Vote for Tebow

December 29th, 2010 - 10:40am by Gabe Hiatt

After leading the Broncos to a comeback victory in his first home start, Tim Tebow is in the running for several Week 16 awards.

For the second time this season, Tebow is up for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week, and you can vote for the rookie’s comeback as the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week.

Denver trailed 17-0 at halftime, but Tebow accounted for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help lead his team to 24-23 victory. The quarterback completed 16-of-29 passes for 308 yards with one touchdown and one interception — good for a passer rating of 89.4 — and had 10 carries for 27 yards and one rushing TD.

He threw for the most yards by a Broncos rookie quarterback since John Elway passed for 345 yards against the Baltimore Colts in 1983. Frank Tripucka is the only other quarterback in franchise history to bring the Broncos back from that large of a halftime deficit (he did it twice — in 1960 and ’62).

Tebow’s 308 passing yards also tie for the most by a rookie signal-caller this season.

You can vote for Tebow here and here.

    He deserves it

  2. baylinorcrush says:

Done my duty, you got my vote Tim.

  3. casinoroyal19 says:

    already have. congrats tebow

  4. caramelloo says:

I voted 3x’s today and will go back for more. Bay your loose logic makes way too much sense. Why did we have to be in this position this week?! Why couldn’t it been last week!! This is a week where the teams we need to win are playing games where they are sure to loose.

  5. strandoftds says:

I VOTED! I have a good feeling on this one. I think TIM TEBOW will win. HaHa!!

  6. 1nOnlyTRB says:

You dont gotta ask me twice…and yes tebow will win…he is the number 1 most sold jersey in the NFL. And all the people that bought the Jersey are not all neccesarily Bronco fans…His fandom is widespread unfortunately for as many people like him there are those who dont like him for no reason at all. Best luck to Tebow winning this award. He deserves it.

  7. caramelloo says:

I agree 1nOnlyTRB. Several of my friends who are die hard Saints fans loveeeeeeee them some Tebow. They’ve liked him since his high school days. Even when Florida played LSU they pulled for him to do good.

Winning or losing the next game is pretty important. The decision to lose is pretty easy to figure out. We lose we get a great draft pick. We win however also has its advantages. We are in the market for a new HC. Most people would like us to get a coach like gruden or cohwer. Winning doesnt mean we will get either. What matter is how our guys perform. TT has played great so far. Our defense showed some grit to not quit last week. A large majority of these guys will be on the team next year. Our new HC will have deal with this as they take over. Most people thought of the chargers as a pretty good team this year and if we were to best them…great…if not we need to play well to show some fight to our potentail HC. If we want a top notch HC we can’t just fold. We dont have to win. The team just needs to play well. My guess is Gruden is impressed with Tebow’s performances so far but he is just one player in a team game. Good HCs dont want to come to a team that are a total mess. They want to win. If we lose a close game and fought hard is the best situation possible. We show some promise for next year and we get a top 2 pick.

31-20 Boltz. I hope its closer.

  9. baylinorcrush says:

melloo, you are absolutely correct, if we end up winning we are going to find ourselves on the bad end of the draft order because the great majority of the teams we need to win most likely won’t:

Buffalo @ Jets, no shot for Buffalo, Jets fighting for #5 seed

Cinci @ Baltimore, no shot for Cinci, Baltimore fighting for the division title

Carolina@ Atl, no shot for Carolina but this one doesn’t matter since Carolina clinched the #1 pick

Pitt @ Clev, no shot for Clev since Pitt is fighting for the division title

Jacks @ Houston, very little hope for Houston since Jacksonville is still in the hunt for the division title

Dallas@ Phil, no shot for Dallas since Phil is fighting for a bye

That leaves only two games that will go in our favor because whatever team wins they are all in competition with us for a better pick:

Minn @ Det and Arizona @ SF.

  10. strandoftds says:

Looks bleak to me. How about we lose. #2 PICK SURE LOOKS PRETTY!

  11. strandoftds says:

I can hear it now. The #2 over all pick in 2011 by the DENVER BRONCOS IS……………… Say it! Just say his name!!

  12. baylinorcrush says:

Keep in mind both Arizona and SF have weaker schedule than us so whoever wins that game would still jump over us if we win.

  13. baylinorcrush says:

Correction, that is wrong because the winner would then be 6-10.

  14. caramelloo says:

Ya know what Bay, I’m on board with your plan. A win or loss won’t impact my trip this weekend. I’m still gonna be in my Favorite city, still gonna be in my favorite stadium, still will see my favorite sports team up close, and will get alot of great pics.

So I’d rather suffer now in the short term since it will help us in the future.

  15. strandoftds says:

So that alone would put us at #4 at the weakest if we win. Man, I don`t want that.

  16. baylinorcrush says:

Same for the Minn @ Det game assuming Minn loses tonight.

  17. Broncos Born & Raised says:

No question you have my vote Tim! You’ve had it since we drafted you!

  18. strandoftds says:

I se now. OK weakest at #3 if we win. Alot of scenerio`s to see. Wierd stuff.

  19. baylinorcrush says:

If everything goes as I stated above it would throw us back to #6 I believe.

