In what seems to be becoming a weekly tradition, the Broncos are up for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week Award.
Fans can vote for the Broncos to win the award over T.J. Yates’ game-winning touchdown drive for the Houston Texans and the Giants’ win on a blocked field goal.
This week, down 10-0 late in the fourth quarter, the Broncos executed one of their more miraculous comebacks of the season. Tim Tebow connected with Demaryius Thomas for a 10-yard touchdown pass, then after the defense forced a punt, Matt Prater knocked home a 59-yard field goal to force overtime. In the extra frame, the defense forced a fumble, and Prater sealed the win with a 51-yarder.

Here we go again, LOL.
Good place to post this about our comebacks this year:
The list: At Miami, 18-15 in overtime. At Oakland, 38-24. Prime time against the New York Jets, 17-13. At San Diego, 16-13 in overtime. At Minnesota, 35-32. Home against the Chicago Bears, 13-10 in overtime.
“That one right there,” Fox said, pointing at the list, “was unbelievable.”
He pointed to the Miami game. The Broncos were down 15-0 to the then 0-5 Dolphins with less than three minutes remaining.
“I don’t think that’s ever been done before,” Denver’s coach said.
It had not, at least since the 1970 merger. The Broncos, in Tim Tebow’s first start of the season, became the first NFL team to overcome a 15-point deficit with less than three minutes remaining.
They really should rename it to: “The GMC Bronco Moment of the Week Award” – haha!
GO BRONCOS! Heal up Dawk – we need you man!
The Miami comeback is what started it all.
There should just be a season award for this……….we would have it wrapped up easily!
I’m pretty certain we’ll need a better first three quarters against the pats……….
I’m sure the game plan for Fox this week is to run the ball, then run it some more, then hey, what the heck, let’s just keep ramming it down their throats.
For one, the pats run D is nothing to write home about………and that’s the best way to keep Brady off the field………..LONG TIME EATING DRIVES. The thing is, these drives will need to convert into points…..and I don’t think just FG’s will cut it.
I think this is the most exciting and intruiging matchup this season. It’ll be interesting to hear what all the analysts will say. I’m sure they’ll all pick the pats………….
Yep. I don’t see how we can lose this one. Read somewhere that since naming TT as a starter we have gone from 150:1 odds of winning a SB to 22:1.
Patriots will be a huge step.
Next on the developement list for TT has a passer. Its ok to CHECK IT DOWN before the forth quarter.
Bay, you have been right about Matt Willis. Speed and hands. Dude can ball.
I wonder why bloggers seem to think the Pats are easy to run against, not the first time.
Pats against the run 13th in the league.
Against the pass, 32nd.
And McGahee is obviously not fully healthy.
I see nothing easy running the ball against them also I fully agree that would be the best way to beat the Pats, probably the only way, keeping the ball away from Brady, because we are most likely not going to win it in a shootout.
come on let me post this has gone on long enough
Thank you.
Now if only the coaches wise up to it for this game, that would be even better.
Yes I’m back lol Thank the Lord
Bay, you pretty much said it all. I am seriously worried that our defensive backfield is going to be picked apart pretty thoroughly. Of course, if we can make Brady an unhappy camper from the get-go, things might be different.
I agree, with Bruton, Dawkins and Goodman hurt Brady will have a field day UNLESS, and only UNLESS, we have furious QB pressure on him all game long. Hence this game in my opinion will squarely rest on Von DJ Doom’s shoulders.
Actually DJ VONDOOM sounds better, nasty guy.
I don’t think it will be easy to run on them……….but they have given up over 100+ per game………and they haven’t seen the likes of our running attack yet either. Hopefully there will be a good balance of run and throw……….but if I know foxy, he will try to ram it down their throats from the get-go.
I’m really worried about Gronk………..TE’s seem to always have our number. I wonder what the plan is to defend him this week?
Rahim Moore, LMAO!
Harrison suspended one game for decapitating McCoy, I would of giving him 2.
Hey all.
