Submit Your Questions for ‘Elway Live’

December 12th, 2011 - 6:53pm by Gray Caldwell

UPDATED TUESDAY, DEC. 13 AT 9:45 A.M. MST: Due to a scheduling conflict, there will not be an Elway Live broadcast today.

Following Denver’s 13-10 overtime win Sunday, Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway will join Broncos TV’s Chris Hall for another ‘Elway Live’ show at 2 p.m. MST tomorrow — Tuesday — on DenverBroncos.com. Elway and Hall will breakdown the team’s victory over the Bears and plenty more on the live, online-streamed audio broadcast. The show is 30 minutes long and features fan-submitted questions for Elway.

Questions are currently being taken via Twitter and will continue to be taken during the show. To submit your questions, tweet using the hashtag #ElwayLive.

After the show, the broadcast will be archived to DenverBroncos.com and will also be available as a podcast through iTunes.

On 9NEWS KUSA-TV’s show Monday night, Elway addressed Bears running back Marion Barber stepping out of bounds to stop the clock late in the fourth quarter, and fumbling in overtime.

“You’ve got to have those kind of breaks,” Elway said. “When you’re on a run, a lot of times when things are going good, you’ve got to go ahead and enjoy it and make the plays that we’ve been able to make.”

Hear more of Elway’s thoughts on yesterday’s game as well as looking ahead to the Broncos’ Week 15 opponents, the New England Patriots, on ‘Elway Live’ on Tuesday.

    Keep telling yourself that.

If you wish to disprove Christianity. The issue is the resurrection. Read Simon Greenleaf. As a lawyer you will get it.

  4. alexanserg says:

I wish to prove Christianity. I would be nice, Unfortunately I just can’t. The reverse argument seems far stronger to me. And I say that in the face of the threat of eternal hell.

We are in a lot of trouble. I think I will get of and stay off til the next game. LOL

Just enough time for a prediction:

    Broncos – 20
    Pats – 17

To make a long story short, no I am on the edge of attending church just because I believe in team chemistry.

  8. alexanserg says:

Now, let’s never speak of this again. lol

  9. daddybronc says:

Read Simon Greenleafs book and then come back and say that.

You could also read Evidence that Demands a Verdict and More Evidence That Demands a Verdict, by Josh McDowell. The books are a little dated but they are what I read as a teen to help me begin working through all that I had been taught in error.

No I can not see those links. God works in mysterious ways.

I copied and pasted from the note cuz I could still see them. Seems as if maybe you can’t post 2 links in a post? Who knows.

Now this is fun football stuff to read:

LAKE FOREST, ILL. — A tough loss lingered for the Chicago Bears on Monday and coach Lovie Smith called the 13-10 overtime defeat in Denver one of the most difficult he has ever experienced.

“It’s going to sting for a while. Giving up a lead like that. … You are going to have losses, but losing games like that really hurts,” tight end Matt Spaeth said.

The plane ride home was a quiet one as the Bears tried to cope with what had happened.

“Just stunned, I would say would be the best word to put it,” Spaeth said. “Nobody thought we would have lost that game the way we did.”

“Whether it’s mental or not, it’s something that shouldn’t happen but it did. And things like that do happen. Marion would tell you … to stay in bounds, he was trying to stay in bounds, he should stay in bounds,” Smith said. “But you know sometimes trying to get a few more yards, it’s best to get down.”

Chicago Tribune columnist Steve Rosenbloom called it “stupid and bad play by the Bears.”

“First, Barber ran out of bounds to stop the clock with less than two minutes to go,” Rosenbloom wrote. “If Barber wasn’t so mind-numbingly stupid, then the Bears would’ve killed Denver’s hope and the growing belief that Tebow was born in a manger.

“But that was nothing compared to Barber’s horrific choke in overtime, fumbling inside the Denver 40, well within Robbie Gould’s range at altitude. The Broncos recovered and eventually kicked another field goal. Ballgame. Season.”

“As big as the game is this weekend coming up, there was so much fight and heart put into this past game, it is incredibly hard to walk away from,” Bears safety Craig Steltz said.

Now, that was entertaining football talk!