  20. strandoftds says:

    OK. Bogus.

  21. Mikeyb1203 says:

I am going to be rooting for cincy this weekend i think Carson Palmer will play better now that he doesn’t have two major headaches.

  22. strandoftds says:

Never thought in a million years I`d want the Chargers to win the Broncos. But hey, this is for our future top-flite player. Maybe for the next 8 to 10 years if he`s a major stud and reains healthy. Losing one game is not going to kill me. LOL

  23. Mikeyb1203 says:

It would make it easier if we could get a lot of sacks on Rivers, maybe taking out of the game and still losing lol.

  24. strandoftds says:

No arguements from me on that. I can`t stand him.

  25. Mikeyb1203 says:

How do you feel about trading Moreno for a draft pick? I like Lance Ball running he hits holes hard.

  26. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, I’m pretty darn near positive about this whole draft order thing since I have looked into it so deeply:

With a loss we get our #2 pick.

With a win we could fall to # 6 behind Carolina, Buffalo, Cinci, Dallas and the loser of the Arizona-SF game. Dallas would be the question mark and it could eventually come down to a coin flip since we have nearly identical strength of schedule (507 vs 509, too close to call with one week to go), but #5 would be the best case scenario.

It’s worse than political elections, haha.

  27. caramelloo says:

We need to pick up Pierre Thomas in free agency.

  28. baylinorcrush says:

I’m all for trading No-Show Moreno, never took to liking his style of running and lack of durability.

  29. Mikeyb1203 says:

But will the Saints resign him especially after last night?

  30. Mikeyb1203 says:

I would love to get a speed back but think we would be better with a brusier.

  31. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, you guys have too many RB’s down there in N-O. That would be two Thomas on the team, both on O.

  32. strandoftds says:

Man, both Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush are free agents. Love Reggie accept he`s injury prone. He was my favorite player for USC back in that day.

  33. baylinorcrush says:

LenDale White is a bruiser if he can remain healthy, it all depends if we go back to the zone or not as far as what kind of back we need, we will have to find what direction we go first before we can discusss that intelligently.

  34. Mikeyb1203 says:

Reggie is only good for the big play otherwise he fumbles a lot and is injury prone.

  35. strandoftds says:

I don`t see N.O. letting go of both RB`s. They might bring back both.

  36. caramelloo says:

You’re right Bay we have way too many down here! Payton like Reggie and Ivory. Almost like Ebony and Ivory. Lendale, Ball, and Thomas. Knowshown is injury prone like Bush. Thomas also return kicks and is good at it.

  37. strandoftds says:

There`s truth to that. Reggie is electric but is injury prone. I`m not to concerned of him turning the ball over. That can be fixed. Just saying. I`m a big USC fan, so I`m kind of bias on this. I`d love to pick up Reggie Bush. I believe he`ll be a N.O. Saint again. I do not think the Saints would want to let go of Bush. IMO

  38. Broncos Born & Raised says:

For those of you with facebook’s I’d reccomend posting the link on your page and telling your friends to pick Tim!

  39. caramelloo says:

Born & Raised what are some good Broncos groups on Facebook? I might be apart of them already but jut wanted to know in case I wasn’t.

  40. caramelloo says:

strandoftds Reggie is electric but he fits the Saints style more than Thomas.

  41. strandoftds says:

I hear ya. Thmas is awesome I think. I`d be Stoked if we got Pierre Thomas.

  42. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Melo, this is really the only Broncos group I am a part of… This is definitely where the most die-hard fans are at. Anybody else got anything?

  43. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Personally I like Moreno. Yeah he’s had injuries but who on our team hasn’t? Moreno is a tough runner who breaks tackles, falls forward and can be an explosive recieving RB to boot. Right, TRB? Haha. He’s not a 30 carries a game guy but those are few and far between. Look at teams like the Jets and KC having success with two feature backs. I think Moreno’s a keeper.

  44. strandoftds says:

Next year when we have Lendale White back, he`ll be a good complment to Moreno. White going down put a damper on our running game.

  45. Mikeyb1203 says:

I wonder where our team would be if we kept Mike Shanahan around?

  46. strandoftds says:

My guess would be 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7 these last two years. About average I think. McD helps us lay a rotten egg. We went backwards big time.

  47. Mikeyb1203 says:

I was meaning roster wise, I don’t think we would have picked up Tebow or Tomas.

  48. caramelloo says:

Mikey if we had Shanny we would be facing another 8-8 season and another new Defensive coach.
I have nothing against Moreno but Thomas reminds me of TD. Great hands, low running style, deceptive speed, breaks tackles, good acceleration, and cut back ability.

  49. strandoftds says:

If Shanny was still HC we`d still have Cutler, Marshall, Hillis and Schefler. Who knows, last year he might have gone after Dez Bryant. Knowing Shanny and his high power offense. We`ll never know.

  50. oldsouthstander says:

When Bowlen hired Reeves we had many successful years. When Reeves and Bowlen went their seperate ways, we had a lousy coach for two years. When Bowlen hired Shanny we had many successful years. When Bowlen fired Shanny, we had two bad years. When Bowlen hired ?? we’ll have …….
    Just hoping the trend continues.
