Vote for Demaryius Thomas

September 21st, 2010 - 9:59am by Eric Detweiler

Demaryius Thomas’ performance in his NFL debut helped earn the Broncos win their 11th straight regular season home opener.

Now Broncos fans can vote to help him earn two weekly honors.

The Broncos’ top pick in the 2010 draft finished with eight catches for 98 yards and a touchdown in the team’s 31-14 win over the Seahawks. Thomas just missed tying teammate Eddie Royal’s team record for most catches in his first NFL game.

Fans can vote here for the the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the week. Voting ends on Friday at 10 a.m. MDT. The winner will be announced on Friday evening at www.nfl.com/rookies.

Thomas continues the Broncos’ impressive association with the award. Running back Knowshon Moreno earned the honor an NFL-best four times last season.

The other nominees this week are Lions running back Jahvid Best, Steelers kick returner Antonio Brown, Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams.

Thomas is also up for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of Week 2. Voting for this honor also ends on Friday at 10 a.m. MDT. The winner will be announced Friday during NFL Network’s Around the League show and then posted on NFL.com.

The other nominees for this honor are the Miami Dolphins’ defensive performance in a win at Minnesota and the Houston Texans’ rally to win at Washington in overtime.

This is the NFL, and life goes on rather quickly, and the not for long league somehow had a very specific meaning in the life of McKinley.

So the show must go on, congrats to DT for his great performance and he should no doubt win rookie of the week award.

Jahvid Bets, RB from the Lions will present a tough challenge though, I don’t see how the voters could overlook his 232 yards from scrimmage last Sunday

  3. baylinorcrush says:

Jahvid Best. So I’m saying Best 1st, Thomas 2nd.

  4. baylinorcrush says:

But I did vote for Thomas, just clarifying.

  5. marshisboss says:

  6. BeastFromEast92 says:

Hopefully Thomas can only get better with time and make some of us Marshall fans forget about him.
    GO BAY BAY!!!AND GO BRONCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. baylinorcrush says:

Guys I’m in a bad perdiciment here in Tennessee. We all know Phil Simms, remember the guy that beat us in the Superbowl. His son Chris Simms was with us last year(he sucks).Well he has another son also, his name is Matt Simms,he is a college transfer and is a junior starting for the University of Tennessee(and he sucks too)and his # is,you guessed it #2.

    HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. 07elway says:

lol @ TRB. Thomas is making his way very quickly to help all of Bronco Country forget BMarsh. This kid is going to be a huge playmaker for us in the future. Looks like your “man-crush” on BMarsh is still on-going. ahaha ;p

I’ve already voted for Thomas a few times… gotta make sure he gets this win!

    Keep the faith Bronco Country…
    GO BRONCOS in 2010!!!!

  11. royalbroncofan1 says:

I’m with you 07, got a few extra votes in as well.

  12. broncos20 says:

First game and he is already up for rookie awards. simply amazing. pretty soon he’ll be a household name and DCs will be drawing up coverages for him. He looks like Andre Johnson playing with that much confidence..GO DT!..

  13. 1nOnlyTRB says:

lol you already know ash, but i like the kid. Doesnt play physical like marshall but then again no WR in the NFL does. Not even the manchild Andre Johnson. He is more Andre Johnson (like broncos20 says) than Marshall, and thats high praise cuz as much as i like Marshall Johnson is just amazing lol. but they are both amazing in different ways. Same way Moss is amazing in a different way (did you see that one hander over revis. I swear moss has stickums on his gloves lol). But yea, I think DT needs to play more physical and fight for more yards (YAC) other than that, kid is on his way, and i like what i see. Just forever a marshall faithful. (got in multiple votes as well) TRB out…

  14. strandoftds says:

Bay Bay played a good game for the first time out. Just a little stroll in the park, oh and a TD. Awesome things to come for DT thats for sure.

  15. TONECIA21 says:

vote for my brother….demayius thomas…he deserve it

  16. TONECIA21 says:

    Demaryius thomas all the way

  17. 07elway says:

I got you TRB. I understand your “faithfulness” to Marshall… I can’t deny his talent, his off the field issues were just overshadowing everything. But Thomas is a very reliable & solid replacement. He is going to have one bright future, especially if he stays with Denver. lol Thomas is similar to a lot of other WRs but he is talented enough he will write his own story in the NFL. I’m just glad he’s in Denver to do it.

    Keep the faith Bronco Country…
    GO BRONCOS in 2010!!!

  18. monodono says:

I’m with ya baylinorcrush, Marshal who? well I wanna be…but like broncos20 said “and DCs will be drawing up coverages for him.” when Demaryius Thomas can do this consistantly against schemes designed against him thats when I will feel comfortable about saying Marshal who?

I voted for Thomas and Thomas has huge upside but I need to see more.
and 07elway, I’m glad He’s in Denver to do it as well.