Was just about to type DJ Von Doom and ya beat me to it Bay.Hahahahaha
Pats allow 107 yds on the ground per game which is real good, top in the league allows 70 yds and second best 85.
Worse in the league allows 157, now that’s not real good, LOL.
We allow 124 and last I heard we’re pretty good against the run nowadays, just saying.
well, I’m looking forward to seeing that average get bumped up then……..I’m sure foxy will try!
what are your thoughts on covering gronk? Is he the bigger threat to us then welker?
I am really worried about what Brady and Gonk are going to do to us. I am not sure we have anyone that can cover him.
We need McGahee to allow McGahee to rest so he can heal for this weekends game. Hopefully Ball and Johnson can find some holes so McGahee can get a breahter.
ohh yee of little faith..havent you people learned anything..this is a once in a lifetime situation…never before has the nfl seen the likes of what this team is acomplishing..nobody gave us a chance 7 weeks ago, seems like nobody is giving us a chance now…omg..bradys coming to town..sooo what..hes over paid..over rated…and a jerk to boot..have a little faith people…von miller is going to put a WHOOOPIN on brady..tebows going to run for 150 yards…mcgahee is going to run for 150 yards..champ bailys going to get two ints…foxys going to get gray hair, becouse he wont be able to believe how blessed he is to have a team like this…just believe people,,,just believe
lol @ broncman…………
It’s one thing to believe and another to be realistic about it.
Who said Prater sucks earlier this year, this guy is as clutch as they come!
Colquitt and Prater have a lot to do with our 7-1 record!!!
Prater and former Indianapolis Colt Mike Vanderjagt are the only kickers in NFL history to have a 50-yard-plus kick to tie a game and then one to win it in overtime. Vanderjagt did it on Nov. 24, 2002, against Denver.
Prater has kicked 4 game winning FGs this year, one shy of Elams NFL record of 5 in 2007!
Prater owns the best field goal percentage (.750) from 50-plus yards in NFL history.
Prater is CLUTCH…..Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
BTW..Fox says Dawk should be good to go,Goody has to pass some concussion tests before he can return!
BFE
The only thing that can possibly take care of Gronkowski is the pressure on Brady like I said earlier, regardless of the upbeat fanaticism found here we don’t have much of a secondary to speak of with Dawk, Goodman and Bruton hurt, we’re talking having to rely on Carter, Moore, Harris and Wilhite, and Bailey can only cover one man so either Welker or Gronkowski could torch us, it will be up to the up front QB pressure, I may sound like a broken record:
DJ VONDOOM!
That’s all I got on D. I mean that I can truly count on, our secondary as it stands now is weak. This game is the biggest test of the regular season to date for the Tebow led Broncos for sure, said that before the Bears game, the Detroit game was just an early learning experience for the team, this one means a whole lot more as far as how we measure up to the competition for post season purposes, just real glad the Raiders lost last week since we in essence have a two game lead. We can actually afford to lose this one and still control our destiny. And that doesn’t bode well for this game, the Pats are fighting for home field throughout, we don’t have as much on the line. Just my way of looking at things and probably the team’s too, just saying.
Dawk good to go would be nice but we all know he has trouble covering and this is the week we need to do that.
They Patriots have a big problem on defense. They will have to sell out personnel wise one way or the other because they lack the talent in the defensive backfield.
Coach Hoodie is great at coaching his guys to have disipline but they really lack the personnel to make it work.
They play big and stack the box and the recievers will be open all day. They play small and drop into coverage and even a 65% healthy McGahee shreds them.
Can we keep pace with the Pats offense? Thats the million dollar question. We will have to sustain drives and keep Brady off the field or its over for us before it starts.
Prater and Colquitt are one of the best ST combination in the league, Janikowski and Lechler aren’t bad either.
I definitely like our match up against their D better than against their O, I truyly believe this one will have to come down on how well our passing game can perform and it needs big improvement over last week if we’re gonna beat the Pats like Fox said.
