definition of never say never … sure it was a team win … but just when everyone was thinking … man tebow is playing like crap he will “Never” be an NFL QB at this rate … he made things happen (with the help of his team) and it was like wow. Thats like saying plax doesn’t deserve it because he doesn’t pass to himself and he isnt on the oline protecting the QB long enough to get the ball to himself
Fox has been challenging Tebow since day one if anyone has noticed … like the scrimmage when the other QBs took on the 2nd string but he took on the first string D with back ups. And he said the same thing back then “Tebow is tough, he can handle it” … so I believe fox is truly trying to push Tebow like Bay said … the only way the kid will get better is if he is pushed
And o by the way while running only pass plays this week would help tebow … lets not forget we have a RB change and that Moreno will need all the practice he can get … especially going up against a dominant front 7.
Few things are clear tho.
1. Gotta pass more or defenses won’t play honest. They will stack the box because they know it will either be a QB run or RB run.
2. 13 consecutive first downs with run plays? really? I know we are trying to help tebow and make his passing down shorter but if we run all the time on first down … everyone is gonna see it coming … and then 3rd down the passing down … they will dial up a ridiculous blitz.
These are the 2 things clear to me right now … and just about everyone else that watched the game and that has been watching fox ball in Denver.
Later days, TRB out…
New power rankings, we moved up one spot and the caption about it is real funny:
25) 2-4 BRONCOS
Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, then Tebow. But, if Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, Tebow, of course, Tebow, Tebow.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Took if off their website… and added the @ sign afterward. LOL!
It’s “Orange Sunday” this weekend weatherman so you’re right !!
The fans are going to be amped up more than usual this weekend!!
That plus Tim Tebow starting his first home game of the season !!!!
It’s gonna be CRAAAAZY!
LMAO!
As for the vote. Tebow Tebow, Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow. Great catch by DMT. Tebow Tebow. Miraculous onside kick recovery. Tebow Tebow Tebow. Great catch by Fells. Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow. Tebow for 2 pts. Tebow Tebow Tebow Tebow. Bronco play of the year by DJ (which in my opinion should get the nomination. If its truly a never say never moment and not popularity Tebow contest). Tebow Tebow Tebow. 52 yard game winner by Prater to win the game after missing two earlier in the day. (Which would be my second nomination if it stayed true to a never say never moment vote. Instead of a popular Tebow vote). Tebow Tebow Tebow. He won’t need my vote anyway.
Here is an easier version for typists everywhere:
