Tim Tebow is now the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos.
On Tuesday, Head Coach John Fox made the announcement to the media after telling the team in an early morning meeting.
“We announced (to the team) that Tim Tebow would start the Miami game and we’re moving forward.”
Tebow, who has thrown for 733 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions — in addition to 264 rushing yards and seven touchdowns — in 12 career games, will make his first start of the 2011 season against the Miami Dolphins in Week 7.

no sndvl. Aikman is not on the list.
2. p manning
3. b favre
#2 Brett Favre?
You guys have these.
1. Marino
2. Manning
3. Favre
4. Elway
6 is young
Crap, I did mean to put #3 as Favre. Oh well. lol
Yep, 6. Young.
#5 should be easy. Hint. Young got into a heated argument with him Sunday about Tebow on national TV.
i give up on the 5th lol
5. Dilfer
Now that we have these, what was the actual point I am trying to make with these stats?
Tebow will throw a lot of picks? lol
I was gonna say Hasselback…Dilfer LMAO
that a lot of greats started off rough?
i mean the most wins was 8.. most threw more ints the tds
Dilfer Great? lol. Though he does have more superbowl wins than Marino.
And as many as the Great Peyton!!!
Favre only has one too!
lol i was going off of elway, young, manning, marino, favre.. i think dilfer was a throw in lol
And technically steve young has three, only one as a starter
4 of the greatest QBs of all time, took time to turn into superstars?
Actually, my point here is…some of these are in the HOF, like Young for instance. His 1st year stats look like crap, to say the least. 1-12 record is not really that good. None of their stats look that good at the end of their 1st full season, so before we crucify someone after there 1st year, we might remember these greats.
p.s. I don’t consider Dilfer as great. I threw him in because of his total negativity toward TT.
lol see i knew he was a throw in.. no wonder his name didnt cross my mind
I mean 5.
Correct randy. He just p***d me thye h**l off is what he did. To sit on national TV and argue with Steve Young about TT. Just nuts man!!!
did you guys hear Trent Dilfer say that now isnt the time to start Tebow? If now isnt the time when will it be? The only problem i have with Tebow starting is it will keep the Fake Bronco Fans around. The same people who will leave if Tebow cant cut it. I never wanted Tebow but I supported him because he is a Bronco. I hope he proves me wrong. I told people at work that if Tebow can get us to 7 or 8 wins this year i will go out and buy his jersey.
according to something i was reading i forget where they said if our team doesnt go atleast 6-5 the rest of the way the think denver will find a new QB.. heck if we go 6-5 the rest of the way i would die laughing cuz that means thanks to tebow my 7-9 prediction would be right lol
Wow!! Just heard the second phone interview from Urban Meyers on ESPN… Very good! Hope the Team was listening!!!
Troy Aikman
11 games / 11 start / record 0-11 / 155 comp / 293 att / 18 int / 9 td
those Aikman stats are just for you sdvl.
Ya, In Aikmans first year the Cowboys went 1-15. Now thats bad. And two years later the won the SB.
They won the SB.
so does this mean what we should expect from tebow is 3 losses in the superbowl and finally in his 14th season winning 2 back to back? lol cuz i cant wait 14 years for another superbowl win lol
