And tebow squeeks one out again. wether its wins or awards, he just seems to somehow get them. doesnt matter how ugly, he just DOES.
Great!! Two awards in just a few weeks. We need more of these. Way to go team!
Tebow to Decker won’t earn anything this week, LOL.
I know carnage has had some very good insite and predictions. I remember his position on the 6-0 start. I will credit him for that. I was not trying to throw him under the buss and sorry if it came across that way. I just wanted to make my postion clear. People can criticize Tebow all they want, I feel that they should also give credit where he has earnesd it. I just dont like the all or none thing. People who can’t find one good thing to say about him bother me as much as those who think he is flawless. and again that last line was not pointed directly at carnage, just a statement about this whole Tebow drama in general.
I fear every week that the wheels on this crazy ride are going to fall off. I just cant get out of my seat!!
S.D.Bronco30, I know the feeling. It’s like going to the amusement park and getting on the ride that scares the bejesus out of you and then going back the next week and doing it again. You know what is coming but you do it anyway. Some days you don’t get as scared as you do others but you are still always half afraid the infernal thing is going to fly off the track and wipe out everybody, but you just can’t help yourself!
I agree 100%, by the middle of the third quarter I thought ALL the wheels had fallen off, that we were done, cooked and ready for comsumption, so much so that the rest of our seaon looked bleak to me including Tebow’s chances of making it here long term and 5 minutes later the car drives just dandy and hope is eternal for another week, crazy stuff! And that’s the truth of the matter about how I felt watching this game.
consumption
I mean Tebow was so bad had he lost with the ten days off they could of very well decided to start Quinn against the Chargers, that’s how bad it was and I would never argue how bad Carnage says Tebow was with him, just saying.
Tebow did great but lets give some credit to the defense. they have kept it close the last couple weeks and tebow was able to pull some 4th quarter comback out of his ass thankfully. if tebow steps it up in the passing game and the defense stays strong, we are in the playoffs.
henryac and bay, yep exactly how I feel. half the time during these games I am on the couch grumbling and cussing the team and Tebow and the other half I am cheering and jumping up and down going crazy. It is indeed a wild ride and that is why I do it week in and week out, plus I love this team like crazy and have my whole life.
I still wnat to try to clarify I was not trying to completely argue with carnage, I just felt he had singled me out and was thinking I was one of the blind Tebow supporters. So I pointed out a few things I felt he was a little one tracked about, but i do agree that Tebow was terrible for a good portion of the game. If you guys were in the same room as me during a game you could cout how many times I say “come on Tebow what the heck” (only not heck). again he has a LONG way to go to improve his passing game, I just love the excitement he brings and his never quit attitude!
Sorry plenty of typing errors in the last post, but you guys get the idea.
I think “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osbourne should be this seasons theme song!
There are times where Tebow should put touch on a throw rather than zip it. He`ll get there. How long can this last. I`m having fun with this. Now lets see if the rest of the AFC west loses.
Collies10 – Kudos to you for staying up watching the game last night. I wussed out and went to bet as I had meetings in London today. Waking up today seeing the clips from the game and reading all the reports, I wish I had stayed up..
You are a better fan than me
Miller is 5 sacks away from tying the rookie sack record by Javon Kearse in 1999 with 14 1/2 sacks, and 6 sacks to break that record. I`d sure like to see Von Miller pull that off.
Lets see, we have what 6 games remaining? With that and the fact he is avg 1 sack per gane, I think he will surpass the record easily. Be nice to have another Bronco listed in the record books.
The reason people give Tebow what appears to be TOO much credit is because there are some that refuse to give him any. At the end of the day … it balances out.
Kid didn’t wint it by himself…but he is the driving force of this team that keeps them fighting and believing. Not just by his play but by sheer will to win. And u gotta respect that.
Another week, another Tebow “fluke” win. Man, when do constan flukes become a trend? Hmmm..
Anyway congrats to Tebow and Decker. I truly believe Tebow more than anyone … and the entire broncos team this season exemplifies “Never say never” … and if we keep this up, we maybe the comback team of the year. But its looking like either the Bengals or the niners.
TRB
I liked this article:

S.D. Bronco30, Henryac, Bay, I’m coming from the same ride and feeling. One thing for sure is the team has me praying by the end of the game each week. I think, that’s a good thing… and it feels great when the clock shows 0:00 and we’re in the lead.
If there is any tie breaker in the future for a Wild Card, we hold our destiny in our own hands with wins like this one and the Bengals. We have a chance to beat the Bills and the Patriots and that would gives us an upper hand later….Maybe!
Either way……
Just WIN!
Love the Broncos and Broncos Country.
Great article TRB! He hit the nail on the head!!!
TO SD I am not sure if I singled you out…I rarely do that…now I get called out all the time….by “name”….I wasn’t making an exampl;e of anyone…I just try to respond to those comments I see…and then if someone does say something directly to me I try to answer it. I am sure people feel I am a “debbie downer” I know this because it has been said, that I have an “ilk”, that has been said and that they can’t blog because I am too negative but I have said 100 times or more what I believe Tebow’s strength to be and that is running…I say he is a good runner….but to heap praise on him for this victory…too much…there were waaaaay too many elements from others that made it happen when frankly he stunk MOST of the game.
