With Peyton Manning in 2010, Jacob Tamme recorded a career-high 67 catches for 631 yards and four scores — all in the last 10 games of the season after fellow tight end Dallas Clark was placed on injured reserve.
Tamme knows he has a chance to put up similar numbers reunited with Manning in Denver this season — but individual goals aren’t his biggest concern with the start of training camp less than 24 hours away.
“I feel like it’s my job to do what I’m supposed to do to help the team win,” Tamme said. “Some games that might be catching 10 balls, some games it might not be catching any balls. It might be blocking more, it might be whatever. I certainly think there’s opportunity for everyone to get involved and have fun and have numbers and all that stuff, but that’s not what it’s about for me and I don’t think that’s what anybody’s real focus is on.”
The tight end didn’t shy away from addressing the high expectations surrounding the team this season, and while he isn’t worried about his personal statistics, he hopes he, Joel Dreessen and the rest of the tight end corps can help the team accomplish its goals.
“You see teams using multiple tight ends and having a lot of success with it,” he said. “We should be able to do a lot of different things, that being one of them. There’s nothing that gets you more excited than getting a chance to get out there and show what you could do and hopefully make some plays to help the team win the game.”
As for how ready the team is to go out and make those plays, Tamme said that even though the offense installed a lot during the summer, there’s still plenty to do throughout training camp.
And he can’t wait to get started.
“These next couple weeks will be really important,” he said, “and I think everyone’s looking forward to it.”

hey cat whats up? been just unreal busy around work lately. cant get a break! now as far as the player calender i’ll say lets stick to them in uniforms. HA! good to be blogging again i havent even been checking in all that much so really glad to be here.. plus not much going on with football so i focused on other stuff for awhile. but ohter stuff doesnt appear to be slowing down so i’ll just have to squeeze in when i can. should slow down bout september i hope but cant complain about all the work i guess in this economy. hope all is well with you all and lets get ready for a stellar season!!

I am excited and cannot wait for training camp updates starting tomorrow! The Broncos have waived two rookies, receiver/returner Eric Page and cornerback Coryell Judie, off their roster for medical reasons. So they are the first cuts before the camp even begins! Too bad Page looked like a good possibility to make the team as a special team returner! Looks like Decker might take that role. I would prefer someone else not as important as Decker doing this! Those of you who can actually go see the Camp live I would hope you share what you think.

Crazy day for me, just got caught up here.. Couple of things:
1) Cat – unfortunately I don’t have a link for the Osi interview, I heard on the radio while in traffic..

3) I think I read that both Ballard and Fells will start the season on the PUP, so Shiancoe might just be a stopgap, and I honestly don’t think Belichick carries them all, maybe just 4.
4) Too bad about Judie and Page.. I really liked Judie, buts let’s not forget that they were both long shots, even though many of us liked one or both of them. We’re going to have injuries, and these are two that I can certainly live with.
5) I agree that Caldwell will be one of our main returners. Hes the fastest guy on the team. I’d personally rather see Bolden be used over Decker, as I’m 100% against using your top 2 WR’s for the return game and I’ll be furious if it happens.
6) I’m actually okay with the “experts” hating on us, it’s takes away the pressure IMO. I’m sure they will all pile on board soon enough.
7) Lastly, speaking of Carolina, I have them as my sleeper pick this year. Don’t forget they drafted that LB from BC, and Ron Rivera can coach defense. They also added Tolbert to Williams and Stewart, but they’re still not better than us IMO.

Saturday I got hit by Lightning… Not directly, it hit the ground about 4 feet from me and arced over to me, WHABAM… Crazy really, and since I’ve had trouble with Vocabulary and Balance. My Girlfriend in the Tractor couldn’t even talk because she was in Shock, I ran back to the tractor like a scared Rabbit!!!
It’s been so Dry that most of the Cattle are going out early do to lack of Grass, the hay Crop was 1/3 of average and it’s really been a rough summer…
