Training Camp Has Arrived

July 27th, 2009 - 9:54am by Zach Eisendrath

The wait is over. Training camp is officially here. Rookies, quarterbacks and injured players reported to Dove Valley on Monday and veterans are scheduled to join in on the festivities on Friday.

Over the next month, there will be plenty of activity taking place here at team headquarters. Here at DenverBroncos.com, we’re in training camp mode, too.

Our web team is prepared to give you up-to-the-minute information on each practice throughout camp. Each day, we’ll post blogs from each practice session with notes and pictures to keep fans who can’t attend involved. We will also post a top story on the headlines from each day of training camp.

Our multimedia content will be just as thorough. You can expect to find video and audio of post-practice press conferences along with Broncos TV reports from each day of training camp. The weekly segment “A Few Minutes With…” will start up soon, which allows fans to ask some of their favorite players questions. The players will answer the best questions on camera at the end of each week.

Additionally, veteran outside linebacker/defensive end Elvis Dumervil will continue his blog, and newly-signed Alphonso Smith will take the torch from Ryan Torain and post a rookie blog all season.

If you plan on attending any practice sessions, you can check the training camp page we have set up on DenverBroncos.com for the schedule. In addition, at the end of each day, we will post the next day’s practice schedule at the top right of the home page.

Once you get to practice, there will also be computers set up for any fans who haven’t voted for the Broncos’ 50th Anniversary Team yet to do so.

We hope you enjoy our coverage and hope you can make it out to Dove Valley to visit camp for yourself in the weeks ahead.

Glad its finally here. Life without broncos football or information is torture. Heard “The Beast” showed up. Glad to see thats one less problem. Hopefully his hip is doing better. He claims it was misdiagnosed by denver last season and he kept playing and aggrevating it. Hope all is well and he can soon close that 20 yard gap between him and Larry Fitz lol. Im surprised he is not asking to be traded to pass happy AZ with fitz while we get boldin. I would rather have Brandon tho. His got a bright future ahead of him as long and he doesnt screw it up and become just another statistic.

I need to see Moreno and Ayers signed. and I am looking foward to seeing them in progress this season starting with training camp. McD prides himself on mentoring QBs hopefully he can mentor Brandstater.

    Yahoo Yahoo Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!

  9. eeerockski says:

From what I’ve gathered, Ayers and Moreno will be signed once some more of the other 1st rounders have signed and their agents have a better feel for how much $ their clients are worth. It seems lame, especially considering the teams have known they’d have to sign them since April, and they generally get a little more than what last years rookies got in their respective slots. I just wish the NFL would do slotted picks/$. There could be a clause about qb’s or rb’s, etc. getting more than lineman (for example) in their slots, but it just makes more sense to have these guys signed sooner rather than later. And lastly, anyone know if guys like Moreno/Ayers are barred from joining training camp until a contract is signed, or could they, out of the kindness of their hearts show up contractless for the better of the team knowing they’ll soon get one done?

  14. broncosfreak30 says:

    I feel you 07elway,

I’m up and dancing and singing too! I just cant wait for the first preseason game. I am fed up with all of the terrible critisisms against the Broncos and Kyle Orton. For anyone on here that has doubts with kyle orton, which i hope theyre arent, go to youtube and type his name in and watch some of his clips when he was in chicago. He threw sooo nice but it was pretty bad bc he only had around 2 seconds to get rid of the ball with how bad chicago’s o-line was!!!
With absolute faith and love for our team!!!
    GOOO BRONCOS!

  15. 07elway says:

Its just funny the way Orton doubters contradict themselves on here. First they say, Cutler will have no success in Chicago cause he doesn’t have the weapons he had here… well don’t ya think Orton will get the success Jay had here having taken over his spot?? I mean DUH!! Orton will improve cause he’s on a new team with new teammates and a new offense… this could be his big break. Its not gonna kill ya to give him a fair and decent shot at having a successful season. I mean seriously just look at who Orton will be working with… Clady, Royal, Stokley, hopefully Marshall… I don’t need to say anymore.

    With faith…
    GO BRONCOS in ’09!!!!

