During the 2011 season, the Broncos won the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week five times.
The first four wins were for the team’s comeback, overtime win at San Diego in Week 12, game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter against the Jets in Week 11, hard-fought victory at Kansas City in Week 10 and overtime win at Miami in Week 7.
But it was the club’s fifth and final win of the season that is now up for the Never Say Never Moment of the Year.
Trailing the Chicago Bears 10-0 late in the fourth quarter, the Broncos completed one of the most memorable come-from-behind, overtime wins of the year.
It all began when Tim Tebow found Demaryius Thomas for a 10-yard touchdown. After the Bears recovered the ensuing onside kick, the defense forced a three-and-out, and the offense had another chance.
Matt Prater kicked a 59-yard field goal to send the game to overtime, and after the defense forced a fumble, the Broncos drove down the field for the game-winning 51-yarder by Prater.
Voting is now open for the moment of the year.
The Broncos’ Week 15 comeback is up against Green Bay’s Clay Matthews’ game-sealing goal-line stop against the New Orleans Saints, Tony Romo leading a Cowboys overtime victory against the Jets, Jason Campbell honoring late owner Al Davis with a Raiders win and Joe Flacco completing a season sweep of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Though I’m sure it will still be exciting don’t think it’ll come close to the level of Mile High yesterday.
I don’t think Harrison is trying to hurt someone as much as he is trying to make a point concerning the defensive disadvantage.
Sh!t you’re right.. I hope he doesn’t go, I want Allen as our HC after Fox retires..
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d825dd673/article/rams-await-fishers-decision-will-interview-broncos-dc-allen?module=HP11_headline_stack
whats the forcast for the game
I think Allen is the 2nd best acquisition for the Broncos this season. Bowlen needs to pay Allen whatever it takes to keep him.
no worries. fisher is taking that job
Fisher would be smart to take the Rams job over Miami, with Bradford and to avoid the AFC East..
Daddy, I met a man from Jacksonville that brought all 13 of his kids to the game Sunday…
When he said 13 kids I thought for sure it had to be you!!! They were so polite and well behaved… It made me smile, they were there to support Tebow…
no one wants the miami job.
Fox said before the year started that he was going to let his coordinators coordinate, and he would oversee everything from up top, and now both our coordinators are potentially leaving…
Not from florida, but to have 13 kids, you have to have well behaved kids or the parents won’t survive.
I have association with a home education group of between 1200 – 2000 families. Hundreds of these families have become fans who used to never pay any attention to sports at all. It is funny to me. I have generally been a bit of a blacksheep for being a sports fan. Now I have lots of phone calls, emails, and FB posts from newby ignorant fans needing help understanding the game.
LOL
Nice Daddy… Share the BRONCO LOVE!!!!
BT – U home safe – collected the dog – ready to feed the cows in the morning?
I was worried you were the alternate driver trying to make it home last night after the game.
LSU has no offense. I am sooooo glad Jefferson is gone. Man he is pitiful. Bama just took LSU, slapped em, pushed em down the stairs, dragged em by the hair to their moms house, called her stupid, punched their dad, set their house on fire and toldem to like it. Embarrassing.
Lou – I want to take this moment to agree with you for once! LOL – that’s zactly what happened!
Turtle Harrison is a cheap shot artist!!!!
I’m pretty sure Fischer will take the Rams job, they are willing to give him partial control over the team, plus he wants a good young QB like Bradford!
Alright!! See we can see eye to eye on things daddybronc!! Now about tebow…. Jk!
lbf,you said UT was LSU’s enemy.
The teams in your own division is the enemy, that’s why I hate Florida!
I would rather make Dennis Allen our head coach than let him get away. Is the coach I am actually the most excited about.
It did it for the saints when they won and he is doing the exact same thing for is. Please, please do not let this guy get away. Please!!
League admits errors on Lions-Saints fumble
Posted by Mike Florio on January 8, 2012, 10:27 PM EST
Sunday’s game between the Steelers and Broncos included a bad call on an apparent fumble that allowed the Steelers to force an overtime period from which the Broncos emerged with a memorable win. Saturday night’s game between the Lions and Saints included a bad call on an apparent fumble that could have allowed the Lions to seize a 21-7 lead late in the first half.
The league admits that two mistakes were made on the play. One hurt the Lions, and one helped the Lions.
