This Week’s NFL Network Broncos Coverage

January 11th, 2012 - 5:07pm by Gray Caldwell

In advance of Saturday’s Broncos-Patriots matchup in the Divisional round of the AFC playoffs, NFL Network has no shortage of Broncos coverage.

It all starts tonight (Wednesday) at 6 p.m. MST, when Denver’s thrilling 29-23 overtime victory against Pittsburgh in the Wild Card round will be replayed.

Immediately following that show will be Sound FX: Wild Card Weekend at 7:30 p.m. MST. The compilation of the best on-field sights and sounds from around the league last weekend includes wired sound from defensive end Elvis Dumervil.

On Thursday, the network will premiere Sound FX: Tom Brady & Tim Tebow at 7 p.m. MST. The show is described as a compilation of the best on and off field sounds from the New England Patriots quarterback and the Broncos signal caller.

Afterwards, at 7:30 p.m. MST, Denver and New England’s Week 15 clash will be replayed. The Broncos lost the game 41-23 after grabbing an early 16-7 lead.

Finally, on Friday at 6 p.m. MST, NFL Network will broadcast Tim Tebow: Season in Review.

“Tim Tebow’s magical run has brought the Denver Broncos all the way to a Divisional matchup against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots,” the show’s description reads. “Take a look back at Tebow’s storied 2011 season with wired sound and highlights.”

TEBOW NAMED FAVORITE ATHLETE

Speaking of Tebow, ESPN announced that the second-year quarterback is now America’s favorite active athlete, according to an ESPN Sports Poll.

The monthly poll had Tebow at the top for the month of December.

In the 18 years of the ESPN Sports Poll, only 11 different athletes — including Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and LeBron James — have been No. 1 in the monthly polling.

According to ESPN, the poll results were gathered from 1,502 interviews from a nationally representative sample of Americans ages 12 and older.

Behind Tebow on the list, in order, are Kobe Bryant, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

Personal opinion is that the fine R. Moore got – was it preseason? for a hit, made him a bit cautious. With already suspect tackling skills, and no training camp….

Interested in what deeper issues you are thinking TRB?

I’m proud to say that I’ve been to every province and territory in canada………even lived in the high arctic for 5+ years in small inuit communities of like 500 people.

On a road trip back to newfoundland from yellowknife in 2010, my wife and I took the scenic route through the states. Went through montana, south dakota, minnesota, illinois, ohio, pensylvania, new york, conn, mass, maine and then back into canada. We camped the whole way and it was amazing.

Favorite memories were seeing the badlands…..and mount rushmore. The badlands were awesomely freaky! lol

I’ll catch up later guys – have a great day!

  4. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Im sure the fine afected him … he seemed pretty torn up on the sideline.

Deeper issues … I dunno … I am just assuming there MIGHT be. Ony the coaches would know tho. If it was only tackling I would think they would just have him working on tackling ever week and it would be fixed by now. Not like he does much else of anything lol.

Besides, QC made it a mission to improve his tackling before Pitts game and he tackled lights out. Adn i msure after his performance agaisnt NE last time tacklign he will continue (not just him but alot of DBs missed tackles, including champ) … QC has always been a head hunter since college. hard hitter. Like mays …. both sometimes just take wrong angles.

Man I can’t believe that Coach Allen is out in STL interviewing for the head coaching position! Why can’t we ever have stability at DC, I really hope he stays. Us fans should try and do what we can to keep him in Denver — a la Champ, I’ll even pony up some cash to put up a billboard lol.

Anyway, I’m Finally back, whew! I was in ATL and didn’t even think that I would have made the game. Fortunately I was able to put my project to the side for a moment. I flew out here in a rush and witnessed the greatest game I’ve ever seen in the new Mile High, my voice just returned yesterday, but i’m still raspy.

