So the 2009 NFL Draft kicks off at 2 p.m. MDT Saturday afternoon, and DenverBroncos.com has got you covered.

Starting about an hour before the draft begins, we’ll begin a live blog that will run all the way through the end of the first round. There you can discuss any big moves or surprises in the early goings of the draft, as well as comment on the Broncos’ first round selections — Nos. 12 and 18.
We’ll keep you up-to-date on all the picks and any moves the Broncos make.
In addition, Broncos TV will have exclusive footage of Head Coach Josh McDaniels, General Manager Brian Xanders and the rest of the front office in the Broncos’ “War Room” at Dove Valley as they prepare to make the team’s first two selections.
We will also post video and information on all 10 of the team’s draft picks from both days to go along with quotes from McDaniels and the draftees.
There will be daily wrap-ups on Saturday and Sunday, as well.
On Sunday, for rounds 3-7, we will begin a blog in the morning that will be updated when the Broncos make their selections. In addition, the team’s two first-round selections are scheduled to arrive at Dove Valley Sunday, so we will have video of their introductory press conference.

i dont like freeman. i think he’s weak when it comes to decision making and thats what we have to have with mcd’s offense. he’s not a 1st rounder to me. but i will say stafford was a good pick. he’s gonna be a good QB. he’s the only one i would say that about this year. freemans a third round talent its just a weak draft and thats why he’s moved to the 1st round conversation. of course who knows really tho.
i think sanchez will be okay. Overall probably a better career than stafford, but my reasoning and logic for this. Its not because he is better than Stafford, its just the lions SUCK.

Do you have faith in our QBs this year. I do. Just wondering your take on them.
i do like orton but only because of the offense he’ll be playing in. he would be terrible in mike shanahans O but i think he will be pretty good (not great) in mcd’s O. simms is a wildcard. i think he has potential but i wouldnt bet the season on him at this point. i would however bet the season on orton with simms backing him up. i know orton’s not the best thing going but he’s gonna suprise people i think based on how tough people are being on him. he’s a sytem QB no doubt but we have the system for him. i do think he will be replaced within a cupla years but the bottom line is we have to get our D corrected and these two first rounders and third rounders are a good way to do that. sanchez is not good enough to take him in our situation. in my opinion not even close to good enough.

very true. theres definately a chance he takes the job and keeps it. but if he fails we have 2 first rounders next year to move up. win-win if you ask me. either way i think we have a good chance to turn this thing around pretty quickly. by the way i say he goes for 2900 yds, 16 td and 10 int.
cool. I think our 2 first roundersnext year are our safety net if the QBs dont work out. Also like to add Ilike Mcgee fromTexas A&M i believe he fits the system. wouldnot be surprised if he is selected.

Didn’t think I’b be saying this but I like the first two pciks! With 12 the take the best playmaker on the board and a risky pick for 18 but if Mike Mayock says he’s best d-lineman in the draft , I believe it! Go Broncos!
we could have done much better!!! not looking so sweet McD… sure moreno is a great RB, be we already have one (hillis) and you pass up on Orakpo!! terrible decision… couldve drafted quinn way later… you better get us some wins McD and make the playoffs cause this draft SUCKED
I really don’t know how to see this years first two rounds…I’m hoping it’s the scheme and the fact we just don’t know how it will translate onto the field. I know the TE was a surprise, but McD did show he wanted a blocking TE and now he has him. Hopefully this keeps Tony here longer and he’s now off the trading block.