Hopefully he will win his 1st of several in about 2 years, 3 tops.
Steve Young got his start with the LA Express of the USFL before coming to Tampa Bay in the NFL.
If you can find his USFL first year stats that would be interesting.
Oh please let Tebow prove everybody wrong. Having Tebow be the man and play like the man he is will give this team and organization so much credibility. The jobs of EFX and their know how can be saved here if Tebow does what I know he’s going to do…..be successful!
Trent Dilfer “The Broncos future quarterback isn’t on the roster”
Merle Hodge “Just play him what else you got to lose”
I hope these words were meant as encouragement not just for Tebow but for the rest of the team. If you have any smarts you can read between the lines here, people don’t expect much of the team and they certainly don’t expect much of Tebow. So Tebow is the perfect guy to light a fire under the team and the fan base of the Broncos. I don’t care how Tebow get’s it done, just win games buddy, do whatever you have to do to win games. If it ain’t going well for him under center he’s going to rally the D, rally the special teams and rally the fans. Believe in Tebow people you’re better off if you do.
I don’t know why so many people pick on his mechanics, have you seen Philip Rivers and his short arm delivery???? These are the things we constantly hear “his footwork is bad, long delivery, plays reckless, looks to scramble”…..not many people in the league besides Rodgers and Brady have the opposite of these traits which would mean they are 5 star qb’s.
I would rather have alot of other qb’s in this league running our offense besides Kyle Orton but instead of Tebow, I can only name a few.
Tebow’s intangibles are off the charts, how do you game plan for a guy that can chuck it 60 yards down the field rolling to his weak side or run you over and go for 30 yards?
This team will rally around him I mean how do you not get caught up in what he brings to the game……….he sure does have the fans support and I’m one of his biggest supporters. People have doubted me from time to time and I’ve managed to prove them all wrong, doubt Tebow all you want but he’s in the business of proving people wrong and proving to himself he belongs. The future is now people, believe in it because it’s only going to get better.
Go Tebow
Go Broncos
Tebow for president!
We need to find another premier HB again. It wasn’t until we had TD that we finally got over the hump. We don’t have one now or at least we don’t have one that is performing like one.
Tebow will be fine. Just imagine how good he can be when he actually gets all the first team snaps and all the experience he will get from actually playing the games. The sky is the limit with this guy. Like I said, hopefully Tebow is the answer to the Bronco’s woes so we can draft at our other needs next year. Im not really expecting we make the playoffs. I mean lets be real here, as long as we can be competitive, Im fine with that.
I also don’t think that Goodman is all that great. We desperately need to upgrade there, and Champ is getting older. I dont know how many more years we can expect him to perform at the level we expect him to.
What’s going on with Miller. Has anybody heard anything bout his benching?