With 5:39 left in the second quarter, Saints quarterback Drew Brees was hit while attempting a pass. The ball popped forward. Believing it to be an incomplete pass, an official blew his whistle. Lions linebacker Justin Durant thereafter recovered the ball and ran toward the end zone. Then, it was announced that the ruling on the field was that Brees had fumbled — and that Detroit had recovered.
This prompted outrage from Lions fans, who believed that Detroit had been robbed of a touchdown. Those Lions fans are right, but it could have been even worse.
“Referee Tony Corrente ruled the play was a fumble and a recovery by Detroit,” the league said in a statement emailed Sunday night to PFT. “However, during the play and before Detroit recovered the fumble, another official blew the whistle believing it was an incomplete pass. Because the ruling on the field was a fumble, and the whistle came before the recovery, the play is dead because of the inadvertent whistle and the Saints should have retained possession of the ball. New Orleans would then have had the choice to put the ball in play at the spot where possession was lost or to replay the down. Inadvertent whistles are not reviewable.”
So, basically, the inadvertent whistle took away the Lions’ touchdown. But the rules dictate that the inadvertent whistle also should have given possession back to the Saints, since the ball had not been recovered at the time the inadvertent whistle blew. (Given the option of taking possession at the spot of the fumble or playing the down over, the Saints would have taken the Mulligan.)
It’s a nonsensical provision, and if the Lions had lost possession of the ball entirely there could have been a “Fire Millen”-style march upon the league offices. Given that video is now used to award possession after a whistle is blown in multipe other situations, the league needs to ensure that, if/when last night’s events happen again, the defense will at a minimum retain possession in the event of an inadvertent whistle.
Not because the officiating crew made a mistake in applying the rules, but because that’s what the rules require.
Somebody will take the Miami and Jacksonville jobs, the weather is too nice, lol.
Actually the Miami job wouldn’t be that bad,the team has turned around and played decent 2nd half of the year!
I have been drinking, so let me just say this now. I apologize for anything improper that I may say. In the odd chance I say something untoward I will probably apologize Immediately.
And if I get outside of myself, I will apologize tomorrow.
Heh, Fair warning.
Bfe I said rival in the east. We play y’all n Florida in big games alot. More so early 2000′s vs vols. I liked those battles tho, had respect for fulmer. In our div the west it’s def bama. They got the upper hand right now.
db,they got instant replay, why in the world didn’t they overturn the calls on the field, instant replay is a freaking joke, imo.
We shouldn’t have had to go to OT to beat Pitt, took 10 years off my life, lol.
Heh harrison IS a jerk. I agree.
But before I say more I shall catch up on the blogs.
Looks like it has been busy here while I went to the store, got some veggies and beef, and started a slow cooking style roast going.
Should be ready tomorrow. Hope it is delicious. Better be. I put about $50 worth of ingredients in there.
Handing out Grades to Each NFL Team from Wild Card Weekend

Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos pulled off the unthinkable, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-23 in overtime Sunday.
Offense: A-
Tim Tebow was helped by having single coverage on his receivers for most of the game, but he took full advantage, completing several long passes including the game-winning score.
He was helped by a rushing game, which (including Tebow) added over 100 yards on the ground. Running back Willis McGahee was saved from major scrutiny after his fumble helped the Steelers get back into the game.
Defense: B+
The defense (up until the end of the fourth quarter) did a very effective job pressuring Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, forcing him into an ugly interception (with a second one called off for an offside penalty).
The Steelers struggled with injuries, but the Broncos were very effective in ensuring there was no room for their opponent to build any momentum before the fourth quarter.
My prediction: F-minus-minus
I could not have been more wrong with this one. In addition to predicting a 27-9 final score, I envisioned a one-sided affair comparable to the biblical flood of Genesis. Needless to say, I was a bit off.
As many writers/analysts before me have learned the hard way, pick against Tim Tebow at your own peril.
LBF,the worse mistake in UT’s history was getting rid of Fulmer and Chavis,I’ll never forget it,Kiffen ruined us for years, and Chavis went to LSU,consider yourselves lucky to have him,he is a great DC!!!
db,I picked us to lose 27-13,but got closer than he did,my grade F without the minus, lol.
Good post db.
