Tebow’s Philanthropy Abroad

November 15th, 2011 - 5:17pm by Max Henson

After a day of practice preparing for the New York Jets and time spent answering questions about their stingy defense, quarterback Tim Tebow discussed an exciting new development taking place with his foundation and its partnership with CURE International.

“We’re building a hospital in the Philippines that we’re very excited about,” Tebow said. “Just trying to make a difference in kids’ lives and brighten their day.”

“I know this is a big game coming up and it’s a big practice today,” he added. “But ultimately that might be the coolest thing I’m doing this week.”

Tebow was born in the Philippines and his parents have been missionaries in the area for years.

Construction of the children’s hospital is set to break ground in January and Tebow said he hopes to visit the site sometime in the offseason.

“It’s just special because you get an opportunity to help some people in need and help people that don’t necessarily have an opportunity to help themselves,” Tebow said. “That’s what my foundation’s all about, to bring faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. If we can do that, then it’s something that’s special.”

Tebow is not overly sensitive like many, he’ll turn that into an added reason to work his tail off to become a better pocket passer, which ultimately he needs real badly if he wants to be the long term Bronco QB that is.

I agree, and besides, I don’t think they are considering all the different running ‘looks’ they are giving now as being ‘regular running’ anyway.

  3. seweatherman1 says:

Do you kind of have a feeling that they are working on that a bit right now, but plan to really hit it hard in the off season when tey have a lot more time to dedicate to jusy doing that type training. Elway did make trhe comment one time about wanting to work with Tebow in the off season.

  4. baylinorcrush says:

I still got to figure out if Tebow will do enough this season to force Elway’s hand to be the starter long term before I even go there.

Royal, doing good. Nah, I don`t have any plans this year as far as going to a home game. I`ll stick with watching at home or the Sports bar to see my games.

He could have just said “we are more effective with Tebow running the option attack” which is more of a compliment to his running abilities.

Instead he says he’d be screwed, implying a negative comment about his passing ability.

Same point being made, different ways of stating it

  7. Atwater4HOF says:

Tebow might not be sensitive to it. But all it does is fuel the media’s opinion that Fox and Elway want Tebow to fail blah blah blah. And as we’ve seen, the Broncos are very conscious of the media and fan perceptions.

I just felt it was an uncecessary jab and Fox should know better than to make comments like that.

  8. Atwater4HOF says:

How will we know if Tebow has done enough to warrant the job? If Fox thinks we’d be screwed in a regular offense and doesn’t run it all season then it’ll be difficult to make that assessment.
