Having spent the past four seasons in Indianapolis with Peyton Manning, newly acquired tight end Jacob Tamme knows what it’s like to play in Manning’s preferred hurry-up style of offense.
Tamme, who agreed to terms with the Broncos earlier in the day, spent the first three years of his career catching passes from Manning. In 2010, which was their last year playing together with Manning as the quarterback, Tamme set career highs with 67 catches for 631 yards and four touchdowns.
“It’s fun to play ball with him,” Tamme said about playing with Manning. “Offensively, you go into a game with a game plan that you know that you can succeed. You know that if everyone executes their job, good things will happen. He’s a great leader. I think everyone will really enjoy having him as a teammate.”
Current Broncos players curious about what it is like to play with their new quarterback can go to Tamme for a preview.
“I wouldn’t say anything different than what they already know,” Tamme said when asked what advice he’d give his new teammates. “It’s fun because Peyton expects so much out of himself that everyone else wants to play at that level too. It’s a neat thing and it’ll be fun. I think everyone will really enjoy playing the style that he brings as a leader at quarterback.”
Tamme joins former Texans tight end Joel Dreessen, who also agreed to terms with Denver today, on the club’s roster. While he said he didn’t know Dreessen personally, he does know what Dreessen brings to the team from their time spent in the AFC South Conference, and said he has high hopes for what Denver’s revamped tight end group can do this year.
“I know him from playing together in the AFC South,” Tamme said. “I know his game and I’m excited…I think we’re going to have a really good group of tight ends and I’m very excited to see the different things we can do offensively with the group.”
One current Bronco that Tamme does know well is linebacker Wesley Woodyard. The pair played together at the University of Kentucky, and Tamme is looking forward to reuniting with his former teammate.
“I’m really excited,” he said. “There was nobody that I respected more – I had a lot of great teammates at Kentucky, but nobody that I respected more during our time there than (Woodyard). I know he’s earned the respect of a lot of people in the Broncos organization already by the way that he’s played. I’m really excited that he’s back and really excited to be teammates with him again. If there are a lot of other guys like that on this squad, it could be a heck of a lot of fun this year.”

Which is sometimes why i dont post links for what i hear cause i find it on one of the other comps lol. I have a lot of time to be on here. Nothing better than talking Broncos and passing info and getting info all that stuff i love it. Lol.
couldnt agree more man, I just want the draft to come and the season to start already!
This is the most excited ive been in a while. Past couple drafts havnt excited me as much but this one is different. Theres a lot of hidden talent in this years.
I think so too, hey what ever happened to solai?
Soliai resigned with the Fish. Unfortunately. Theres no real good DTs left but theres a couple decent ones that can improve with JDR and Fox coaching them up.
i really hope we land cox or brockers..I also have some hope still for ty warren, he will be good hes just gotta stay healthy
If you saw my roster earlier then that shows my hopes lol.
yeah, I came in kind of late so i just try and sift through them to catch up, its hard to really keep up cause Ive got work and school.
Yea that makes it hard. I have us signing 3 DTs and drafting one later in the 4th. Derek Wolfe com Cincinnati.
Since Bay left AB has stepped up and keeps us all informed. Thanks AB
No problem buck. its good passing info on and receiving info that i dont know.
Its not just me too. Theres many others who pass along knowledge and info too.
I thought the FO was talking to some DTs but haven’t heard anything yet.
It was on an article on bleacher report. If i can find it on my laptop ill post it.
buck, are you suggesting that AB is the heir apparent to the blogfather throne? If so, awesome! haha
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Peyton Manning, another year older, turns 36 today.
Happy birthday to our new QB.
zGoodnight Broncos country!!! I shall have sweet dreams of waking up to Okoye being signed!!!!
lol
PUM PUM PUM…
B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS!!!
Cowboy weather… so it’s up early and to bed late till October!!!
Words of Wisdom from my Grandfather… “Careful what you wish for, Boy (His endearing term for me)…”
O’wait… it wasn’t my wishing that brought us what is left over from one of the Greatest QB’s of all time… but I’ll go down riding that train with the rest of you… Thanks for getting Tebow Traded Morons…
Only kidding about the ‘Morons’ comment… you know I love you ;o)
anyway… I drank my coffee and I’m off to check cows for calves and build some fence…
AB remind me later today, I have something funny for you…
Brian Hoyer(backup QB for NE) just resigned with the Pats. I didnt know he was available. He would have made a good backup for us.
Two more days to vote.. You can vote multiple times, just go back to the home page and click on “greatest of all time.”

