Tentative Draft Order

March 31st, 2011 - 12:55pm by Gray Caldwell

The NFL just released the tentative round-by-round order for the 2011 NFL Draft.

The Broncos hold seven picks, which are as follows:

Round 1, Pick 2 (2)
Round 2, Pick 4 (36)
Round 2, Pick 14 (46) (from Miami)
Round 3, Pick 3 (67)
Round 6, Pick 21 (186) (from Philadelphia through Detroit)
Round 6, Pick 24 (189) (from New Orleans through New England)
Round 7, Pick 46 (247) (compensatory selection)

Previously, the Broncos’ seventh-round pick was slated at 246th overall, but the second pick of the seventh round, which was previously announced as being forfeited by Detroit, has been reinstated upon appeal, and Detroit will instead forfeit a selection in next year’s draft.

That pushed back Denver’s final selection by one slot.

    WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Miami,Philly,NO,and the NFL for the 4 picks outta 7 we have, thank GOD McD is gone!!!

Here’s to taking the picks we have and making them count!!!!!

    FRONT 7 IN 2011 !!!!!!!!!!

  2. true2broncos says:

It doesn’t matter at that point of the draft you are basically taking guys that would otherwise be college free agents!

I love that we get a FREE 7th rounder!

  3. true2broncos says:

Maybe I could suggest a FULLBACK!!! at #247

FB in 2011!!! You can still get outstanding players in the 7th = i.e. Shannon Sharpe!!!

    ;-) >

  4. tag says:

Let’s hope those first four picks in the top 67 pan out – we can’t afford any misses!

  5. BeastFromEast92 says:

    1.Dareus DT
    2.Jones ILB
    2.Black S
    3.Stocker TE
    6.RB
    6.OL
    7.FB

No BPA this year we need DT,ILB,S,TE!!!!!!!

  6. true2broncos says:

Shannon Sharpe was easily the BEST TE of his ERA!!! I’m so stoked to see him go to CANTAN and I’m excited to hear his HOF Speach!!!

    #84 Hail Sharpe!!!

    ;-)

  7. BeastFromEast92 says:

t2b,good choice, looks like we both want a FB in the 7th!

  8. BeastFromEast92 says:

TD and Tom Brady were both 6th rounders, maybe we get lucky with one!

  9. strandoftds says:

Penningtons days in the NFL are over.

  10. strandoftds says:

BFE, I like your two sports. Your one sick puppy. If I got paid for drinking I`d be off the clock in no time. Can you say light weight! LOL. All in fun bro.

  11. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Sure we could thank NE, Miami and Detroit, but we lost stuff of more value to get less picks not to mention by loosing the people and picks in question, we had to squander other picks on replacement players ie Bay Bay but we already know that…

With that said, Guess we have more picks than I thought, I pretty much think anything about the 5th round is a LONG shot but not bad I suppose. Id actually rather trade the 2 6′s and 7 for a 4th round pick lol but no team would be dumb enough to do that, cuz lets be honest, half the cats in the 6th and 7th round projections could easily be rookie FA. Which we can get for free lol, and there is sometimes undrafted talent. Nothing to do in round 4 and 5 :-(

Round 1, Pick 2 (2) CB Patrick Peterson
Round 2, Pick 4 (36) DT Stephen Paea
Round 2, Pick 14 (46) RB Mikel LeShoure (only cuz I think Fox wants one)
Round 3, Pick 3 (67) LB Greg Jones
    Round 6, Pick 21 (186) DT
    Round 6, Pick 24 (189) TE
    Round 7, Pick 46 (247) FB

Dunno if you have been paying attention BFE but ILB Greg Jones stock has dropped majorly, due to his size and the fact that he ran like a 4.8 at the combine…he is not more of a 3rd round prospect but you and I both know he is a tackling machine and I think he can be a steal in the 3rd round but just like LB Spikes last year, a slow 40 has done him in.

Hey bay I know it aint April Yet but you can go ahead and lock in my picks lol

    2P’s = D in 2011 TRB out…

  12. mrbroncofan says:

Hmm. Wasn’t Peyton Hillis a 7th round draft pick who has turned out to be a pretty good rb. Oh wait McD traded Hillis away for a third string qb. Well maybe we can get another rb/fb in the 7th round that turns out to a good player. Thanks McD for setting us back two years. Of coarse he did draft Tim Tebow, about the only thing that I like that he did and that has yet to prove to be a good pick.

  13. mrbroncofan says:

The more I think about it the more I like trading back in the draft. If possible trade back to maybe 4th or 5th pick. I really think Dareus, Peterson, or Miller will still be there and then we could get some extra picks. Dareus probably won’t be there but I would be happy with any one of those guys.

  14. Mikeyb1203 says:

I still think we should go for the safety in the 7th. Proinski I think was his name dude is a beast.

  15. strandoftds says:

That Safety just might be a good steal. He has a nose for the ball and a good tackler. He really wraps the offensive player up. I like him.

  16. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Mikey I looked him up after u mentioned him. He seems like he has potential, and not at a high cost to us. For all you know he may go undrafted or we can get him with the second round pick and a FB with the 7th round pick like I stated. I think 7th round is FB round and hopefully we get another stud but lightning rarely strikes twice in the same place.

mrbroncofan, for what its worth, I agree with u if we could trade back and still remain in the top 5 (and still get PP lol). We might be able to snag a 4th round pick. And if we ever trade orton that could be another 2nd rounder or 3rounder & 5th rounder or something. Either way we have many ways to get more picks if we so choose.

  17. broncofanak says:

    Hey all!
I’ve been reading these blogs for close to a year. I finally just had to sign up! This is my draft wishlist.
    1. Dareus
    2.Rahim Moore

    3. Greg Jones
    6. mark herzlich LB
    2nd 6.Proinski?
    7. FB
btw, am I the only one who thinks not having a 4th and 5th really stinks?

  18. mex bronco says:

    1- marcel dareus
    2-rahim moore
    2- marvin austin-caesy mathews
    3-casey mathews- marvin austin
    6-TE
    6-CB
    7-FB

  19. strandoftds says:

I`m really rooting for Mark Herzlich. The guys a overcomer thats for sure. I`m all for drafting him in the 6th.

  20. 1nOnlyTRB says:

I believe someone once asked where money for the fines go. I said it was charity and I was correct. Either way heres some more Q and A about the CBA. Interesting read, lot of stuff u already know but some u dont or wouldnt think was actually spelled out:

    http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2011/03/10-questions-what-was-inside-the-nfls-expired-cba/1

Even making alot of money via salaries (which of course a percentage goes to agents and etc) organizations and the NFL pay for like everything lol

  21. broncos20 says:

    GOOD NEWS!

Doom’s charge has been dropped! any word on Cox’s?

  22. baylinorcrush says:

The Doom’s assault in the parking lot!?!?!?

That was an utter joke since the beginning that I knew didn’t have a chance in hell to stick from what I had heard about it.

Ask TRB, he brought that argument about Doom my way when I was making my case about how stupid DJ had been behaving with his “forgot to turn on the lights” DUI at 2 am! No comparaison, Doom was refused entrance to the stadium by an employee of the stadium, gimme a break, not recognizing a practice squad guy, I can see that, but not recognizing Doom, that should be a prerequisite to get a job at the stadium! LOL.

  23. baylinorcrush says:

The same great outcome is going to be difficult to get in the cases of Cox and DJ…. We are not talking having an argument with a parking attendant there! So many players are dumb and dumber, in DJ’s case, with all his money he chooses to go out and get drunk and drive home in the middle of the night while limos are provided for free for NFL players in these cases! And for Cox, well I won’t go into that kind of allegation on this site, but the guy was the question mark character wise among our 2010 draft picks and he is not disappointing us, him and Dez, both from the same college, are not exactly on my fav list even so both attended the same school that my son graduated from (OSU) and at the same time no less, so I knew both very well. At the time I liked the Cox pick but that dummy makes it harder and harder, if he is convicted, you can kiss this fan’s arse goodbye, Perrish, in fact your NFL career might just perish from it, haha.