Bronc on Carnage!
Or he got hit in the head by a nail, haha.
Tebow will win the award again for his TD run against the Jets. GO BRONCOS !!!!
Haha, good one Bay!
Found this…
“You could just tell he was very amped up,” Broncos tight end Dante Rosario said of the final drive. “He was very emotional, but in control. You could tell he had that excitement in his eyes like he knew what was about to happen.”
By the middle of the drive, Rosario said, other players started believing, too. The offensive line started demanding, “We’ve got to put it in the end zone.”
Very cool RH709!!! Those are the exact moments when Orton would crumble!
As we bask in the euphoria of a GREAT win, allow me to interject my comments and observations …
It was indeed a great win, even if 54 minutes were filled with agony … the defense, which was so on everybody’s mind going into the season, continues to amaze … even the much maligned Andre Goodman stepped up and became a local hero (possibly his 15 minutes of fame) … I really think the return to the 4-3, putting what DLmen we have at their more natural positions, and the relative health of ALL the defense, and the addition of Von Miller, and the contribution of our aging secondary, along with other key rookies, has allowed this defense to jell around whatever Coach Ryan is selling them … Miller is SO GOOD … he makes a few rookie mistakes, but his attack skills are relentless … he’s made life miserable for two QBs in a row … he even caused the Jets to modify their offensive game plan by utilizing the 3 step drop and quick release which caused Sanchez to ultimately make the mistake we all were sure he would make … yes, the defense in Denver has become something to really get excited about … a few key additions for next year, and we could be on to something …
Offensively, you have to admit the Jets figured things out pretty well … we were NOTHING for 54 minutes … how agonizing to have great field position so many times and then go 3 and out … of course we were all waiting for that final “5 minutes”, hoping we were within 1 score (and which we wouldn’t have been without that defensive effort) … and speaking of the “option offense” like the commentators were beating to death, it looked to me like most of the time we were just making simple handoffs to backs, which the Jets were continually stuffing … yes, the Jets had that game in the bag (just like Miami and the Raiders did) … once in a while we ran some form of option, with Tebow pitching to a back or Eddie Royal, but for the most part it was just handoffs … Tebow only kept it and ran twice before that final drive … my step-son thinks our offensive strategy just lulls the opponents defense to sleep, and that when things pick up at the end, the opponent hasn’t been able to adjust … I don’t know …
Now for Tebow … right now, Tebow is a TERRIBLE quarterback … however much he excites you, and however much he’s been able to pull these games out in the end, right now he is a TERRIBLE quarterback … he’s tough – he’s gritty – he has a HUGE heart – he’s tough to bring down – and he has this amazing knack of being able to find the seams in the defense, waiting for just the right opportunity to slash through the opening … to say he’s a running back playing the quarterback position is too simplifying – even most running backs don’t have that sense of looking for the right path through the defense … it’s amazing, near the goalline, he just finds his way through the maze of players, with hardly a hand being laid on him … I really have never seen anything like it … it recalls memories of Vince Young while at Texas, in the Rose Bowl against USC, looking like a man among boys … but Young never did that in the pros – maybe he wasn’t given the opportunity – and now he’s gone – but Tebow has made it work, so far … BUT – Tebow MUST somehow find the skills to play QUARTERBACK … will he??? … that’s the $64 question … I wonder how long he’ll get?? … surely through this year, and probably into next year … but sooner or later the Broncos will have to fish or cut bait … does that mean getting rid of Tebow?? … I hardly think so … what it will mean is they’ll have to devise another way to utilize his unique skills … and that won’t be easy – the quarterback is almost by default the team leader – and Tebow is that in spades – so any thought of moving him to running back or inventing something new to utilize his skills will be very difficult, both physically and psychologically, for him AND for his teammates … of course, he could develop into a marvelous quarterback, able to read defenses, throw passes within 5 or 10 yards of his receivers, and become one of the best ever … or the pounding could take it’s toll, he’ll get hurt, and become just an asterisk in NFL lore … as I told my step-son, he’s gotten up from every hit so far, but it only takes one …
Well – on to San Diego … quite an interesting season it has become … quite different on the blogosphere than the days of McD …
Obviously, many things have been discussed about Tebow.
One thing is clear to me (and if you ever played sports at a decent level you may understand). Tebow is the guy on the the team that thinks winning is possible even when down 60 points with 30 seconds to go in the fourth and going into a hurricane wind. If you have played sports you have propbably played with this guy on your team. The “it isn’t over yet” guy. Most of us appreciate where this guy is coming from but realize that that kind of thing is just impossible.
Tebow is the epitome of the “it is over yet” guy. Believing it isn’t over has led him to do some unexplainable things.
Anyway, what I think is the most important thing about this is he has made his teammates believe it isn’t over. They don’t just believe he can do it, they believe THEY can do it.
This team is really starting to believe in itself and it shows at every individual position.
GO TEAM BRONCOS!
It`s beer 30 in Tennessee. BFE, should be on ins minutes because it`s TGIF time. I want a brewsky now that I think of it.
