The Broncos bolstered their linebacking corps on Wednesday, signing free agent David Veikune.
To make room for Veikune, the team waived linebacker Jarvis Moss.
Veikune played in 10 games for Cleveland last season after the Browns drafted him in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-2, 257 pound linebacker registered eight tackles in three preseason games this season before being waived on Sept. 7.
In college at Hawaii, Veikune appeared in 41 games as a defensive end, earning All-Western Athletic Conference honors in his final two seasons.
With the Broncos, the 24-year-old will wear No. 90.
Moss, a 2007 first-round draft pick, played 34 games in four seasons as a Bronco with one start, totaling 42 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

I just looked him up Robert Quinn out of North Carolina DE/OLB. He`s projected to go in top 10 on a few mock drafts. wierd.
I don’t know if Denver would draft that Quinn though, seeing as how they don’t like character issues. He was one of the North Carolina players that got suspended at the beginning of the year. But it would be funny if he did go to the Broncos, then we’d know there’s some weird fascination with the name Quinn.

I reside in Hawaii, so Ive seen Veikune play. Great strength and speed to play 3-4 LB. Dj’s suspension is still up in the air right? Theres a chance we might still see the lineup we had against the chiefs last week. and will somebody please knock Rivrs on his @$!.. DJ Williams has a suspension coming? Well what about Braylon Edwards of the Jets? He is still playing and he was busted for the same thing only earlier in the season. Quietly these things will disappear only to resurface next season and then the suspensions will be served. I would be surprised if they happen at all.
Don’t know much about the new LB Veikune, but I do know Moss never lived up to his potential.
Broncos offense must start fast, put the pedal to the metal and play 4 qtrs of football in San Diego to pull this one off. Defense must get to Rivers and make him uncomfortable and force him into making mistakes. The Chargers and Rivers will be up for this game, guaranteed. No time for stupid penalties and no time to shoot yourself in the foot. Broncos must “take” another win not stumble into a win. Go Broncos!!! 7 more victories and you take the division and make the play-offs!!!! No Pressure… lol
I’m just glad we get our STUD player back next season with Dummerville! We have missed the hell out of that guy this year – he makes the whole Defense Better!!! Because it all start with pressure on the opposing QB, and Dummervilles league leading sacks have been missed this year!!! GLAD to see Robert Ayers back too!!! He’s good to have opposite Dummerville.
However, I do think LB is a need and while during the season it is hard to pick up any real talent – I like the way David Veikune played in the WAC as I’m a huge Boise State fan and did watch him play. He’s not bad at all and sometimes it takes a change of team to see what a player is really made of. I hope we strike gold with this guy, but if not I hope that is something the team will address in the off-season!!! Because as I see it we need some more Defensive STUDS!!! Our last two drafts have been “O” weighted drafts! I hope Denver takes the best Defensive player on the board this year with their first pick in the 2011 draft!
I do like how the O-lines looked last game and let’s face it – that is our strength for now!

I could accept losing if we had a plan. McD took over this team that was one defensive draft from being a perennial super bowl contender. Orton and Lloyd are just stat prostitutes not winners. More so Orton. Give me Rivers he maybe a big “kitty kat” but he’s proven time and again he’s a winner with passion for the game. He can lead his team on the winning drive with a 1:15 and no time outs. McD is a huge punk who is 5-15 in his last 20 games and runs any competition to his ego out the door. I hate his face. I almost don’t even wanna win if he’s our coach. Pat Bowlen needs to grow a pair and admit McD is horrible and he was wrong. He is to good of an owner to let this go on.
