Vote for Broncos Never Say Never Moment

December 13th, 2011 - 9:39am by Gray Caldwell

In what seems to be becoming a weekly tradition, the Broncos are up for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week Award.

Fans can vote for the Broncos to win the award over T.J. Yates’ game-winning touchdown drive for the Houston Texans and the Giants’ win on a blocked field goal.

This week, down 10-0 late in the fourth quarter, the Broncos executed one of their more miraculous comebacks of the season. Tim Tebow connected with Demaryius Thomas for a 10-yard touchdown pass, then after the defense forced a punt, Matt Prater knocked home a 59-yard field goal to force overtime. In the extra frame, the defense forced a fumble, and Prater sealed the win with a 51-yarder.

Vote for the award here.

I’m sure the broncos know the formula…………the question is are they able to execute it come game time?

  2. Atwater4HOF says:

I hope the Broncos know the formula. The rest of the NFL hasn’t been able to figure out Gronkowski so far. Most dominant offensive player in the NFL right now in my opinion.

  3. brian_schneider says:

    Matchup Tebow on Gronkowski…

  4. HardHitting27 says:

    LOL
    A two way player, QB/LB!!

  5. BeastFromEast92 says:

You guys forgetting about Hernandez,Branch, and Edelman?

We can’t afford to double team anybody, imo.

We are bigtime hurting in this game,no way we can stop their passing attack(remember the GB and Detroit games) no way we can score as many points as they do,jomho!

    Broncos 30
    Patriots 38

    Hope I’m wrong!!!

  6. Atwater4HOF says:

No I didn’t forget about them. They are mediocre receivers in my eyes.

Edelman and Branch had a combined 0 catches last week. Let them beat us instead of Gronkowski who has proven week in and week out that he is a stud

  7. Atwater4HOF says:

Actually Edelman has only 3 catches on the entire year lol

  8. bronco life says:

patriots passing is great we all no but there secondary on defense is not doing that great.”IF” we come out throwing more and decker and thomas dont drop so many balls ,it should be a close one.LETS BEAT THE PATRIOTS AND THEN MAYBE DOUBTERS WILL START TO BELIEVE!GO BRONCOS

  9. BeastFromEast92 says:

I think as long as we beat KC in the last game(even if we lose against Pats and Bills) we still finish 9-7 Tied with the Faders,we will win the tie breakers with the Faders and Bolts!!! 1st tiebreaker is division record we will be 4-2!
Faders or Bolts can’t beat that!!!

  10. Atwater4HOF says:

All of their production this year has come from essentially Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Welker.

I’m not overly worried about Hernandez because I think our pass rush is going to force them to keep a TE in on pass protection.

  11. BeastFromEast92 says:

Our pass Defense sucks too, just saying, and a mediocre WR can beat our mediocre DBs,so we lose that battle!

  12. BeastFromEast92 says:

Branch will burn Goody all day!

  13. Atwater4HOF says:

That may be true, but I’d much rather make Branch, Underwood, Ochocinco step up to beat us then Welker and Gronkowski

  14. bronco life says:

Lets not forget the redskins almost beat them they cant be that good!

  15. BeastFromEast92 says:

I agree, but even if we lock down Welker with Champ, double team Gronkowski, you still have Hernandez,Branch, and Ochocinco to torch our weak secondary!

I thought when we drafted Moore and Carter we would fix our problem covering TEs and RBs but we haven’t fixed the problem, and I’m afraid it will show Sunday!

  16. baylinorcrush says:

With a concussion no sure thing Goodman can play anyway, it might be up to Wilhite.

  17. BeastFromEast92 says:

The Redskins took advantage of their weak secondary,if Tebow can pass for 250 yards and 3 TDs we will have a chance!

  18. baylinorcrush says:

BFE is on to something whether Bronco fans want to hear it or not.

  19. baylinorcrush says:

Was talking about his 1:51 pm post.

  20. bronco life says:

We have a good team yeah there are no big name recievers but i believe that is what is helping our team so there is no drama and everyone is getting the ball not just one reciever even jeramiah!BELIEVE IN OUR TEAM AND MAYBE WE WILL PULL OUT A UPSET IN THE LAST 3 MINUTES!

