Two Former Broncos Go Hollywood

March 7th, 2012 - 9:05am by Gray Caldwell

Twenty current and former NFL players are set to take part in the first-ever NFL Pro Hollywood Boot Camp at Universal Studios in Universal City, Calif.

Two of the players are former Broncos — safety Nick Ferguson and wide receiver Ashley Lelie.

The program, which runs from April 2-5, will cover a wide range of topics in the movie industry.

Among the notable current players taking part are Jets offensive lineman D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Rams running back Steven Jackson and Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs.

The four-day boot camp will teach the players about screen writing, directing, producing and film financing. Session leaders include Academy Award-nominated director/producer/screenwriter John Singleton and writer/actor/director Keenen Ivory Wayans.

The players will have a chance to shoot and edit a short film, helping prepare them for a possible post-playing career.

I always was a fan of N. Ferguson , he came to play every week . A Lelie was a guy that you always though was going to step his game up to the next level and it just never happened. He did make some exciting plays here in Denver, just not enough of them.

Rough on P. Manning having to move on from the Colts, hope he goes to Miami and does well down there, except against the Broncos of course.

Vontaze Burfict is falling fast … his interview and combine showing did not help what many already considered a troubled mind. I see him appearing in the 4th round in alot of mocks now … even talks of going undrafted … doesn’t matter how talented u are … sometimes people just don’t wanna deal with you ..much like The safety from Clemson DeAndre McDaniels last year … he woulda been a top safety but went undrafted … Burfict would need a stellar pro day to expect his name called. i’d sure take him in the fifth round … low risk high reward … but so was cox in the fifth and see how that turned out.

I was listening to 104.3 the Fan this morning and these two Comentators were saying that Manning could very well end up in Denver. It was an interesting show to lisen to. They believe that Elway is gonna go after Peyton Manning. Wild stuff!!

  12. bleedorange77 says:

I said in a earlier post that FO will be aggressive and bring in Peyton to help polish Tebow and possibly win a super bowl along the way. We’ll see happens and we should know in less than a week. During FA week

  13. Bronco_Turtle says:

    Hola Blogsters…

I’m tired of hearing Peyton is going to make whatever team he goes to a contender…

We’ve seen this in the NFL before… Joe Montana, came to a very Strong team and took the to an AFC Championship game in his first season there, but lost, and then was simply just too old to be his ‘old’ self…

Peytons days of manipulating D’s and throwing for 300 in his sleep are behind him… far behind him… He may get to 10 wins one more time… but please don’t think that he will be the same guy… (13 wins and a playoff flop! is not really that much to look forward to anyway is it?)

I hope we take a flier on Burfict in the 4th round… I’ve always had him pegged in the third… for many reasons, but I’m glad to see I’m not out of touch with what I’m actually seeing…

COUNTDOWN TO SUPER MARIO… 6 DAYS!!!

  14. strandoftds says:

Afternoon TRB. Seeing Burfict fall off the charts is Kind of conflicting with his play on the field. Sometimes you just have to throw all of the Combine Stats out the window and look at the Film. His Film says, I am a bruising MLB. His Problem is two fold. 1. He needs to contol his emotions and temper hi anger after the whistle blows and thats a big issue. 2. He`s got issues in the lockerroom and off the field. He`s not a nice guy from what we gather. He reminds me of Romo kind of on the field, and can be fixed if with the right team. The Broncos might not be that team. Its a catch 22 with Vontaze.

  15. strandoftds says:

Turtle, these to guys were talking as matter of fact. They have nothing else to talk about sense Mannings been released. They just want to have fans call in because its a hot topic just saying Manning and Broncos in the same sentence. If the topic sells, might as well bring it. I don`t like it much.

  16. carnagebronc says:

Lol…..i am weak at anyone who says Mannings days are “way” behind him…..Manning could start on this team and win 12 games instantly….Tebow can go if he comes….

  17. Bronco_Turtle says:

    What up Strandsky!!!