We won. It`s a rock n roll weekend.
It`s a team win. With our D we lose this game. A win is a win any way you slice it.
Without our D we lose I meant.
Our D is looking scary. Just think how brutal our D will be in a year or two. Watch out NFL!
Obviously Wiemin meant coach Allen, not Ryan, still had Jets on his mind. And he was easy on Tebow, lots easier than Carnage, and these two bloggers are made from the same mold regarding Tim and Orton, so it’s obvious Wiemin was more impressed by Tebow’s late heroics than Carnage, a good sign maybe?
And I agree all heartily, it only takes one hit, but Tebow obviously likes to hit and get hit, no getting around that seems like, probably have to live with it until he can’t go, Tebow sems to want to live life all at once and all out all the time and I don’t think he is specially concerned about his long term future in this league, it’s all out now and every game for him no matter what the coaches would tell him, it’s his nature, coaches are obviously learning that’s the only way he’ll be able to contribute in this league so they let him loose, we just need a real good back up if we decide to stick with Tebow would be our best insurance.
Bay, et al:
Thanks for all the kind words and especially the promation to ther level of genius (LOL). Trust me, it’s nothing but dumb luck. As I said in my prediction post, my gut said to go with the Jets (I’d decided on 17-13). But, instead went with my heart and simply reversed who got what points. Genius? Just on an unbeleviable hot steak. I really, really enjoy the good natured kidding that goes on most of the time.
Buy the way, although my handle is OSS, in moved from Boulder to Kentucky in 1989 “thanks” to IBM and retired in a little town (Allouez) in Upper Michigan in 2000, but kept my two South Stand tickets and was able to sell them until last year when I had no takers and had to give them up as I could couldn’t afford the $1500 expense. To say the least, I was totally bummed. Fortunately for me I was able to attend the final game in old Mile High and the first two (preseason) at the new Mile High.
I’ll blead Orange and Blue with my final breath.
I’m tired of the heart attack games. While I like the wins, I keep thinking handing out heart meds to fans would be a good promo for the team.
Good job by the D last night.
I believe that several people thought the same as I last night that the Jets touchdown was fishy. It looked to me as though the “fumble” was intentional. I know I’m being a homer on that one but it was very questionable.
When we got stuck at the 5 on the last drive, I kept thinking “The Drive” and “We’ve got them right where we want them”. Even posted it last night and then Woody mentions it today. Good stuff!!!
There will always be one game called The Drive, that game was to send it to OT to go to the SB, this was to go 5-5, just saying, Woody can get carried away at times, but love the enthusiasm of course, but also like to keep things in perspective, and the Drive was going 98 yards in the dead of Winter in the dog pound, this was a nice weather home game, no relation to me whatsover even so I get it.
Ah – THE DRIVE … I remember it like it was yesterday … last night was improbable – THE DRIVE was IMPOSSIBLE … and yet – no wonder Elway is held in such awe … his “passion” may not match Tebow’s (no way to measure for sure) – but his desire and capability are legandary … I remember the first game Elway really showed he had it – I think it was against the Colts … I could only hear updates on the radio that day – I think the Broncos were down 19 – 0 in the 4th quarter … then I heard 19 – 7 – then 19 – 14 … then there was a long gap, and I was on pins and needles … finally I heard – 21 – 19 … was that ever a great day …
One other time my wife and I were at a Trophy’s Sports Bar in San Diego – the Broncos were playing KC, and trailing by 13 in the 4th quarter … some Chiefs fan got up to leave and announced – “Broncos win by 1 – I’ve seen this game before” … everybody laughed as he left, but by God Elway brought the Broncos back and they did win by 1 … I’ll NEVER forget that …
Actually, Tebow has a long way to go with true Elway fans, but he does have a heck of a start …
All of us are miss-understood and often miss-quoted. These things don’t hurt me because I keep winning my bets on Denver. I am going to answer some criticizms however. For the record, I never said Tebow was a better passer than Orton. He is just better.
The really wonderful thing about football, it is not a reality show. It is far more real than mere scripted entertainment. The men on the field won their position by blood, sweat, tears, and guts. The great ones have stuck to their personal commitments through decades of hard work. That is the essence of character.
I take issue with those who criticize my quarterback from the superficial aspects of mechanical skills alone. Such criticism is superficial and ignores the role that character plays in the lives of all champions. Heroes of the game, like Gale Sayers, who made it so clear that the heart of the game is not about size or mechanical skills (he was more than a runner). I would rather watch Gale Sayers than a certain 6’5” quarterback. (6’5”) has not shown me anything that raises my heartbeat and I am undecided if he will ever be exciting to watch. Heroics are why I watch and why I played all those years. It was the feeling that I shared with my teammates that made the game real. If not for great things we did together, I would not be a fan today.
You, who called Tim a mere runner and suggested he is nothing else, have forced me to explain: Tebow shows that sense of passion. He reminds me of the best things I ever did on the field. It is that ability to play “over our heads” that gave meaning to the game. That is also the vital ingredient to Super Bowl excellence. Tebow has that thing which makes football important.
So what about USC, too far South for you?
Sorry, wrong blog, haha.