  16. RSH says:

I agree with you, 07elway. Kyle Orton, if he stays healthy, will improve, but may in fact, have his best season thus far as a pro. He will be working with a head coach that runs a very quarterback friendly system tailored to Orton’s strengths, Orton will be surrounded by solid receivers and running backs and a stellar offensive line. Further, Orton undoubtedly will want to show his worth since he’s in the final year of his contract as well as show a thing or two to the many doubters and naysayers who have bashed the decision to bring him in as quarterback.

  17. broncosfreak30 says:

    AMEN…

I completely agree, cutler has no offensive weapons in chicago, i mean devin hester??? Trust me on this, I can catch better than him, the only thing that he has going for him is speed but he has to get the ball before he can use his speed. We have all of our wide recievers plus our o-line that is going to keep orton on his feet!! I really wont be surprised at all if we win the afc west and go to the playoffs. Thing is you have to look at as well, Chargers have always ran down our throats with runningbacks. I mean look at the running yards they got for both games that we played against them last season. Knowshon Moreno and Peyton Hillis will definitely take care and turn this around for us!!

I will always have love for this team!!
    GOOO BRONCOS!!

  19. CARAMELLOO says:

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Da Boys are back in townnnnnn! Da Boys are back in townnnnnnnnnn! Ok now lets get down to business. Yeah I’m glad Marsha Marsha Marshall showed up but that doesn’t mean a thing bc he doesn’t want to be fined.

Lets wait and see what his attitude is like as camp goes on. Now who can tell me what’s the best site to order Broncos gear? People have giving me Broncos gear as gifts so I never had to order my own before now. It’s hard to find Broncos gear here in New Orleans with it being a Saints town! So any help will be greatly appreciated!

  20. KM#27fan says:

I think Knowshon Moreno is going to have a better season than any other back in the AFC West, LT or not

  21. broncosfreak30 says:

    Well CARAMELLOO,

I live in North Carolina soo i know what you mean. I always go on ebay first and check because they always have the best price and you can still get brand new stuff. I got my brand new marshall jersey on there for only $130 and it sells for on nflshop for 240. Definitely go to ebay first and if not there, if you can get any dicks sporting goods coupons, go on dicks sporting goods website and use the coupons and do it that way. Hope that helps

  22. Marshallman-15 says:

    CARMELLOOOO,

you can get authentic jerseys for $55 (plus pro bowl jerseys) at jerseysrus.net

    Dawkins, Moreno, Champ, Royal, ect.

  24. Marshallman-15 says:

would the broncos give vick a chance at quarter back? i mean, maybe not play him at quarterback, but he’s fast enough, he could play reciever/halfback

  25. mikew007 says:

eeerockski says: And lastly, anyone know if guys like Moreno/Ayers are barred from joining training camp until a contract is signed, or could they, out of the kindness of their hearts show up contractless for the better of the team knowing they’ll soon get one done?

Short answer is no. They are not banned per se. However there is no way an unsigned rookie should go into camp where he may blow out his knee on the first day of camp. With no contract he would lose millions of dollars.

I want them there too but…no, they need to be signed first. Mini camps are covered differently under the CBA so all rookies can “safely attend” those.

  26. mikew007 says:

Marshallman….Bowlen is not likely to sign Vick. I would say no way. Just My opinion but, also, our receiver corp is stacked. We don’t need him anyway.

  27. Torain ATV fan says:

actually mike w, they are banned they can not even go to the premises to work out

  28. CARAMELLOO says:

broncosfreak30 and Marshallman-15 thanks alot for the info. I really appreciate it!

Our sexy friend Michelle Beisner is doing an excellent job reporting from NFL Network and it goes without saying that she’s one of that said network’s only people with a brain as she doesn’t bash the Broncos. Jamie Dukes is a tool, what more needs to be said?

  33. eeerockski says:

Thanks Mikew007. I was curious how that wroked, and I figured maybe training camp fell under the same rules, but that the rooks used their unsigned status as leverage in negotiations once camp arrived.

  34. Denver Bronco Annie says:

I am so excited for Bronco football to start. Wish we could be there for training camp too. We will be there in October for the Broncos Patiots game. Can hardly wait. GO BRONCOS!!