Tebow can guide Burfict… it’s what Leaders do!!! and we have a GREAT ONE!!!

    B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS

  18. Bronco_Turtle says:

Ahhh, Carnage… Nice to see you…

  19. Bronco_Turtle says:

Are you ready to say Tebow is a Quality QB yet?!?

  20. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Strand his combine shows nothing but that he is undisciplined in many areas … including the weight room and his personal health. By no means takes away from the tape where he is quite simply a force against the run and very capable in coverage. Blount was thought to be a headcase and hasn’t really had any issues with the bucs … all it takes is the right coach. I would take a flyer on blount as well and just spend the first year or 2 retraining him and correcting his discipline issues and controling his emotion. Then unleash him when he is ready … one thing he can do is tackle which means in the mid rounds at worst we got a special teamer.

I will say this tho … when teams stay away from a guy completely u gota imagine they know whats best. They don’t just go on what they hear. They have a team of proffesionals, im talking personal interviews, psych evals, physicals, etc … if all deem him no go he is no go and u gotta trust that these proffesionals know what they are talking about.

  21. sndvl says:

    Here’s what I consider a catch-22….

Peyton Manning in Blue & Orange. Years of watching him own us…but to come in and be a mentor/player/coach to Tebow…but it would create another Quarterback Quagmire…but then we have the chance to sign that veteran wideout to mentor OpThomas and Deck…and how enticing would Denver be to other free agents…but how much would the Peyton/Wayne Combo cost…

The free agent market just got more interesting….

Maybe Nick can document how it unfolds in his short film!!!

    Broncos Country Strong 2012!

  22. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Oh carnage … how ive missed you … not really but yet kinda … gotta say … a lil conflicted lol. I agree with the manning statement … he may not be the same manning but he is still amazing. Like i said, colts team is complete trash but he single handedly took them repeatedly and team imploded when he left … and unlike Brady u cannot ask if its the coach .. i feel like manning is his own coach … make all the tough calls and almost does what he wants and it works out because he knows his stuff. I believe any team he joins will be written into the playoff picture if not already in it.

    TRB

  23. Bronco_Turtle says:

:o I will cheer for Peyton… same as I did Montana… The guys are simply GREAT football players!!!

I hope I’m wrong, and we get to watch him at his peak level again… but as a gambling man, I told you where I put my Money!!!

  24. killerkod says:

looks as though the chargers are in the hunt for mario……….and want to spend the money to get him……intersting for all those bloggers here that want him in Denver so bad………..he could be terrorizing TT next season twice a year lol

  25. Bronco_Turtle says:

I’ve been following the other Team sites, and the Charger fans literally sound like they will go to AJ Smith’s house and string him up if they don’t get Mario Williams there….

  26. Bronco_Turtle says:

    Peyton Manning’s line for Landings

5 to 1 says he ends up in Seattle… 7 to 1 he goes to Miami… 9 to 1 he ends up in KC…

Seattle can give him the most… and Pete Carroll is a guy that seems to get what he wants…

  27. brian_schneider says:

With the way our offensive line blocked last year, even if Manning would want to come to Denver, he’d probably get injured again by a missed block.

  28. Bronco_Turtle says:

Washington, NYJ and SF should all be on the list at 25 to 1 shots… for possible landing places for PM

  29. louisianabroncofan says:

Ok i gotta step in & say mannings 300 yd days are not at all way behind him. He will dominate for 2 more years then be elite/really good for 2 after that. He will still be good at 40. With him you get at least 4 great seasons at the qb position, maybe 6. I’d take that ina second. Especially since tebow is light yrs from great and miles from good. He can sit behind peyton & with his work ethic maybe get closer to being an above average qb in those yrs. What a great scenario. With del rio bringing his d plus manning on o, we would be some kinda good. I say pull that dang trigger FAST

  30. strandoftds says:

Kod, I gather that you donat like TT very much. LOL

  31. strandoftds says:

    **Don`t**

  32. Bronco_Turtle says:

Kod and Carnage are still old school anti-tebow, same as LBF… 4 to 6 seasons for Manning, at high levels!?!?!?

