The honors continue to rack up for several Broncos playmakers, as Pro Football Weekly, along with the Professional Football Writers of America, announced their annual All-NFL team today.
Two Broncos made the 2009 All-NFL team — Ryan Clady and Elvis Dumervil — and Knowshon Moreno was voted to the offense of the 2009 All-Rookie team.
Clady and Dumervil were both voted Pro Bowl starters for the first time in their careers, and were recently named Associated Press All-Pros, as well. Moreno finished tied for third in AP Rookie of the Year voting, and Dumervil finished tied for third in AP Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Good job guys!
Still wondering when Dumervil will be re-signed…
Sweet! Good going guys!
Off to another subject it looks like it may be another interesting offseason. Nolan is out:

I wonder what Mr.B and Coach McD are going to do. Hmmmmmm
This one comes as a surprise to me. Especially after we moved up to 7th overall in the league from the cellar in previous years. Apparently the decision was mutual. Best wishes to Coach Nolan.

more deserving awards,,especially for Clady.
WOW! Nolan gone? This was the last thing I expected this offseason. Hope mcdaniels, behind the curtains, pushed him out. Thanks for that season Nolan. Better making changes now, before player acquisitions. Any suggestions as to who will take over D-Coor position?
Just hope the the new DC is also a 3-4 as the going back to 4-3 would really cause massive personnel changes necessary. Any rumors/wishes for new DC?
Their going to bring New englands old defensive cooridnator because were the New Engalnd of the West
GO NEW ENGLAND BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Maybe the Pats old DC, Dean Pees?
I think it is funny that the Denver Broncos site is always the last one to report this sort of news. Everyone else already knows it, but in a day or two DenverBroncos.com will put up a story. You would think they would have the most up-to-date news.
So is our franchise falling a part or what???? Everyone wants out. The defense was the only bright spot about this year. Nolan did a great job with mediocre talent and yet he wanted out. What is going on JMAC?
Haha I bag them and they put up an article, nice.
If Dean Pees does indeed become the DC despite his health it probably would help our chances of getting guys like Vince Wilfork and Richard Seymour.
Maybe that would be nice.
i am excited to see how our second year players will perform. I’m still a big fan of Alphonso and I still think he’ll be one heck of a player. He didnt set college interceptions records for nothing. who’d have thought Revis would be a household name after sitting his first year and a subpar second year and becoming the “shutdown” corner in his I think 4th year?
I’d like to see Brandstater some more. I’ve seen his college highlights and he had good mechanics to be a good maybe great qb in this league. We’ve seen how smart Mcbath is. Bruton a speedy beast on STs and Ayers progressing throughout the stretch.
Whoever the new DC is, I hope he is smart and make things work. Although i’m not sure how the veteran players feel about having to change coordinators year in and and year out.
I’m hoping for a lot. I’m just excited.lol
I am really shocked by Nolans Quit/Fire, mutual departure, whatever!!!!
Nolan was the best D coordinator we’ve had in 5 years. I thought McDaniels was BUILDING a team???? This is a huge problem! Now we have to start all over again with the frickin defense…..
I am thoroughly discusted in this news. Now we have people, “key people” dropping out of McDaniels plan. This is not good!
There is an air of repungance between the head coach and several people on the team. Possibly we are getting a glympse of the locker room rifts that began around the 6th week of the season???
THIS IS NOT GOOD!!! HOW MANY TIMES DO OUR PLAYERS HAVE TO LEARN OR GET TO KNOW A NEW DC…. THIS IS LIKE STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN… IT TAKES A WHILE TO LEARN A NEW SYSTEM… THIS IS MD LAST YEAR ON HIS CONTRACT SO HE BETTER GET IT RIGHT OR WE WILL BE HAVING A NEW HEAD COACH ALSO
NOW EVERYBODY NEEDS TO PANICK…
Congratulations on the awards guys. I’ll reserve comment on the departure of Nolan for now as I’m too upset about and need my emotions to settle first! WTF, WTF, WTF!!!!!!!!!