The inadvertent whistle call is a difficult thing. The players are all tuned into that whistle and play stops instantly when they hear it. Whatever happens after that is happening outside the play. The play is dead. Therefore if they tell the players that the whistle is a decision that can be overturned, then whistles will no longer stop the players from continuing play. It’ll cause injury and huge time wastes. Can’t be done. I personally can’t figure a solution for this.
O ya I love chavis & couldn’t believe we were lucky enough to getem. Don’t like kiffen, huh? I know he prob shouldn’t hang out in Knoxville for another ten yrs r so! Don’t blame ya there.
And I prefer the phrase “bet against the BRONCOS at ur own peril” cuz theyre well on their way back to the top. I’m out…
pick against Tim Tebow at your own peril. !!!!LOL Take that Lou!
If they have any doubt bout the play don’t be so fast to blow the whistle!
That’s all I can think of!
In high school ball we as coaches could have the Refs fined if we caught the refs with the whistle in their mouth before the player or ball was downed.
i like are chances this week the pats killed the jets last year in the regular season and then got beat on there home field by that same jets team in the playoffs. the pats have not one a playoff game since the afc championship in 2007. even in 2007 they beat the giants week 17 and they played them in the superbowl and lost to the same giant team. More then anything i dont think denver will have three turnovers again.
The refs do a good job most of the time, but they get paid good money for what they do in the NFL,so they need to step it up,especially in the playoffs,I could see laying a fine on them for missing obvious calls!
But it would be hard to fine them for really hard or close calls, but there is a fine line there tho!
its pretty crazy and exciting to think if we can muster 3 more wins we are superbowl champs. pretty awsome from a 1-4 start
Db… I am ready to feed the cows… ;o)
lol… I really was in quite a mood last night, and let my emotion get the best of me…
I hope there are no hard feelings, I didn’t mean to be insulting if I was…
“He is a beast….reminds anybody of Marshall?”
Not at all. Not even a little. He is not as polished, he is way more talented, he is stronger, unlike Marshall he is not a braggart, and he is no where near as much of a talker.
I like Dmt roughly 100 times as much as I ever liked Marshall.
Do you guys think we will have decker or dawk for this game? or both?? that would be huge to have those guys!
i love how when we won our super bowls with elway we did it with a similar group and what i mean is kinda overlooked players for them it was shannon sharpe,td,rod smith, undrafted guys or not highley touted guys blue coller type. and now our guys are not all really low draft picks but young and unproven with some undrafted guys in there harris and co.
Yeah – I don’t think fining them for a wrong call is the right thing to do. Will end up with zebra crew unmotivated -
No Deck or Dawk in NE. IMO. If we do manage to ‘back’ into the SB. I think they will both be playing. Dawk for posterity. Deck for TD’s.
“… to me no ones like Marshall … no one in the league. No one does what he does. His YAC abilities are ridiculous of pure effort. Bay Bay is faster tho.”
So, to you Calvin Johnson doesn’t exist? Andre johnson doesn’t exist. Even some random good receiver like Vincent Jackson is better than Marshall in every way.
Marshall is Baby TO in every way. he isn’t as good as T.O. and he cries more than T.O.
Not too mention, I don’t know if you watched Marshall while he was a bronco, but he had a terrible habit of consistently fumbling the ball in crucial moments.
I was actually glad when we got rid of Marshall, and I don;’t understand why anyone is talking about him.
Boy a few blogs back Bay said “why talk about Moreno? he is on IR.”
Well Marshall hasn’t been on our team for 2 years, and we never even missed him. Lloyd led the entire league in receiving last year.
if you all remember the saints lost there last three games of the regular season of 09 and went on to win the superbowl. with dennis allen on the staff im sure he has talked to the players and told them to stay hungry and anything can happen.
LOL
I am totally reposting TRB’s link, cause I love it.
And here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=zMK9FKMG3Nc
Hey. Here you go, tebow. If we win the superbowl, I will go to a christian church three times next year. Which would be roughly 3 more times than I have gone in the last 20 years.
That is right. I consider myself to be pretty hard headed, and a truly individual thinker. But, if Tebow can bring us a SB victory this year, I might have to repent.
lol
BT – I wasn’t offended at all. I thought you might be working up to a blog-brawl with Lou. It would have been funny for the rest of us, but such makes it easy for us to lose sight of our common love for the Bronco. Could dim the shine on the win!