  21. BeastFromEast92 says:

I don’t understand why we drafted 2 TEs in the draft and are not using them to help Tebow,a good TE is a QB’s best friend!

And yes we still have a big time problem covering TEs and RBs.

  22. BeastFromEast92 says:

I been believing ever since Tebow has started at QB,but I know we have a hard time with TEs and the Pats have the best pair in the NFL!

Not to mention how good Brady is on the quick slants, you know the kinda passes when Champ lays off 10 yards, and gets beat,I’m not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just stating my opinion!

  23. S.D.Bronco30 says:

I am a big believer, but this is going to be a tuff game. I am not afraid of Brady but he does get it done, more often then not. I know history is on our side and the pats don’t win many in Denver but we have a terrible time covering slot receivers and TE’s and they have two of the best at those positions. The WR’s cant have drops this game. The DJ Von Doom will have to terrorize Brady all day, a couple of big hits in the first series and that should help rattle Brady, he does not like getting touched.

  24. DBFanFromAzViaMD says:

A little off subject with the talk being about the NE game but I have a question for the people that have stated they were at the game Sunday

On the interception,in the video,it shows Willis on a knee on the ground with Tillman jumping over him to make the interception.I can’t find any footage showing how he ended up on the ground.Think the play might have a much different outcome had Willis been standing.Did anybody see how he ended up on the ground?

  25. BeastFromEast92 says:

The Pats have a very weak secondary I think 32nd,and barely beat the Colts and Skins the past 2 weeks, but like the Packers, you have to outscore them to beat them, can we score 35-38 points???

Hopefully our pass rush will slow them down,or cause Brady to make some mistakes(int, fumles) but we still have to cover for 60 minutes!

  26. brian_schneider says:

Willis was “Tebowing” on that play…

  27. DBFanFromAzViaMD says:

    Hahahahaha,good one brian.

  28. bronco life says:

IF von and dumervil can keep the heat on BRADY and frustrate him he WILL make mistakes!

  29. DBFanFromAzViaMD says:

Hope they can talk him into waiting til after the play or the game to “Tebow” from now on.lol

  30. strandoftds says:

    BFE, whats up bro?!

  31. rayjr26 says:

@ DBFanFromAzViaMD…. i was wondering the same thing. I seem to remember Willis indicating that he was pushed but i too never saw how he went down.

So is anyone going to the game this weekend? I won tickets and am taking my daughter to her first game.

  32. seweatherman1 says:

    DBFanFromAzViaMD,
The replay showed Willis tripping and falling. No foul, just got their feet tangled both going for the ball and Willis lost.

  33. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Wilhite hasn’t done bad thi syear … he was very stellar earlier in the year. Havent heard much from him since then … man we could really use the rapist (cox) and Squid (SydQuan).

I think our only option is to Have Chris Harris on Gronk … Gronk is a big man tho … and Chris Harris is smaller. He is a good cover guy tho … almost picked off Hanie last week.

IMO we won’t be able to cover Gronk with anyone but champ … I mean if we can’t cover Gates …. Gronk is a younger gates. Kid kills. Our LBs sure can’t cover … not woodyard not even DJ … Von is fast enough but he is needed more in rush than coverage. So only solution is alot of bump and run and great pass rush … only thing I can think about … Will be very tough … but something I like about our team is bend but don’t break … might give up big plays but hold em to 3 … it will be tough this week however since Gronk is a Redzone nightmare … gonna have to double him in the red zone … I still really want us to trade for Hearnandez … they don’t need 2 lol … and he played with Tebow in college. I remember that year … we had lost sheffler and when we got Tebow I was thinking it would be awesome if we could get hernandez … he didn’t even go that early … kid has done work tho.

    TRB

  34. HardHitting27 says:

Why does everyone not mention that Brady, no matter how good, always has had a tough time playing here in the thin air. And that’s under Shanny and He who shall not be named.
    Brady’s biggest problem here………. Champ!!!

