    And it goes on:

There have been 65 passes broken up by defensive linemen this year. Orton’s broken up passes account for 10.8 percent of that total.

    That’s 32 teams folks.

  2. killerkod says:

Even Doug Flutie could get passes over defensive lineman, and he was what? 5 foot 10?

  3. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

  7. baylinorcrush says:

Doug Flutie is now with the Flutie Brothers Band where he is the drummer. Something for Orton to consider…

  8. baylinorcrush says:

Vegas has the Packers favorite by 2 TDs!

    That’s not too bad..”only” 2 TDs..

  11. baylinorcrush says:

As far as injuries, Doom could be back, same with Bailey, and Moreno and DJ will probably be ready to go this time for real. Otherwise still bad news for these guys:

Rookie tight end Julius Thomas (high ankle sprain) had a boot removed. Thomas is expected back next week for the San Diego Chargers game or after the Week 6 bye. . . . Receiver Demaryius Thomas will not practice this week because of his surgically repaired broken pinkie. He most likely will return after the bye week. . . . Defensive tackle Marcus Thomas is expected to practice on a limited basis this week for the first time since he suffered a strained pectoral in training camp. He later strained his groin.

  12. baylinorcrush says:

This is Klis’ take on “are the Packers scared”, LOL:

Buckle up that concussion-limiting helmet, Aaron Rodgers. Elvis could be in the building.

Enjoy that three-touchdown game for a few more days, Jermichael FinleyBecause there’s a possibility that come Sunday you’ll be taking on the Champ.

There. That ought to scare the Green Bay Packers.

D.J. Williams should be back this week after missing the first three games to recover from a dislocated elbow.

Running back Knowshon Moreno should also return to help Willis McGahee and the Broncos’ offense control the ball, which would help keep Rodgers and the explosive Packers offense off the field. Moreno dressed for the game Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

“In an emergency, I would have been good to go,” Moreno said. “I should be good this week. I still have to test it, though.”

If Moreno returns, he will be tested against a Packers defense that ranks No. 1 against the run. Are the Packers scared, yet?

    LMAO!!!!

  13. brian_schneider says:

I honestly think that Demaryius won’t stay healthy long enough to see any significant action or make a significant contribution to the team this season. When do you finally say enough and get rid of your glass players?

  14. baylinorcrush says:

I guess Bowlen has a real nice little display case for all his little glass figurines up in his presidential office, he is not about to let any of them go, LOL.

  15. brian_schneider says:

    Gotta collect ‘em all…

  16. seweatherman1 says:

Comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges.
Just exactly were the reasons given that Tebow was not good enough to be the starter.
    1. Throwing motion
    2. Pocket presence
    3. Reading defenses
    4. Not checking all receivers before taking off on a run

Well, let’s see, I just described Orton with the exception of #4 where he doesn’t take off and run he just gets sacked.

Ever wonder where we would be IF Tebow had been the starter these past three games?

  17. shaztah says:

Bay, my prediction is 31-16 for greenbay to win.

  18. brian_schneider says:

I think starting Tebow would force the opposing teams to account for his running ability. They know Orton will not run, except to the sidelins like a scared schoolgirl. It may force them to use a spy, thus taking someone out of coverage.
If Tebow started “we could be 3-0 or we coud be 03….”

  19. seweatherman1 says:

    Prediction:

    Orton playing entire game
    Denver 10
    GB 30

Tebow playing entire game (which we all know isn’t going to happen)

    Denver 24
    GB 21

The only reason I show this like this is because he has had NO practice with the offense.

  20. seweatherman1 says:

Bay I trust you know which one is the real prediction. We both know the other isn’t going to happen any time soon.

  21. Broncfalls says:

I”m wondering what the “locker room” temperature is at? Bay you alluded to it in the other blog when you referenced McD and how he “lost” the locker room!

As you pointed out Bay, Decker see the value in Tim being on the field, either full time or in special play packages. But I wonder if Fox is worried about losing the locker room if he puts in Tebow.

There is something obviously driving this I’m just not sure what it is. I just wonder how many Tebow supporters are on this roster and how many feel Orton gives the team the best chance to win. If that number favors Orton, is Fox really willing to lose his credibility to them because they’ll obviously feel he caved to “fan” demands. AND…..what if those in favor of Orton are key personal….

Just a concept that has been hurting my head becasue something is obviously driving this decision. Each time that Orton has a poor game performance that scream gets louder and louder…..If EFX don’t address this soon and I mean really soon….I have a feeling we’re going to log onto the home page and see a memo from Pat! LOL!

I would be willing to bet the farm that Tebow will see action vs. Green Bay. The conversation on the plane back from TN had to have been interesting!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  22. brian_schneider says:

    Prediction: 31-13 Green Bay

  23. brian_schneider says:

That prediction will probably earn me a spot ont he “Wall of Shame”

  24. seweatherman1 says:

I began thinking on these escalator clauses last night. We have it figured that Tebow could start at what point this year and be to the point where the organization will not be obligated by the clauses? Question…in calculating this starting point for him, was the consideration given for the games/snaps taken last year? If not, that will adjust his possible starting point this year wouldn’t it?

  25. baylinorcrush says:

weatherman, got you down for the Orton prediction.

And Broncfalls, in my mind, with the contracts facts in front of me, money is driving this decision right now but if it gets so bad they just might be forced to eat some of those escalators clauses up and make a change.