Peyton might not even see the field this year… ?!?!? 4-6 years?!?! you realize that puts him in his 40′s?!?!

  33. brian_schneider says:

That’s assuming Manning’s injury doesn’t affect his play which it may not affect his play but what if he re-injures his neck.

I think one thing that he may not have is total control of the offense like he had in Indy. He was the commander in chief and dictated everything at the line, I don’t know if teams would be willing to let him do that right away.

I know Elway wants to look at the long term solution and Manning isn’t the long term solution. I say pull the trigger fast on shooting down the idea of Manning coming to Denver. Not because of Tebow or whoever but then we’d be in the same exact situation as when Elway retired.

  34. Bronco_Turtle says:

    That is simply obsurd….

  35. strandoftds says:

IF Manning stays healthy, he has about a 4 year window to help a team. He needs a great O-line though or that gets cut in half. Is a team willing take to a chance?

  36. brian_schneider says:

We are far from having a great o-line.

  37. Bronco_Turtle says:

at 36 and coming off a Spinal injury it would be silly to even guarantee he can still PLAY at all…. but, like always please bestow your wisdom upon the rest of us casual fans that don’t really follow the game

  38. strandoftds says:

Give credit to Manning in that he has one thing still in his favor in that he`ll get rid of the ball inside of two seconds and thats almost impossible to defend if he knows where he`s going before the ball is snapped.

  39. killerkod says:

lol strand……….I like TT and the glimpes he showed last season. He was great some of the time and just aweful most of the other. I’m just not sold on him as our franchise guy yet. I’m glad he got that experience of the 11 games he started and I’m interested to see how that translates into this season, complimented with a full off-season.

But if he comes out of the gate and stinks up the joint in the first 5 games, as Orton did, I will prob be calling for change.

There’s still a part of me that thinks that he will be traded to the Jags come draft time………..

  40. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Peyton isn’t coming hear … not that i wouldn’t welcome him. Im a Tebow fan but im also the guy who thinks peyton is Goat. Do you know the sh*t storm that bring manning would invoke? Like it or not Denver is stuck in Tebowmania … made even worse by him taking us on a playoff run. We have had too much Qb Drama since Shanahan was fired, the cutler cassel thing, the orton brady thing, the orton brady AND Tebow thing. We are about to be the poster boys of QB Quagmires. Ill personally pass. I know they said they would like to bring in a vet during FA but if its Manning Tebow is taking a back seat for like 2 more years and once again guys will be adjusting to a new QB and people will be in an uproar that TT isn’t getting a fair shake again with a real offseason. They would probably shut up after all the winning we do tho lol. Ill support either decision but there are consecquences either way.

    TRB

  41. strandoftds says:

If its up to me I`d give TT the reigns and let the chips fall. He`ll learn through experience, like most young QB`s. Rome wasn`t built in a day you know.

  42. killerkod says:

turtle…….I am far from anti-tebow. I just call it like I see it and that’s the way I see it. And my earlier comment was just referencing the fact that those who want mario here so badly might have to face him as a division rival………..not that I wanted to see mario put a beat-down on TT.

  43. Bronco_Turtle says:

Is it getting closer to Springtime?

  44. Bronco_Turtle says:

There seem to be some people coming out of Hybernation…

  45. strandoftds says:

Kod, just having some fun with ya. LOL! Enjoy your posts!

  46. killerkod says:

okay strand………you won me over. I’ll give him at least 8 games to form my official opinion. LOL

  47. Bronco_Turtle says:

Me too Kod! I know you spent the season sitting on Bays lap on the fence, hoping Tebow would not be here this season…

    It’s all in good fun…

VON TEBOW FOOTBALL BABY!!! BRING US SOME BEEF

  48. strandoftds says:
