Success After the Bye

October 18th, 2011 - 12:21pm by Stuart Zaas

Fresh off the bye week, the Broncos travel to South Florida this weekend to take on the Miami Dolphins.

Historically, Denver has fared well after the bye week with a 16-6 (.727) all-time record, which ranks third among all NFL teams since the league instituted the bye week in 1990.

Head Coach John Fox is 6-3 in his career following the bye, including a current three-game win streak.

Last season, Denver came off the bye week and beat Kansas City 49-29 in Denver.

C’mon Broncos, let’s turn this thing around beginning with this Sunday!

  2. baylinorcrush says:

This is the perfect occasion to fare well to say the least, a 0-5 team whom 79% of their fans want them to suck for Luck, LOL.

  3. baylinorcrush says:

And the blogs are now fast and furious, hopefully last minute trades too, but most likely not, Xanders is probably happy as is, all the excitement is going to have to come from the blogs I’m afraid…

    Broncos: 23
    Dolphins: 16

I don’t know who benefits more from this game the loser or the winner?
I think our guys will be jacked up for the game, fresh off the bye, and definitely wanting a win and I think that will reflect in our play. It’s been a while since I pedicted a score that had us winning but I think we’ll get our 2nd win of the season this Sunday.

Blogs upon blogs … good stuff

Like Bay says best team to play to keep our good record of winning after the bye going. They really do need to suck for luck … and they don’t have to try either … Luck would be the best thing to happen to them since Marino if he lives up to the hype. They also need a new coach … sparano is only coachign cuz they couldn’t get Harbrough … who is proving to be every good as was advertised and earning all that top dollar … But maybe its the McD effect. Maybe people just need to understand him better … so just like us in 09, after 6 weeks … teams might start to get them. But its more their D than thier O … so I dunno if u can “get” a D. Man we shoulda gotten him. Woulda been worth the top dollar lol. or he shoulda gone to miami … if he had lost there … he woulda truly been reunited with luck …. But lets not forget … A team like Carolina or Rams could end up last … team with a Future QB … and all Harbaugh is gonna have to do is trade away the farm for the next 3 or so years, to move up to get his luck. Its still a possibility. No knock to Alex Smith but I could really see Harbaugh doing that. TRB

  7. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Lotta victory predictions … dunno if thats the TT effect or if its because we are playing a team with no wins. LMAO

    TRB

  8. tag says:

TRB, I’d say a little of both.

  9. brian_schneider says:

    Both

  10. DenverOranges says:

    Moor of both!!!

lol Matt Moore is Dog $H!t

  11. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

I doubt there is a single blogger who has picked us to lose thus far.

  12. bronctario says:

HAHA! everytime I go to post a new blog has opened up! The Broncos media office must be rockin’ right now.

WEll here it is for a 3rd time…

Don’t know if you guys have talked about it in this blog yet, but I know it was brought up yesterday. This afternoon the Eagles announced Asante Samuel is on the trading block. He’s not exactly a spring chicken himself, but we’d get a few more years out of him than Goody, and he’d be great help developing our younger CB’s.

  13. baylinorcrush says:

    Correcto Mundo!

  14. baylinorcrush says:

And here is my second answer to you, haha:

Only one hour and 13 minutes now left for your wishes to come through.

  15. baylinorcrush says:

But unfortunately I hear it from good sources Xanders just went out for lunch, haha, jk.

  16. baylinorcrush says:

Royalty can you imagine that if the Dolphins win there might be not a single winner this week. I might have to go heavy on the WOS entries then, LOL.

  17. sndvl says:

I wonder if Marshall feels like he has something to prove in this match-up. I know McD not being here takes away from the storyline, but as competitive a man the beast/monster is, I’m sure he’ll be jacked!
Should be a great matchup against Champ!
I’ll bet Nolan is chomping at the bit too. Cameron Wake and Jason Taylor will keep Tebow busy all day.