Man it up D, Champ on Welker, Goody (if healthy) on Branch, Harris on Gronk. The others can be matched up too, depending on sets.

Brady may beat us a bit but I think our pass rush will fluster the little princess and he’ll be crying for flags. And once we’ve got him crying, the picks will come

  35. Atwater4HOF says:

    BFE-
I agree our secondary is not good right now. My whole point is to force the mediocre guys to step up, not their studs.

Ochocinco has 13 catches on the entire year. Edelman with 3. Branch had 0 last week. So if they burn us this week, so be it. I’ll take my chances on those guys rather than Gronkowski and Welker

I already discussed my feelings on Hernandez being less of a factor due to our pass rush and their need for extra protection. It is certainly going to be a challenge but that doesn’t mean their is a logical way to go about it.

  36. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Really wish this game ws on primetime … the big stage … but its pretty much shown on all channels except in states where their teams are playing the same time which is Ohio, Arizona, Penn, NY … and wierdly enough some random lil place in Florida … not sure where that is … but everyone in Florida will be Watchin NE v Denver except one city or county or something lol.

    Scroll down to late games.

    Later days, TRB out –

  37. Atwater4HOF says:

    isn’t a logical way*

  38. codybleedsorangeandblue says:

I think Hernandez will be a non factor for 2 reasons.

    1. He is the better blocker and will likely need to stay in to pass protect against DJ Von Doom and Co.
    2. Does anybody know who threw to Hernandez in college? TEBOW! You dont think Tebow wont give our D some pointer on his strengths and weaknesses?

  39. BeastFromEast92 says:

HOF-The only thing we can do is cover Gronkowski and Welker with our best cover guys and hope the rest of their WRs and TEs don’t beat us,but they have so many weapons,I’m not saying we can’t beat them, because we can,I’m just saying we will have to step it up big time in the secondary to keep from getting torched…just saying!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Whasssup strand?

  41. Atwater4HOF says:

I 100% agree. I’d be very disapointed if Gronkowski and Welker torched us and we lost. If the other guys get us, then all we can do is tip our hats to them. The pass rush will likely be the deciding factor in this one

  42. danso says:

I was there when TT came in against SD and saw the crowd rise up behind the Broncos. I was there when Detroit beat the crap out of TT and the team. I was there when TT marched 95 yards down field to beat the Jets. I donated my tickets to a charitable auction last week and missed that thriller(dammit) but I’ll be there this weekend for another miracle at Mile High.

    Prediction
    BRONCOS 31
    NE 30

    Go Broncos!

  43. Atwater4HOF says:

This is a tough one for me to pick

    Broncos 24
    Patriots 23

  44. Broncos LAX says:

    http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=7348377

I watched this and I dislike how Tebows religion is analyzed how it is. Tebow like many athletes and Americans is Christian and is very vocal about his beliefs and is bound to them. I think they make him a strong person. But when Tebow is on the football field his performance needs to get the credit and the defense and ST and the coaching. Skip Bayless sounds clueless here in this video I’ve liked him but as Tebow gets better Skip starts saying crazy stuff.

Watched the game and loved it! Tebow made some unreal plays down the stretch The defense kept the game close and stepped up big late to get another win really cant credit them enough!

  45. Broncos LAX says:

Going on a limb here but here goes…
    Broncos 37
    Patriots 24

  46. strandoftds says:

Dud, I liked your assessmnt on how you figured our playoff chances by winning our division. Good stuff bro!! Sounds like we`re there. Gotta take care of bussiness, lets win.

  47. strandoftds says:

    DUDE, I meant. LOL

  48. strandoftds says:

I`d rather win out, so we have momentum and teams will be freaked out by playing us in the playoffs. I like the sound of that. LOL

  49. Broncos LAX says:

To echo everyone the secondary definitly needs depth! Goodman would benifit from playing the slot he is quick but has lost a step in terms of speed. Don’t get cutting McCarthy and keeping Bush but that is just me…

  50. Broncos LAX says:

If we win out and finish 11-5 that will be exactly what Robert Ayers said will happen LOL