Let’s get this straight since there still seems to be some confusion. John Elway didn’t trade Tim Tebow because of how he played or who he is or what he believes in. It is very simple; TT’s _fanatical_ fans are simply getting out of control. If Elway could have kept TT on the team without billboards or threats or been accused of not being a Christian for not letting start while he groomed him to be a better player, he would have. TT fans and not his skills could become his biggest inhibitor. I loved watching Tebow time but the fanatical fans surrounding him had to go. I for one could not agree more with what Elway had to do, it was the best choice for the Denver Broncos.
Well said, I agree.. It will be very interesting to see how it all goes down in NY, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing plays out with the Jets..
morning broncos country! cant wait to sign some more quality players… i think we did the right thing by waiting on the BIG NAMES like Super Mario we’ve gotten ALOT of quality starters for good value by waiting
Good Job EFX!
and just my .2: id rather have Foles as our backup, hes got good size and a strong arm Peyton could teach him alot… and plus a rookie is easy to teach than someone thats been in the league a few years like Volek or Hanie….plus Hanie blows, he ruined the bears season last year
anyone hear anything about Dawk? hopefully he resigns, i think he will he sees a good shot at a SB
I don’t know why, but i’m not really as excited as I was about the next season before the Manning signing. If we don’t win as many games as we did last year, the team plays dead, and Manning gets hurt I will be very upset. Hopefully we make the playoffs and get Champ and hopefully Dawk their rings…
Von, there was an article out this morning about Dawk. He’s still weighing the decision.
Ricky, I know what you mean, but it’s like this every year when players are traded and new ones some of us aren’t familiar with come in. I’ve got to study up on some of our recent acquisitions, myself. But the closer to the season it gets, after dealing with the roster cuts in pre-season, the more excited I get. It’s just hard sometimes when your favorite players are no longer part of the team and you have to learn a new roster.
About Dawkins coming back:

Sorry Risky, for calling you Ricky…
GoBroncos, I personally think it had as much to do with Tebow not being able to run Peyton’s style of offense, as those things you mentioned. Truthfully, there were a multitude of reasons, and people just base their own opinions to the ones they think are more significant. It doesn’t matter anymore. He’s gone, and we all need to move on. Beating a dead horse won’t bring it back to life……
Happy Birthday Peyton!!!!
Pat Sims re-signs with the bengals, the DT pool is getting smaller and smaller
Come on Okoye THomas and Laws now…..
AB, are they even talking with DTs, in FA?
Whos Laws AB
miller, apparently they’ve been talking to 4 or 5 DTs, but we have no indication as to who they are
Thats what I heard also, whos Laws that AB keeps talking about.
Although I do remember last year we all thought they would sign a bunch of DTs in free agency and they didnt, but they ended up trading for Bunk and that turned out well. Maybe they are working on a trade for someone.
Im sure they have a plan, they wont leave the position untouched
What about DTs, that are backups on other teams, not just FA, maybe their doing something like that, we definetely need some BEEF though
maybe thats why those 4 DTs that were interested in are un-named because they are still on a team and involve a possible trade
Ive gotta take kids to see Easter Bunny, I will talk with you guys later BRONC ON ROCK, BRONCO COUNTRY.
I know this sounds crazy but what do yall thing about trading up for trent richardson
it seems odd that the only TT articles i keep reading about on this sight isn’t from the “fanatic fans” but from everyone who wanted to see him go, i enjoy reading these post but please to all of you who keep posting anti tebow statements let it go already. I am and always will be a fan of his after what he did for our team, but just because you can post something negative about him now without any back lash from his die hard fans doesn’t mean the rest of use want to keep reading about it. close the book and move on. “gobroncos”
We need a RB in first 3 rounds. I like Richardson, Martin and Miller. I really like LaMichael James just because of his big play ability, and I think with the current stable of RB’s we have he would hold up well not getting a heavy workload. Kind of a Darren Sproules type role.
Alaskan Bronco, What part of Alaska do you live in out of curiosity? I was born and raised in Alaska, recently moved to Texas but am planning to move back as soon as i finish out school here.
I live in Kenai.
Laws is a DT from the Eagles.
I am against trading up for Richardson. We can get a good RB with one of the picks we have so we dont need to give up picks to grab him.
I hope that we arnt trying to trade for a DT i hate giving up picks.
Kenai, Gorgeous town, About 3 to four hours away from where i lived. I lived in Chugiak-Eagle River area about 30 minutes outside of Anchorage. Currently have a friend who lives out in Kenai…well at-least i think i do since i haven’t spoken to her for about a year now. Well awesome to see im not the only pure Alaskan Bronco fan around.
I agree that there were probably multiple reasons that led to the recent departure, as very rarely are things as simple as they appear.. Although it’s still fresh in our minds, perhaps us true Orange & Blue fans should take the high road, wish him well, and let it go…
Go Broncos! Great times ahead!
I love the way every talks junk about the Broncos organization with their outlandish grammar!!!! I love to come here and discuss how the Broncos are doing throughout the year with true football fans!!!