Agreed. Prater and Colquitt for probowl
28 + posts all saying the same thing! LOL! and I agree:
Pressure up front
Control the time of possession with the run
ball has to go in the end zone EARLY!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
Bay,
got the email! LOL! I should’ve done some more research! LOL! Now, I have another problem now…what should’ve been a great item now presents bad humor from an annyonmous gift giver when I originally received it! LOL!
you have my word…anytime I find the right “item” I’ll let the eagle fly the nest again! LOL!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
We’ll need to run the ball even as ineffective as it may be just to help keep them honest. Maybe that’s a traditional 2 back set or maybe we bust out the read option again, but we’ll need to do our best to prevent from being one dimensional.
Let’s face it, Gronkowski..wow he’s a beast, and the Patriots have so many offensive weapons. Don’t be too surprised if we give up a couple of home run plays.
Our WR need to start catching the ball. I know Tebow doesn’t have the greatest accuracy and placement of his passes but good WR adjust to poorly thrown balls, especially ones that hit them in the hands even if they are a little high, low, or behind. Tebow said that the team “makes him look better than he is” I agree with that, but at times they also make him look worse than he really is too.
Honestly even with the 32nd ranked pass defense..Tebow isn’t that great of a passer so it will still be a challenge attacking them through the air.
I saw a highlight the other day of the introduction to the tuck rule in the raiders/pats AFC championship game. As much as I hate the raiders, they got jipped bigtime by that call. It was a fumble all the way. How things mught have changed if it weren’t for that blown call.
Said it yesterday.
The D should consider a nickel package for the bulk of the game to allow a CB to cover the TE.
If the Pats lock up Doom and Von like the Bears did then DJ will have a good game again. Now that 3 of our front 7 are playing lights out with solid support from the other four, we need to pin our ears back as much as possible this game.
I say on O we THROW NE a curve and start off passing to see if we can exploit their weakness. Then lock down a run, run, run…..
We’ll need bigtime efforts from Decker and D.Thomas and hopefully the coaching staff gets Willis into the mix more………I LOVED what I saw in him when he got his limited opportunities!
btw – I watched an interview with D.Thomas last week on nfl network and that dude is so inarticulate it was painful to watch. lol
Just saw the power rankings. We’re at #8!!!! (only one I disagree with is Pittsburgh ahead of Houston)
They also have a poll- Which story line is more intriguing
The Rise of Tim Tebow or The Packers pursuit of perfection.
Slim margin in that one!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!
Broncfalls,
don’t go through any of that problem, that would make me feel bad, it was a nice on the edge of my seat moment for me anyway and I had a good laugh out of it, LOL.
And you have to say I got the right gift for the right week! LMAO!!!!
I’d much rather see Bailey stick Gronkowski all game. Let their mediocre wideouts beat us instead. It won’t happen but that’d be the way I’d handle Gronkowski.
McBath picked up by the Jags
TE Quinn to the Redskins
Good luck to both
Excuse the mediocre wideout reference. Welker is far from mediocre
The most ideal situation would be Bailey on Welker outside of the red zone. Then let Bailey handle Gronkowski inside the 20.
That’s the whole problem, the two headed monster and we only got the one guy to take care of one…
The most idea situation would be Brady on the ground..holding the ball..crying for his mommy!
Can Tebow play D too? LMAO!
I bet he is rightfully concerned over getting hurt again in this one, we have hurt many QBs, many much tougher physically than him.
That’s why I think Bailey switching back and forth in the red zone situation would be the best solution. Welker is great but is not nearly the TD machine that Gronkowski is.
Or leave Bailey one on one with Welker and double Gronkowski all game. It’s definitely going to take a creative defensive approach by Fox/Allen this week
Hopefully he and the O co-ordinator will be lashing at one another again this weekend cause Brady keeps ending up on his a$$!!!!
Yep. I say go after brady up the middle early and often. A few quick knock downs/sacks to rattle his cage.
Play deep and don’t allow anything big or explosive.
Keep the clock ticking is huge to limit Brady’s oppertunities.
