Tim Tebow Foundation ‘Dollar Day’

November 29th, 2011 - 9:59am by Gray Caldwell

The Tim Tebow Foundation is launching a fundraiser for the recently announced Tebow CURE Hospital in the Philippines. The total expense of building the hospital is $3.1 million, and with only $700,000 left towards that goal, the foundation is asking fans of Tim Tebow and the Broncos to consider joining them in this effort.

The fundraiser, “Dollar Day,” lasts all day today, and every Bronocos and Tebow fan is encouraged to donate $1 each to help the foundation realize its goal.

Donations can be made online at TimTebowFoundation.org and all donors will get receipts for their donations. All proceeds will go directly toward the Tebow CURE Hospital, a combined effort between the Tim Tebow Foundation and CURE International.

“I am so thankful for my fans and the support they’ve always shown me,” said Tebow. “I am excited for this opportunity for my fans to join me in a project that is so close to my heart.”

The Tebow CURE Hospital will be a 30-bed surgical facility focusing primarily on orthopedics with over half of the surgeries expected to be charitable. The groundbreaking will be held in January 2012, and the hospital is expected to open in mid-2013. The hospital, which is CURE’s first in the Philippines and 12th worldwide, will be on the island of Mindanao, a particularly poor area of the Philippines. The hospital will also house a Timmy’s Playroom, which will provide faith, hope and love to children before and after their surgeries. It will be the Tim Tebow Foundation’s first international playroom.

    Gray,
Thanks for bringing this information to us. I for one am really glad that we have someone doing this type of thing to help people less fortunate than most of us.

  3. baylinorcrush says:

That has been going on for a long time, they have been ahead of the list if indeed a team is moved to LA.

  4. shaztah says:

I am proud of you Tebow. You share your money with those less fortunate instead of buying exspensive homes, cars and jewelry. I know you do lots of work here in the US too. Helping the kids with the make a wish foundation is also a great thing.

  5. baylinorcrush says:

The Los Angeles Jaguars, kind of sounds cool.

  6. shaztah says:

Bay, apparently the new owner (to be) says he is keeping the team in Jacksonville.

  7. baylinorcrush says:

Way to go Tebow, helping the less fortunate.

  8. baylinorcrush says:

Bad move, from living in North Florida for years I know that Jacksonville does not support their team like they should, unless of course they were to acquire Tebow, LOL.

  9. BeastFromEast92 says:

Money well spent Tim Tebow, those children will apreciate what you’ve done, some NFL players have a big heart and choose to donate money to a worthy cause, but this is something to help poor children, and I for one give cudos to you,the nay sayers can bash you all they want, but keep on being yourself, and hold your head up my friend!!!!!!!

  10. strandoftds says:

So Del Rio is canned huh? Next will be Norv Turner.

  11. BeastFromEast92 says:

strand,I hope Turner stays,we wouldn’t want SD to get over the hump, lol.

  12. strandoftds says:

Can you say Jeff Fischer as S.D. next HC.

  13. BeastFromEast92 says:

I hope not,I like Fischer,I would hate to see him go to the enemy, but he is a great HC!

  14. strandoftds says:

    I always liked Fischer.

  15. strandoftds says:

Larry Coyer the DC of the Inianapolis Colts has just been fired.

  16. daddybronc says:

Tim Tebow is a one-of-a-kind football player!!! God bless your efforts for the less fortunate little Timmy!!!

  17. strandoftds says:

Dooms day for some NFL coaches.

  18. strandoftds says:

Tim Tebow is a Missions minded man and missions minded people`s treasures that are stored up in heaven are without measure. Tims treasures in heaven WILL BE ASTRONOMICAL!!

  19. seweatherman1 says:

I am not understanding the DC of the Colts. That team fell apart because they have spent the past how long depending on their qb, and now that he is out they see what they truly had. That isn’t the fault of the DC. To me that falls on management not having another qb there capable of backing up Manning.

Coming from a developing country myself. I can appreciate this. Nothing but respect and ill give my dollar and maybe more if I can spare it. No matter how hard u think u have it, there’s usually someone that has it way worse. That’s why I try to give whenever I can and if all the fans can donate that would be awesome.

I think jax should move to LA too. They already have 3 teams in FL anyway and apparently the market aint big enough. If they go to LA their will be 4 teams in cali but there seems to be a market. I bet they change the name tho. Something like LA stars or something to play off los angeles celeb status. … LA paparatsies maybe? Lol

  25. millerqbkiller says:

tebow is awsome at life he makes me feel like i could do more. i guess thats the quality he brings to his teamates because they heve been steppin up for that guy big time.

  26. GatorZone says:

I love Tim, I really do and I contribute also. But I wish he would build something here. Our tax dollars go over seas, our donations and celebrities even go over there to adopt children. We need help here in the USA.

  27. broncman777 says:

he does a lot the charity in usa…tons..he just loves to spread the love.

  28. broncman777 says:

alot of those countrys children dont stand a chance without the help of outside influences..

  29. broncman777 says:

thanks to people like tebow, those kids will stand a chance to see 16..but still people continue to question his character…..unbelievable. the world could stand to see a whole lot more tebows….

  30. seweatherman1 says:

GatorZone, he is HUGE in Make-A-Wish Foundation.

  31. noWayno says:

What is with the anti-Tebow rhetoric on the radio there Denver, from Mr. Has-been? He is getting the job done, and look, a very commendable charity that demands respect to the one Mr. Tim Tebow, of the Denver Broncos. I hope everyone n mile hi is standing up and supporting this kid, he is a good guy. From Silverton/Ouray/Telluride

  32. shaztah says:

Here in the US we have food stamps, welfare and AFDC for low income families which are paid for by us tax payers and there are many who abuse the system. We also have many hospitals that do the same thing that this one will do (shands for one). These other country’s do not have that kind of help for their children. I think it is great that he wants to help.
