Tebow, McGahee Top 100

November 6th, 2011 - 6:15pm by Stuart Zaas

With a 60-yard touchdown burst to close the third quarter, Willis McGahee officially hit the 100-yard rushing mark on Sunday.

Tim Tebow joined him after a 28-yard carry in the fourth quarter.

It’s the first time since 1976 that a Broncos quarterback and running back both topped the 100-yard rushing mark, and the first time since 2005 that the Broncos have had two 100-yard rushers, regardless of position. As a team, Denver has 270 rushing yards on 34 carries (7.9 yards per carry) to this point.

It is the first time in Tebow’s career that he has topped the century mark, and McGahee’s fourth 100-yard game of the season.

Tebow’s 118 rushing yards represent the second-highest single game total for a quarterback in club history. Tebow now owns three of the top four single-game rushing outputs by a quarterback in Broncos annals.

He is the 18th player in Broncos history to rush for 100 yards in a single game since 1995, which ranks first among NFL teams in that span. It is the just the 16th time that a quarterback has topped the 100-yard rushing mark since 1950.