So I saw Skip Bayless saying that John Elway wasn’t really backing Tebow. To my knowledge I haven’t heard Elway say anything yet and I can’t find anything online. Anyone else know what Skip is talking about?
Its because Elway and Fox have been cautious about building hope on TT. Bayless is great at creating controversy and also said Fox and Elway don’t deserve TT. Pretty radical statement!
I heard a lot of good things about jTT today and his old college coach said that TT was the 2nd most efficient passer in College History and that his best quality was leadership. That is d…. encouraging.
ya Broncos Born …. I cant either. I watched his rant on ESPN but i cant find what interview he is refering to. But from the sounds of things it must be VERY recent, like this morning after the announcement or something. VERY interested in that! If anyone finds a link let me know.
QQ = NOT rocket science apparently..
GO BRONCOS

Skips audio for today talking Tebow.
Haven’t had a chance to listen.
Yup still not finding anything. I’ll definitely be tuned to 850 KOA in an hour. Geez can it be that this contreversey still isn’t over?
Well I found this. Elway talks about Tebow halfway through the video. He is answering a question specifically about the fan reaction to Tebow so if this is what Skip is talking about I don’t see why he got bent out of shape about it.

Really happy about TT becoming our new starter. Hopefully Fox lets him play and doesnt bench him if the first drive ends in a punt. Give the kid a few games. It was pretty obvious that TT looked very uncomfortable at first. It was his first serious play time in over a month which is understandable. His performance as a “QB” wasnt great but his leadership really stood out. I think the team rallied around him and put up a great effort. I also think McGahee did a fantastic job getting the team to rally around tebow after he made some lack luster plays. Given TT will have a full week to practice with the starters i expect a much improved”QB” performance next game. Hopefully this QQ is finally over and we finally get a chance to see what we have in Tebow. Wishing him and the broncos the best.
Now that my computer s off life support, it’s tiome for me to put my two cents worth into the TT and Suck for Luck discussion.
SUCK FOR LUCK
Contenders:
Miami (0-4) Starting QB is asecond rate backup. They’re #1.
Indy: (0-5) Mannings replacement is better than Miami started with a better D. #2
Jacksonville (1-4) Same QB problems. #3
St. Loius (0-4) McD sure can turn gold inrto manure.
Carolina (1-4) #1 pick sure is a winner. #4
Denver (1-4) Killer schedule. #5
Pretenders:
Minnesota (1-4) With AP, they can win any game.
Philly (1-4) Dream Team? More like nightmare, but they’ll right the ship.
Arizona (1-4) Lots of weak oppponents.
TT TIME!!!
At the start of preseason the Broncos asked which QB will give us the best chance to win. Wrong question. The question should have been who can improve the most. Orton is as good as he’ll ever be. His lack of mobility will always be a major flaw. Brady Quinn showed in the preseason that he’s as good (bad) as he’ll ever be. TT was the only QB with a strong possibility of improving his performance. But, that was then, this is now.
There are many now saying that TT is the answer. You’re wrong. There are many who are now saying that TT is not the answer. You’re also wrong. The answer is nobody knows including TT.
What the entire Broncos organixation and it’s fan base need to do is look at the next 11 games as TT’s 2012 OTA’s, mini-camps and preseason games withg the offensive starters. At the end of those 11 games the picture will be much clearer.
We’ll almost certainly have a top 10 pick and quite possiblky a top 5 pick. What the Broncos do with that pick will be determined entirely by TT’s play. The burden on his back.
My dream is to have TT show that he can become the QB we’d all like him to be and do some wheeling and dealing with our top 5 pick.
Comparison with Kyle Orton/Tim Tebow is like Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady.
In No way am I comparing Tebow to Brady but I am stating facts in this manner.
Drew Bledsoe was a decent Quarterback yet he was a statue… Very boring, He’d never run the ball when everyone was covered he’d just take the sack or throw into coverage and it’ll end up a INT.
Tom Brady comes in as a Backup, is more mobile than Drew and begin to put a spark into the Patriots Organization. Brady was not a star overnight, He had his faults, he made mistakes but at least NE gave him a chance and he was able to prove himself and eventually take the Patriots to the Superbowl.
Now with Orton, I see the same thing happening now. Very boring, and a statue, he’ll throw an INT when WR’s are in coverage and this has caused him to be another “Drew Bledsoe” type of QB.
Tim Tebow wants to WIN Period., just like any other QB.
The good thing about Tebow is that he’s mobile, he brings that spark that motivates the offense AND defense, being there at the game this past sunday seeing 1st hand how hyped the team was once Tebow ran it in the end zone was priceless.. Then you get the Media and Even good ol “Legendary” “Chicken Fried Chicken” Alfred Williams stated “if Tebow does not do good THIS YEAR”, ship him out. Really? Just one year to prove themselves? From what I’ve observed from QB’s they are not SB status in a year.. Peyton Manning started off with the Colts 3-13, was he shipped?
Now look at Peyton. Super Bowl QB and a Future hall of famer..
Broncos gave Kyle a chance, he began 6-0 then from there went 12-21, The motive is no longer there and watching the game with him in it is pretty boring.
Now as an Organization, Give Tebow a chance, have him practice on his areas where not only himself know about but the coaches and others know about and mold him into a great Broncos Franchise QB, just don’t give up on him already.
It’s just sad that some of these “Experts” and “fans” are already ready to ship out Tebow just incase he does not perform and trying to promote this whole “Suck For Luck” ordeal which to me is plain stupidity… and yes, yesterday on 1043 the fan, I heard Alfred “Gap tooth CHicken Fried Chicken” Williams say “we should suck for Luck”.. stupid.. My reply to that is

This whole “We’re rebuilding our team, again and again and again…. “is old.
Let Tebow Shine and give us Bronco Fam the spark that’s been lost for quite sometime.