  24. baylinorcrush says:

    But innocent until proven guilty.

    That’s how it works, right?

  25. strandoftds says:

Happy for DOOM. It`s obvious that they were going to drop the charge. Talk about idiotic.

  26. strandoftds says:

    Holy Cow, It`s April!!

  27. baylinorcrush says:

    This just in:

Credible inside sources have leaked out that Elway is heavily leaning on drafting Gabbert with the #2 pick if the Panthers don’t grab him first and if they do pick Gabbert that will force Elway into plan B which is drafting Locker in a later round, meaning the current regime is obviously in no way enamored with Tebow and his days here may be counted. WOW!

  28. imready says:

    crap, hope that isn’t true.

  29. dontdewittit says:

Bay’s recent post comes as no surprise to me as I said ALL of last season, we will NEVER see Tim Tebow wearing a Bronco uniform in a meaningful game. I stand by that assessment.

  30. danso says:

I absolutely don’t believe Elway would use the #2 pick for any quarterback with our current defensive needs and our current quarterback situation okay. If they want to keep the fan base happy they must give Tebow a fair shot before they start talking about making changes. Wow, what are they trying to do. They bluffing someone or trying to start a mutiny?

  31. potter381 says:

If they use our first pick on any offensive position I will already have lost any hope in our new leadership. We don’t need Elway turning in to Matt Millen and pissing away high draft picks.

  32. strandoftds says:

Jake locker will be a fine backup QB some day.

  33. strandoftds says:

All smoke-screens. There`s no way the Bronco`s are looking for a starting QB. A backup maybe.

  34. baylinorcrush says:

    April’s fool!!!

    Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. danso says:

Bay you are something else. Got me hook, line and sinker!

  36. royalbroncofan1 says:

You should’ve kept it going a little longer bay ! You would’ve had a mutiny for most/all the bloggers… lol!
I was wondering when I read “credible source”… lol !

  37. Casinoroyal19 says:

I’m feeling good about this draft contest lol. I almost have my picks ready. Oh and that was a good joke bay. Royalbroncofan1 is right though. You should have had that go for like a whole day and see what kinda chaos would erupt in here lol

  38. Yovi21 says:

I think the Broncos are looking for someone to trade back with, maybe the Bills Cards or Bengals…there is a good chance that someone we really want PP, Miller, fairley or Bowers will still be on the board!

    PP in 11′

  39. strandoftds says:

Bay, You scared me bro. I should`ve known.

  40. potter381 says:

Bay, not cool man. Good one though

  41. strandoftds says:

Man, I thought to myself for the next month I`m gonna wonder what `s the real scoop. Dad burn-it. LMAO!

  42. strandoftds says:

It`s great though because Bay is a serious guy most of the time. He sure got me.

  43. sndvl says:

Hilarious Baylin. You beat me to it!!!!!

  44. collies10 says:

Bay I near choked on a chip!!! lol 10 outta 10 mate

  45. baylinorcrush says:

Well, yeah I thought about letting it sit a little longer so more bloggers would take the bait, but I’m not really a mean guy at heart so I just couldn’t bring myself to make you guys feel bad for too long, danso was precious though, hahaha!

  46. baylinorcrush says:

Potter’s reaction was pretty good too…

  47. potter381 says:

Man I was at work in a bad mood after reading that. I’m sure I was rude to a few customers in the process.

  48. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Bay got me as well, between that article on the NFL.com homepage about elway and QBs and what bay just joked about…I believed it. I was almost about to explode and I probably wouldnt watch football this season if it happened (…….yea right but still lol).

To think I told my self I will not be caught by april fools this year…and ive already been caught 3 times. by 2 websites and by bay…..go figure lol

PP EXPRESS!! P-Squared in 2011. Happy April Fools Day. TRB out…

  49. strandoftds says:

If Bay we have held onto this until tonight the mutiny would be in full force. Classic!

  50. strandoftds says:

Dog in it. If Bay would have………….. Not we.