After the game we had a couple of friends over and we played some card games and hit the sticks on some Madden while they drank — I was the only one (besides my wife and some of the fella’s girls) who could drive and went on a late beer run because like I said I rarely drink and was the only sober one. But these fellas were having a great time and wanted to celebrate with some drinks. I ended up staying awake that whole night from all the excitement.

I got a call maybe just about 2-3 hours after I finally hit the sack that I had to fly back out to finish up the project. This artist wanted me to mix it down in this particular studio rather than allow me to get the wav. files sent to me. Needless to say I was pretty irked and had to get back up, pack, and hit the airport. I have been soo drained.

Finally, I got back home last night and mulled over the blogs to see what I have missed out on. A lot of statements actually captured what I wanted to post after the game, but I’ll just post one… I never really agree with some of what imready says — or maybe its just the way he says things, but he hit the nail on the head with this post:

It would be nice if some fans would quit making slanderous comments about the coaching staff, front office staff and players. With no off season they’ve hired a young coaching staff, two of them already being considered for head coaching positions. Accumulated players with talent and heart. Then they took a 4-12 team, completely changed philosophy after 5 games, got into the playoffs and won the Broncos first game in those playoffs after how many years of playoff drought. Against all odds, our players have proven the nay sayers wrong about out Denver Broncos and have won time and time again. A hell of an accomplishment and deserving of more than the constant ridicule by some on these boards. There are no perfect players, coaches or staff in the entire NFL. These guys have done a great job turning this team around, players and staff alike. Show them some love, they’ve earned it. Go Broncos!

Sorry imready but I edited out the personal attacks such as the quotation marks over fans, I don’t believe in attacking ones fandom. However, I kept what I liked about this comment which was a very good statement.

I also wanted to welcome shaz’s hubby rbarker31 to the blog as well as ElwayTebow715 and musicalmaniac27.

There I’m all caught up lol

  18. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Im so mad Dennis Allen who was a positions coach a year ago before getting his first ever DC job with us is already being considered for HC (not to mention he is like 39) … proud of him and nothing but love for him but call me greedy but I hoped he would stay as our DC alot longer and hopefully be the coach of the future. Still young, lotta learning to do and improvements to make. But u can tell he is sharp. I feel wrong for saying this but I hope he doesn’t get the job … our D needs some consistency for once.

  19. millerqbkiller says:

whats up trb im so excited for sat i feel another great victory is coming our way. we steem rolled them last time just beat ourselves a lil bit.

  20. millerqbkiller says:

i think its fair to be greedy and hope DA doesnt get that job

  21. royalbroncofan1 says:

    This from BW @ ESPN:

Four Broncos to watch Saturday night in a divisional playoff game at New England. Kickoff is 8 p.m. ET:

Brodrick Bunkley, defensive tackle: Bunkley had a terrific game against Pittsburgh in the wild-card round and he quietly had a solid season. He is going to have to disrupt the middle of the New England offensive line as the Broncos try to slow Tom Brady.

Quinton Carter, safety: Carter had a strong game against Pittsburgh. The rookie is really coming around. With New England focusing on tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez (who had a huge game against Denver last month) so often, Carter is going to have to come up big again.

Willis McGahee, running back: McGahee shredded the Patriots in Week 15 before he was injured. McGahee has been a star for Denver this year as he had 1,199 yards on the ground. He fumbled twice and lost one that allowed the Steelers to tie the game and send it to overtime on Sunday. McGahee is going to have to play a strong, clean game Saturday night.

Eddie Royal, receiver/returner: With Eric Decker dealing with a knee injury, Royal is going to have to play a big role in this game. He caught a touchdown pass against Pittsburgh. With Demaryius Thomas — who had four catches for 204 yards, including an 80-yard catch to win the game in overtime –likely getting extra attention from New England, Royal is going to have to make some plays.

BW – Could these guys be our 4 horsemen !!

  22. strandoftds says:

    Miller, wonderful read bro.

