Kyle Orton’s performance at Tennessee last Sunday earned him a spot in the running for FedEx Air Player of the Week. Cast your votes here.
Orton completed 70 percent of his passes against the Titans, threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns and posted a 93.8 quarterback rating. With 1:33 remaining in the game, Orton hit Correll Buckhalter on a 6-yard touchdown pass to give his team the lead.
His output in Tennessee bumped him ahead of Philip Rivers for the most passing yards in the NFL and sustained the Broncos’ status as the No. 1 ranked passing offense in the league.
Orton’s 1,419 passing yards are the second-highest total through four games in NFL history. Only Kurt Warner produced more passing yards in that time span with the Rams in 2000.

if he’s going to use Tebow he needs to know the correct time to put him in not like he did in the first game putting him in at the wrong times ruining the offensive flow
Cool write up by Lindsay Jones about our running game and McD, saying it like it is as much as she can without burning any briges with the organization:
It took only one offensive play in Sunday’s 26-20 victory at Tennessee to realize that the Broncos running game was, once again, in big trouble.
Laurence Maroney took the first handoff of the Broncos first offensive series, and promptly was tackled for a 4-yard loss.
It was the first of 10 rushes that went for either negative yards or no gain on the day for Maroney and fellow running back Correll Buckhalter – seven for Maroney and three for Buckhalter.
In the days leading up to the Tennessee game, Broncos coach McDaniels had tried to put a silver lining on the team’s struggles in the running game by saying that at least the team was gaining positive yardage.
So, now what? That’s me asking, LOL
Now what? McD decides that his scheme can’t possibly be the problem, and instead trades away the entire offensive line (who are *obviously* at fault) for two 7th round draft picks.
LMAO!!!
Or, like according to McD everything is right, the O line, the RB’s, the scheme, the play calling, everything… the only thing wrong is the execution, so he executes the whole bunch of them, LOL.
You guys hear that we are on the verge of extending champs contract? Thank god, he is still a lock down CB
I know it’s not the power back I’m looking for, but in order to sign Lynch the Seahawks released Julius Jones today, thought I’d throw it out here.
Haha nice one baylin. Executing them. I wouldn’t put it past McD. Julius Jones is an intriguing option, but I think he’s burnt out.

gooooooo!!!! broncos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man…I really am missing Lendale White right now…lol
Has anyone else heard that the Vikes are close to trading for Randy Moss?
Some of y’all are a tough bunch. What’s my guy Orton gotta do to prove he’s worthy? Win MVP?
Look, with our 3 QBs, we know what we have with Quinn. Unfortunately. So for the sake of argument let’s talk Tebow vs. Orton.
The incumbent is producing. Tebow changes depth chart positions. Aghhhhhh nevermind, it’s an exercise in futility. Cause if McD has already made up his mind, well hasta la Orton.
Tho last I remember Tebow was fumbling the snap. Seems like a no brainer, eh McD?!?
I will say this, I’m sure as sugar enjoying this ride watching Ortin play. Let’s protect him with a little more passion. And for the love of football, get the run game going.
Who knows, if those happen, then we can really enjoy the Orton Show. On his way to MVP. Haha, crazier things have happened!!!
Get Healthy, GO BRONCOS 2K10!!
I enjoyed watching this game because of the score swing! I admit I had this down as a loss for or Broncos! Well we got a win vs. a foe we were underdogs by 7!! It was exciting and I enjoyed it. But our running game needs a lot of work! We are close Broncos Country. I think we get better as the season go’s on!! Keep on rolling Broncos!!

Well I’m mostly thinking about what McD will do with Orton, extend his contract or trade him,I don’t have a problem with Orton,I love the way he is stepping up.As long as he’s playing the way he is,he’s the starter in my book.I’m just wondering what the grand scheme of it all is,that’s all.You know McD is planning something, but we don’t know what yet.I guess we just ride out this season, hope we win our division and make the playoffs, and worry about Orton and Tebow next year.
BTW…Quinn is just taking up roster space,I say cut him now, there’s gotta be a QB walking around somewhere that has more skill than him.
Who knows what’s in McD’s mind.
I don’t think he knows either.
Point at hand, he first traded for Brady Quinn only to then trade down (and finally up) multiple times in the draft strictly to get Tebow. So Quinn was immediately no longer the answer. Ok Quinn might of very well been a back up plan if he couldn’t draft Tebow, and if so it was very stupid, because we lost Hillis in the process and Quinn is someone I said all along should not be using up a roster spot.
Anyhow, I don’t put it past him to change his long term plan with Orton over Tebow on the fly as it goes. So I’m not so sure, like TRB is, that Tebow will ultimately be the grand scheme of things that McD has planned for him. Wouldn’t be surprised at all that if Orton keeps playing well, the O line improves and we get a running game going, McD sticks with Orton, gives him a long term contract and finds another position to use Tebow. Of course that would make McD look like a fool, but that certainly hasn’t stopped him in the past, and Orton is a guy that he brought in when basically everyone then was saying what a foolish move to get rid of Cutler only to bring in Orton, so in that sense he would save face, but doing all that trading for Tebow in the draft would look awfully silly.
That being said no doubt that in a perfect world Tebow is McD’s grand scheme, but the 9 mil given to Orton for 2011 shows me that McD was not so conviced when they extended Orton’s contract with all that money that Tebow was such a shoe in for his grand scheme anymore as he was when he drafted him. Very well could be because of the belief McD had that he could change Tebow’s delivery, and by all accounts it hasn’t been the case, who knows.
Regardless, it’s just one of the many connundrum that McD seems to love to place himself smack in the middle of. We don’t know what will happen with Orton and Tebow and I’m pretty sure at this point McD doesn’t know anymore either. He’ll let it run its course and either way he goes he’ll end up with a guy he really wanted long term that he brought here himself, kind of a no loss situation for him. Maybe everyone in the media and football circles will turn out right after all, Tebow may never be NFL QB material, that’s a possibility however far fetch it may seem. I haven’t seen any confidence towards Tebow from McD at all so far this season, if Tebow was that much of a shoe in for the grand scheme of things why would McD be demoting him to third string as the world turns, it would make no sense whatsoever in my mind, just saying.
Plus TRB will tell you himself, his track record on personel with McD is kind of, well, not very good to put it nicely, LOL, so if he says Orton will be traded and Tebow will be the man, you can pretty much expect the exact opposite…
Baylin…Thanks man,I’ve been trying to get another persons view on this Orton/Tebow thing, been bashed a few times, but Finally a man of knowledge has explained his point of view, that’s all I wanted.
Pretty much the same thing I was thinking,McD dosen’t know what he’s going to do when he gets up in the mornings,he can’t tell us because he dosen’t know himself.I think he’s just making it up as he goes.LOL
BTW…I think we beat the Ravens 16-13.
BFE
Randy Moss traded to the Vikings for a 3rd round pick next year.
You’re welcome BFE, nice compliment, I’ll take it, LOL. I would tend to agree a low score is the best way to beat the Ravens, scoring mega points against them is not really realistic, however holding them to 13 will be quite a challenge, they got the run with Rice and now Flacco put together the pass at the end of the Pittsburgh game with the likes of Boldin and Houshmanzadeh, our D will be busy.
My prediction 23-20 Bronco`s win and steal a close one at the end.
17-10 Broncos Win
20-17 Broncos win