I’m also curious to see how Bush fares against our D. We’ve seemed to have issues with those shifty types…

  18. bronco life says:

looks like rafeal bush from atlanta falcons took loyds spot

  19. sndvl says:

Add the fact that historically we struggle in Miami…

  20. bronctario says:

    sndvl,

Looks like Reggie may be out with a neck injury. I’m not sure they’ve given a diagnosis yet today, but he left the Monday nighter with it.

  21. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

Sorry bay stepped away for a second, that would be insane lol WOS for the entire blog LMAO!

  22. BeastFromEast92 says:

One more hour before the trade deadline..c’mon EFX trade/cut Orton, and try to get Asante Samuels and Forte!

  23. DenverOranges says:

BFE your Dreaming! but I like it

  24. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

I think somebody already beat you to that news bronco life

  25. sndvl says:

I didn’t watch the game last night. Thanks for the update Bronctario!

  26. Greatness007 says:

DenverOranges If you hear the experts talk they say” HE does throw a pretty ball though.) lol To the other team most of the time.

  27. BeastFromEast92 says:

IDK what the Hell I’m thinking,we never get what I want, when it comes to trades, like opening up a Damn chunk of coal on Christmas!!!

  28. bronctario says:

    Anytime dvl,

It wasn’t worth watching anyway. Not even to get a look at the Broncs matchup, the fins looked like they were running a half speed practice for the 2nd half. I’m sure Sparano has ‘em doin’ Up-downs all practice today to remind them that they have legs!

  29. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

I can barely understand what you post most of the time 007. What are you talking about?

  30. Greatness007 says:

Now they talking about Carson might not pass his physical. lol That would be to much for me. I would have to tap out till after the games on sunday.

  31. Greatness007 says:

DenverOranges was talking about Matt Moore. So I chimmed in thats all.

  32. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

    ok.. New blog, again

  33. Greatness007 says:

I think we gonna open up the O. That’s if Tebow looks good on the first couple of passes. They gonna try and get up 14 early. WATCH

  34. bronco life says:

this sucks having to listen to same ol raider update all week.they gave up WAY to much for a 31 year old .

  35. strandoftds says:

Do the Bears really want to trade Forte or is it just a rumor? If they do, why? Thats stupid.

  36. strandoftds says:

I`d take Forte over Samual. Matt Forte is a heck of a young strong RB and Samual is getting older.

  37. brian_schneider says:

@BeastFromEast92: When you’re 1-4 opening up a chunk of coal on Christmas seems like an appropriate gift LOL!

  38. strandoftds says:

If we got Foerte, what are we willing to give up?

  39. strandoftds says:

    Forte.

  40. brian_schneider says:

We could give up Moreno and a coditional 5th rounder that could be a 4th if Moreno eclipses 1000 yard mark in 2012. LOL!

  41. strandoftds says:

If we did trade, it`ll have to be for a young buck like Matt Forte to keep for along time, one of the few players a team can trade for to build with. He`s proven to be a solid RB I`d say. What are the Bears wanting is my concern.

  42. strandoftds says:

ESPN news says that there is been NO phone calls for RB Forte.

  43. strandoftds says:

And NFL. com says two teams are interested in FORTE. So which is it?!

  44. strandoftds says:

There`s ten minutes left and the trading is over.

  45. 1971_Bronco says:

Getting back to the “Success After the Bye” thing, Yes, all those statistics are correct, but we also have lost BIG since the bye after going 6-0 two seasons ago. Yeah, yeah, I know… that was the McD days, but we have about the same amount of wins as the 6 and 0 start since!

With that said, I am stoked about Tebow, his excitement level, his starter status with an actual team (and not the piece o’crap when McDudd was fired), and the Suck for Luck Miami campaign we’re up against. If Denver loses, the rest of the season will be painful.

  46. buck484 says:

I am looking forward to the Miami game, perhaps we will gain a victory and a boost in confidence. I look for Denver to score 27 and Miami 12. Sack by Doom in the endzone.

  47. teddy502 says:

one win at a time broncos get the ferst one and go from there