YO PEES IS 60 YEARS OLD AND HAVE HEALTH PROBLEMS, COME ON…….
Kudos to Doom, Clady, Moreno!! Thanks for playing your guts out week in and week out. You deserve the recognition for sure!
I though the Denver Bronco site guys forgot to post the story of Nolan below his picture or my page would not load right. Tried 3 times and still all I got was:
The Denver Broncos and Defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan have mutually agreed to part ways.
“I have great respect for Mike and wish him success in the future,” Head Coach Josh McDaniels said
Watch out guys I think McD is an editor of the whole site-Ha. I though it said click here to read more. More of what? More of click here for the smell from a shattered locker room. I am a die hard fan but enough is an enough!! It smells like Mcd’s used hoddie! It’s like turn on the lights and watch the Roaches err I mean coach’s run. I have to admit I was starting to drink the cool aid but this does not look good.
Just saying. I hope we can somehow weather this storm and still be the respected Broncos we all know and love!
GO BRONCOS!
FTR
Wow. Congrats to Clady, Moreno, and Dumerville. You guys deserve all the accolades you get. On another note WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING???????
Our Defense was the best part of the team this season. This is very, very dissapointing. It did seem that McD liked to blame all of the other coach’s for losses the broncos had. He said on several occosions said “we didn’t block very well”, or “we gave up too many big plays.” Instead of taking the blame himself like a good head coach he made our other coaches “skape goats” (sp. ?). The overall weakest part of out team last year was the offense which is supposed to be McD’s specialty.
I am an optimistic person and I feel that the broncos our only a few players away from contenting for a super bowl but this is ridiculous. McD is showing me that he is lacking good people skills. A skill that is paramount to being a good coach. He has no loyalty from his coach’s, including his best coach, Nolan. This really speaks volume about McD’s relationships with both his coach’s and players. I love my broncos but this is downright scary.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!
Oops meant to say contending for a super bowl.
There is also the possibility that Nolan wanted out, maybe to be DC at the Dolphins?
I no longer can think of anything else:
McDaniels, WHAT THE H3LL?!?!
Nolan is leaving because after teams figured out that the blitz scheme he used left big gaps in the middle of the field in order to stop the run so good play actons would score TD’s against us we are ready for the 3-4 now thanks to Nolan being the mastermind teacher of it but his scheme is useless overall so fire him andbring in a Dick LeBeau protoge. Dennison would not be needed if we are switching over to a power run scheme which is what you have to be able to do these days thanks to the big guys now being better athletes. Think about it Haloti Ngata is one of the best DE in the game at 345 lbs!!!!! I remember when that was big for a DT to be 340 lbs in any scheme and this guy can play like a DE at that weight? Think about the fact that if a good 3-4 or 4-3 has one or two of these guys we need to be able to move them out and you just are not going to do that anymore with smaller guys on the line they may move fast but so do the big guys now which means what was once an advantage is now not a darn thing unless you can put together a whole line of Clady’s and Harris’.
Mr. Bowlen,
You have been a great owner for this organization. You are well respected in the community and across the NFL. Under your ownership the Denver Broncos have become worldwide recognized. Invesco is a cadillac among NFL stadiums. I could keep going on and on with the accolades, but what are you going to do about this head coach? He is obviously a mistake. Maybe I am reacting brashly. I suspect not. I totally understand the Cutler trade. If I didn’t call my boss back, I would expect to be fired. I understand the business side of things which lead to the preseason Marshall fiasco. But that is where the line should have been drawn. This young coach has proved arrogant. Which can be the only explanation for the latest incident. In one year, we lost a pro bowl QB(though by default), a fan favorite was systematically under used- if at all, a once in a generation WR will most likely be traded, another fan favorite was benched, a sure tackler is now “freelancing”, two coaches ran for the door, a 3rd “mutually agreed” to part ways, an offensive line which became famous for its scheme was totally overhauled….you get the idea.