  23. royalbroncofan1 says:

Nice article on DT mqbk… most of us have known this story since he was drafted. DT does have a never quite attitude as he’s overcome alot of adversity in his young life !

    Way to go Demaryius!!!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!

  24. DBFanFromAzViaMD says:

Afternoon all. Can’t believe DA would even go on an interview before our season is and REALLY hope Mr.Bowlen does everything he can to keep DA in Denver.

  25. millerqbkiller says:

    yep!!

  26. royalbroncofan1 says:

    **never quit attitude**

  27. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    AdamSchefter Adam Schefter
LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne has decided to enter the NFL draft.

if only we could get him … sigh … aint no PP but close enough.

  28. millerqbkiller says:

DA is interviewing in denver so he is not going to st luis and the game plan for denver has already been installed so he wont be missing anything.

  29. strandoftds says:

Yes, I heard the story just a week after we drafted DT. I`m so glad he overcame his injuries too. I almost gave up on him, I`m ashamed to say. I`m happy we have DT as our star WR and better days to come for him too.

  30. strandoftds says:

dennis Allen is a fine coach, I hope he stays in Denver out of my own selfishness. LOL

  31. millerqbkiller says:

i think dt will only get better and more confident in his ability every game he plays

  32. strandoftds says:

    DT is flippen fast, WOW!

  33. millerqbkiller says:

maybe we should all pony up some dough to put up a DA billboard as somebody else suggested. lol

  34. BeastFromEast92 says:

    TRB,

I want Hightower MLB from Alabama, the guy is a Beast!!!

If we go CB,I want Claiborne LSU or Kirkpatrick Alabama!

Hey strand, glad you’re feeling better bro!

  35. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

The read WAS a good one MQBK and it is crazy as all hell to hear David Lee Roth back with the band good stuff guys.

    TRB

I completely agree, call me greedy too. I really hope he don’t get the job as bad as it is to say. But we need some continuity, seriously.

It was a lot to read lol I can speed read though so it wasn’t all that bad lol

    -Royalty

  36. royalbroncofan1 says:

I kept holding out hope for him strand, but it was getting somewhat thin.

We all know McD drafted him to replace B-Marsh (almost same size). I believe B-Marsh is taller but DT looks faster. imo.

  37. BeastFromEast92 says:

I’m pretty sure Fisher will take the Rams job!

  38. DBFanFromAzViaMD says:

Less than 24 hrs. til my flight and 43 hors to game time!!!

I feel like a bipolar/multi-personality patient goin’ up and down arguin’ with myselves about the outcome of the game.

  39. millerqbkiller says:

I saw john brinkis on sports science do a bit on DT and that final catch in overtime it was pretty interesting.

  40. DBFanFromAzViaMD says:

In Denver or not if it were me I’d wait til I KNEW it would not be a potential distraction to my current players.

  41. strandoftds says:

BFE, thanks dude. Hey, lets meet up for the game on saturday night, beers on me. HaHa!! J/K, I wish bro!

  42. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

I think that the Broncos have a chip on their shoulders’ coming into this game with NE. I just hope they can continue to play disciplined football, and get THEM SACKS.

  43. royalbroncofan1 says:

Hope you’re right BFE… hate to lose DA so soon.

  44. millerqbkiller says:

the latest word i have herd on fisher was he was leaning towards the miami job now. i could be wrong but i thought thats what i saw.

  45. strandoftds says:

And DT has no drama queen garbage either, good young man.

  46. millerqbkiller says:

im sure it could be a distraction but these players know this is a buisness and when your coach does good he is gonna be saught after.

  47. DBFanFromAzViaMD says:

Greedy too.Hope DA decides to stay and get a bit more experience as a DC beffore movin’ up.

  48. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

Yeah I really hope fisher gets the nod for the job BFE we need DA to stay so we can continue to gel imagine how nice it would be to go into a complete offseason with DA, these rookies would certainly have a better chance as far as being coached up and able to contribute.
