Time to Mentally Recharge

October 17th, 2012 - 3:30pm by Eric Decker

The bye week’s here — time for a little R and R. Get away. Refresh. Relax. Recover. Just kind of mentally recharge the batteries.

It’s definitely better heading into the bye with a good taste after Sunday’s win. Especially with where we’re at in the season. It was a divisional game. To win the game like we did, I think it was big for momentum.

I know a lot of you will want to hear about me falling — I’ll just tell you this. After I tripped and embarrassed myself in the first half, I figured there was no way they were going to stop me from getting into the end zone in the second half. I had that determination, but Stokley and DT had some incredible blocks on that play.

When we start coming back at the end of the weekend, we’ll start focusing on the Saints. But when you get some free time, you’ve got to take advantage of it and just relax.

Catch you guys next week.

Good on ya giving credit to your blockers Eric. You’re a team guy and a hard worker. I’m sure we have all tripped on a blade of grass or two. It just sucks for you cause millions of people watch so it’s harder to pretend no one was watching.
    Keep up the good work.

Enjoy you’re time off Eric. No worries on the fall, it happens. You kept your head up and you responded, and that what matters.

RH – great stat about Rahim Moore! I’ve been very impressed with his progress this season, and have noticed a new swagger in his step, good to see the proof in writing. It’s too bad that Quinton Carter was placed on IR, but I look forward to seeing him next year, as I think they will make a great tandem for years to come.

Speaking of safety play, I heard Gruden mention something about our two leading tacklers being safeties on MNF, slighting our front 7, but the box score tells a different story.. Was he talking about season totals, or did he pull that one out of thin air? Can anyone of our stat checkers confirm this one way or the other?

    Eric,

That’s just how the grass was growing that day. Unfortunately, you ran across it that night. Lol! Seriously, when you guys start putting in 60 minutes of football like that second half, it could be a jungle out there and you will still come through. Ok, really. Get rested up and come back ready to finish this thing!

    Go Broncos!!!!!!!!!!

  7. horsepower1 says:

I should have said the first half of that day. lol

    Anyway, Go Broncos!!!!!!!!!!

Check that out.. the kid that I’ve going on and on about to bring to Denver since his freshman year is in the talks for the Heisman Trophy:

    ND MLB: Manti Te’o

this is the kind of leader we need in the middle.. :D

  9. oldsouthstander says:

OT: He was referring to season total. Not exactly a ringing commendation of our front 7 to have 2 secondary players leading tacklers.

  10. Broncos20 says:

nice link RH… I see both our Tackles on that list.. AWESOME!!!

    Dear Eric,

It sure is lovely Fall weather we are having. Maybe I should take a Trip down the mall and buy a new pair of shoes to Slip into, or go to Vegas and Slide into a casino and Lay Down some cash on the Flop.

The last time I was in Vegas I Flipped Head over Heels for a Staggeringly beautiful bar maid but had a Miss Step and made a Stumbling fool out of myself in front of her when I Tumbled the dice and Lost My Balance on the dance floor and took a Digger while performing my Stop Drop and Roll dance moves.

I feel like we have so much in common…..LMBO!!!

    Jstkddn…..

Great game Deck. Loved how after your mishap, you weren’t going to be denied that 2nd time. That’s the attitude we love seeing. Enjoy the bye week.

    Lmao OC. Classic!

Btw, did you know Manning is 154/227 with 14 TDs.
That calculates as a 67.8% completion percentage! To me that is just off the charts crazy good. Wow…

    Broncos Country Strong 2012!!!

OT our leading tacklers for the season are Woodyard with 48 then Moore and Adams at 41 total tackles. Then 33 solo for Woodyard 32 for Moore 28 for Adams.

  15. tlcat06 says:

Eric, who could feel worse than you when that happened? I will NEVER forget Peyton’s reaction. CLASSIC! WHO CARES! Water under the bridge. Although I’m sure it will be on blooper reals forever and when you and Jessica have kids they will watch you on NFL Network blooper shows and shake their head. This of course after winning two Super Bowls with the greatest of all time… *wink* LOVE YOU!!! Keep playing with heart!!!

  16. broncsbomber66 says:

Still didnt crack leaderboard? Thought I got 5 points.

  17. Bestinthewest24 says:

Hey Eric, Who’s the biggest clown on the team?

  18. ic2705 says:

You all have to admit that is one that will definitely be on the blooper reels. Whenever I watch those bloopers I always think: “That woudl been something to see live.” Well, here’s one I did.

  19. MistyDay says:

Oh yeah…the “trip & fall”. We’ve all done it. Of course, not in front of so many people. But like you said, it made you determined to get into the end zone during the 2nd half. Really though, what an exciting game! One Denver fan next to me actually stood on top of his bar stool and cheered. As always, it’s a blast rooting for y’all and I’ll miss it this weekend but I’ll enjoy knowing you guys have some much needed R&R. Side note: my new Decker jersey was just delivered! Bye week or not, I’m totally wearing Sunday. :-)

  20. wolfedom says:

Eric, your stand up play is always great so when you fall down once its no big deal. I knew you would move forward and see the end zone on another play. GO BRONCOS