I can keep going.
I get the sense Brian Dawkins will no longer play for us. Champ Bailey may be expdendable…Figures I just got his jersey this year. Eddie Royal was non exsistent. Except the Mondy night game in SoCal. Releasing Jack Williams and Brett Kern. Sure Prater only missed 1 or 2 FG’s once Berger took over….
Mr. Bowlen, your “young Shannahan” is totally not. Just young. Too young. What are we going to be? The new New England Patriots? Look, as a fan, I can only be fed McHoodies crap for so long before it becomes just plain crap. Sure we did better in the net average. Please. Sure, lets call out our offensive line in short yardage. Meanwhile, lets play Lamont Jordan. Sure SpiderMarsh might have been hurting, and cautious, but yeah its a good idea to call him out. Lets bench another player because he doesnt have the team mentality…. Its all crap Mr. Bowlen. He wants to talk about accountability, more crap. Lets call it what it is. IN OVER HIS HEAD. What free agent will want to come into this mess. And that is the only adjective I have. mess
Just fire him. Hire Bill Romanowski, Rod Smith….hire me. I could do a better job. Im only 1 year younger than McD. And I know I wouldnt do any worse. Honestly, it doesnt get any worse.
As tough as this is for me to say, without laughing with discontent and desperation, GO BRONCOS 2K10!!!!!
People just love to blame McD
Cutler wasn’t coming back, but again this may have been McD fault
Marshall wanted more money and wasn’t getting it
Turner got a promotion and more money
Dennison got a promotion and more money
Nolan I believe wanted to go to coach another team and make more money.
This people wanted to leave McD didn’t push them.
Then is it time to start blaming Mr. Bowlen?
The thing is a don’t think they could stop these people if they wanted to. If Bowlen payed them more that just means he needs to make more money to cover it, so ticket prices get higher. He has a budget and there is only so much he can do.
Le
If Dean Pees can bring Wilfork and/or Seymore to our line I would be willing to lose Nolan. The system is the same and they both can come in and bring leadership and knowledge of the system.
Let’s see how many of these guys we can trade away and get some mediocre guys to replace them shall we……..
After all it’s the McDaniels way!!!!!
This isnt just about money. Besides, you know how much money is earned by going to the playoffs? Raising ticket prices…just so fans can go boo and leave early. How much do you think us fans will continue to shell out our hard earned money for this crap????
The thing is Pees was thinking of retiring so even if we do get him how long will he be here.
I agree Aussie with some of what you are saying. On the other hand, it just doesn’t seem that McD has built good/consistent rapport with his players and coach’s. A good head coach should be able to construct an environment that atracts good people and is where good people want to be. It just does not seem that he has done that at all. I do like is no nonsense hard working approach but it has to be done in the right way. You want your players to work their butts off for you. To do this you have to earn the players respect and have good people skills. I am just not seeing it right now. Who knows maybe McD knows something that none of us do. I sure hope he does.
Not long, but hey it is one way of looking at it, Nolan wanted out he wasn’t pushed.
What troubles me is why he wanted out. And its not only him. Brian Dawkins..player coach! Im all for it!
BroncoAussie
I do Blame McD!! Who else was the coach this year? I do not Blame Mr Bowlen for making a go with him but letting Nolan go means we are again building a new Defensive and using the 3-4 for only 1 year. Its more then money at play here.
McD 101:
How to dismantle a team close to having all the right pieces to make a Super Bowl run:
Get rid of the Pro-bowl Quarterback .CK! Ignore and/or publicly call out three of your best offensive weapons. CK! Change and/or screw up the best zone blocking offensive line. CK!
Let go 78 years of coaching experience combined. CK! Trade you’re fist round draft pick for a second round draft pick. CK! Hire a 3-4 DC/ Head Coach/expert to help the transition to a 3-4 and then not let him coach a then let him go.CK! Look at yourself in the mirror. CK! Have a New England and High school reunion at Dove Valley. CK!
