A 2-yard touchdown run by Tim Tebow and Matt Prater’s ensuing extra point trimmed New England’s lead to 34-23.
The drive started all the way back at the 11-yard line, and was kick-started by back-to-back passes from Tebow to Demaryius Thomas for a gain of 22 yards.
Later, a big sack on second down left the Broncos with a third-and-18, but Tebow once again his Thomas for a 39-yard strike into Patriots territory. On the very next play, Tebow looked to be running to his left, but Lance Ball’s defender left the running back to try to contain Tebow. So Tebow simply dumped the ball off to Ball, and the back sprinted all the way to the 2-yard line.
The next play was Tebow’s 2-yard touchdown run. 8:41 remains in the fourth quarter.