  26. seweatherman1 says:

    Broncfalls,
I really feel the locker room is quite cold right about now. Let’s face it. Quite a few of them were willing to do what they could to help Tebow when they learned he was their leader, but, when Orton stayed in the picture, they threw Tebow under the bus. It all falls back to who is signing the paychecks, and what that person wants said.

Just watch the tide turn if Tebow goes in as the starter, just like last year. We will see the difference in the offense and defense like night and day.

  27. dwill says:

At what point in the season will the broncos switch focus on a “win now” mind set and look toward a “rebuild” mind set?

  28. baylinorcrush says:

I hate to bring up the mondane money issues on this blog over and over, so for anyone interested in making up their own mind about it and figure out the details, go back to the Elway live premiere blog where OC and I laid it all out. I think it was Sept 20th from 7:01 pm through 8:42 pm.

  29. royalbroncofan1 says:

We could also possibly see Quinn step in for a game or two.

  30. brian_schneider says:

    new blog

  31. Lenster7 says:

I am a big fan of Elway even named my son Hunter John Elway Barrett. He’s 12 years old and really proud of his name, but we can’t figure out why Tebow’s not starting, he played good last year in the 3 starts he got as a rookie. Orton is not the future of the Broncos and if he’s are QB next year I will be very sad. When I watched Elway he was very exciting to watch so is Tebow watching Orton is a waste of my time!!!! Orton will NEVER TAKE BRONCOS TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!

  32. Lenster7 says:

ELWAY Can you honestly say Orton will be the Broncos QB next year? and if no, why are we wasting our time with Orton we are 1-2 with the Chargers and Raiders who will make sure we don’t make the playoffs, so why not see if Tebow is the future of the broncos!!!!!!!! ORTON WILL NEVER TAKE THE BRONCOS TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!

  33. kase78matt says:

how many games does kyle otron have to blow before you step in and remove him we have a solid team and orton is ruining our every chance.

  34. fanatico#1fan says:

    Go Broncos!

  35. fanatico#1fan says:

I was testing my blog entries to see if I had the right ones. I was praying for a hold out on the contract issue. I didn’t want the season to happen this year, but it is and we are going to get embarrassed.
Why Fox for head coach? We coulda had Fisher or Hazlett.
They would have fitted better at Mile High.
If Fox wants to make us a running team then we need to get bigger linemen and definitely heavier and bigger backs.
What was the idea of thinking that a small back was going to go through the middle of the stack. In the good ol days it would have been a naked boot.
Get rid of Fox. Apologize to Mike Shannahan and get him back so he can begin to rebuild the Broncos and make them Super Bowl contenders. When Pat let him go he screwed up. I believe he had the pieces in place to win the division and possibly more.

  36. stevecan2 says:

Can someone assist me on how to use twitter? lol I am trying to tweet Elway a question…. tweet. what is this world coming to. I read all of them, but it wont let me post

  37. baylinorcrush says:

You have to open up a tweeting account.

  38. 88Odoms says:

My question is, Just because Orton has more expierence why does that make him a better QB or give us a better chance to win? his past 6 years of expierence is a lossing record…Orton has more expierence than Cam Newton…would we play Orton over Cam? who would give us the best chance to win? I say it is by far Tebow time!

  39. bronco life says:

I PRAY no QUINN kyle throws enough picks already!

  40. fanatico#1fan says:

I also must add before I go that Fox has already decided this season is over for my Broncs.
So give Tebow the rest of the games. Let him get ready for next year.
    Fox is not our coach!!!!!

  41. Ty-one-on says:

Elway basically said that yes, Orton has to get better in critical situations and that they don’t want to put Tebow in until he’s ready because if he’s put in too soon and get’s hammered he’ll lose his confidence.

What a crock. He didn’t lose a shred of confidence in his 3 starts last year and he’s not going to learn nothing from riding the pine and on top of it never getting reps with the first team.

Did they already forget about his performance last year ? The whole team looked more confident and energized when he was in there.

  42. dmoody19 says:

Something for sure needs to change. I am a diehard fan, have been since Morton and Moses as the M-N-M team before Elway came in. Denver had always been the fourth quarter team, the comebacks made with Morton and then later with Elway once he settled in are too numerous to mention. The fact that it is no longer a true statement makes you wonder why we are so far off the mark now? If Orton cannot do it then quit dragging things out. Go with the newer blood and get the team back to knowing that final few minute thrills we all have had in the past when all looks lost and then comes the miracle team :-)
Really miss that old time magic. Elway you know what you need to do… just do it. Tebow has to have his time before he loses that drive just sitting on the bench. And the receivers just need to settle in and make catches and move the ball… but we already knew that :-)

  43. majorfan says:

With Elway at the end of any close game you knew that he was going to find some way to win no matter what. With Orton, even though he gives it his all, we all know that we are going to lose even when we should win. Some guys play with broken ribs and punctured lungs and some can’t play with a small finger problem and so forth… Players, even though they are good, do not help the team if they can only play one game a year or so. You might as well trade them and bring in somebody that can help the team weekly, even if they are not quite as good. Our conservative playcalling is a sign that we have no faith in Orton, so we might as well move to a winner even if his mechanics are not as good. What difference is it to lose with Tebow who can learn something, or with Orton who is as good as he’ll ever be?