Just venting here so let me get this out so I can get ready for 2010 fresh and positive.
GO BRONCOS!!
FTR
What about Brian Dawking?
Also, I for one am getting a little sick of the left over Patriots. We keep taking the garbage that they are throwing out. We take all the guys that Bellichek (sp.?) is willing to part ways with. It’s like we are a bunch of bumbs pickn threw the garbage at the New England Patriots facility.
Come on McD. Be original would ya? And build some good relationships with your coach’s and players. Take care of the people that take care of you. If you do that you may have your job for a while.
FTR, we are going to be the laughing stock of the NFL, I fear.
Fire McD and Hire Brian Dawkins. He can play and coach…just kidding!
Yeah I know what your saying it looks bad and he doesn’t smell like roses. But these guys wanted to go and McD wants his own system. We will still play the 3-4 as that is McDs system. And we wouldn’t know for a few more years if he is really destroying the team until his decision pan out into mistakes.
Remember Mike wasn’t getting it done either something had to change, even Mike himself said that.
Man I must have been drinking the Kool-aid this morning????
its never boring in broncoland anymore thats for sure
sndvl:
So be it!!!! At least we took a stand. ( I fear also )
FTR
Nite all I feel better after venting
It is going to be a long off season get all the rest you can.
I agree with FTR and Big D’s take on the whole situation.
Theres something about McD, dunno whether he talks down to people or is unfriendly, or is unreasonable or w/e but he INSPIRES controversy/Drama and people don’t seem to like being around him…Sure the few that talk are diplomatic but I feel theres just something about him….At the end of the day…All i can say is…”It is what it is”
We will never get the full story so just cause you read politically correct statements doesnt mean McD is not the cause bu tit also doesnt mean he is at fault….But when something happens once its a mistake, twice its a habbit, 3 times and we have the latest trend
Thx for the great year Nolan…You worked well with average players at best with the exception of a few. Dumerville finally shined thx to your play calling and coaching…and it sucks to see you go cuz I think we coulda been better with a better crop of defensive players. Im sure McD let Jack Williams go even tho u might have wanted him…and didnt fully consult you on the Draft cuz apparently he is Napoleon ….What a ego maniac…THIS IS JUST MY OPINION
Good day to you all….
But then again….Just like with Dawkins…McD prolly sold Nolan on winning now, and not in 3 years or w/e and when it didn’t quite pan out the way he expected, nolan decided to leave….But I still think McD must not have been the best man to work with…Work is like a relationship….THERES NO SUCH THING AS A MUTUAL BREAK-UP!!!!
I hear ya sizzle…and thought Shanny should never have been fired and only stripped of his overwhelming power and responsibilities and only been the head coach…but it didnt happen that way and it is what it is….I just enjoy the show cuz no matter what we say its not like the care what the fans think…until ticket sales drop…which will never happen cuz while failure has become taboo for the broncos and bronco fans….. broncos fans are one of the most loyal fans
I don’t know!! Maybe Nolan did want out to go be the Defensive Coordinator for another team, and Turner and Dennison got more money, but this does give the feel of having to start all over again.
I gotta agree with Big D 44: A good head coach should be able to construct an environment that atracts good people and is where good people want to be.
McDaniels even said in his last news conference that he has an entire off season to get with his assistants and evaluate all aspects of the past season before evaluating needs in the draft. Now he’ll have to find another Defensive Coordinator before he can truly evaluate that side of the ball, because I’m sure any Defensive Coordinator coming in will want to have a say in those types of personnel acquisitions.
I’ve been on board with the whole “team” mentality since McDaniels came to town, and will continue to support him, but come on, let’s get some chemistry.
I don’t think they will change it, but I hope whoever comes in will stay with the 3 – 4 scheme. Doom really seemed to excel in it and it seemed like felt a little more free to fly toward the ball.