  20. seweatherman1 says:

The Bears will never get it. They lost…end of story. Accept it Chicago, Your team lost. PERIOD!!!

  21. baylinorcrush says:

And alexanserg and daddybronc, why don’t you guys please find a blog where you can talk about all this existentialism, religion, pyscho analysis mambo jumbo that you love to indulge in so much, and each time you want to go there just post the link and whoever wants to join you can click on it and discuss all that non football stuff ad nauseum somewhere else. Posting a couple of thoughts from time to time is one thing, but you had like four full pages of that stuff, probably over 200 posts and I have to go through all that just to see if anyone posted a score prediction and good thing I did since cody did. But man all I ask is you having a little more respect for the purpose that this Bronco blog provides, football. Thank you for understanding.

  22. baylinorcrush says:

Funny how quick things turn around in the NFL, only last year we were the team in total disarray in the AFC West, look at it now:

San Diego Chargers coach Norv Turner remains on the hot seat — as does, depending on who you believe, general manager A.J. Smith.

Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis died this season.

And the Kansas City Chiefs, after their fifth loss this season by at least 27 points, fired coach Todd Haley on Monday.

  23. josephjjp69 says:

Very funny how things turned around better them then us tho right?

  24. baylinorcrush says:

About Sunday’s game, this is what our D might have to look forward to:

If safety Brian Dawkins, cornerback André Goodman and safety David Bruton don’t play this Sunday, Brady will pick away at a Denver secondary that likely would include three rookies — Quinton Carter, Chris Harris and Rahim Moore — in some situations. And that’s a tall order when Brady already has a 100-catch wide receiver in Wes Welker and a 15-touchdown tight end in Rob Gronkowski.

Not trying to scare anyone, just matter of fact stuff.

  25. josephjjp69 says:

Idk if this was talked about already srry if so but n e 1 see how merril hoge changed his views on tebow lol

  26. baylinorcrush says:

On the other hand, the Pats have surrendered 22 sacks this season, come on Von DJ Doom.

  27. josephjjp69 says:

Yeh our secondary may look just as bad as theirs lets hope we can get our players to full health asap champ cant do it alone but he will try if he has to..

  28. josephjjp69 says:

Yeh they have given up sacks but if the original starters arent in i would think that would force the play calling to rush less n drop more into coverage for support idk could b wrong tho bc if they were able to get a rush on him then the rookies would only have to cover their man tight for only so long.

  29. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, all the media guys who are making the flip flop about Tebow were talked about here yesterday, LOL.

  30. josephjjp69 says:

O ok i was jst late in the news then lol

  31. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Thats why I only make a few christian points and move on … after reading the majority of that tho …. man, im mad I wasn’t around to throw my hat in the ring but its all good .. neither the time nor place .. this is football area … and the last thing we need is some anti tebowist coming in and saying “see, all this religious talk from tebow is already cause dissention amongst fans and ruinning he conversations on the blog” … believe me … they will take any shot they can get.

With that said … I wanna pat my self … and many other fans on the back for not giving up when they said a few things and were laughed at such as:

Start tebow, we need to see what he has and who knows he might win some games
Tebow is a great leader and his intangibles makes his team play better
Tebow can succeed in the NFL start him, what do we have to lose
Tebow can pass and get it done. Sure there will be growing pains but he will keep getting better
Bench Orton he doesn’t give us the best chance to win
Dual threat QBs are tougher to stop than single threat QBs. Play Tebow.
Players play harder when Tebow is starting. Tebow inspires them. Tebows intentisity rubs off etc…

I commend you guys … cuz the anti crowd almost laughed us off the stage. And things are looking good. Especially the comments of Players rallying around Tebow and playing better because of him … hey pretty much flushed it down the toilet as “Hogwash” …. look at us now. Not to shabby. Sure thier are complaints but not to shabby.

I read a comment on DP and what the guy said, to put it simply made sense. With all the b**ching and Moaning about all that Tebow isn’t doring right he asked.

“If when the team was 1-4 and Tebow started and I told you we would be 7-1 after that, 8-5 in command of our division, would you really ask “how?” or would you be happy and just take it”

Or something to that effect. The point being stop whinning for those who don’t like some of what Tebow is doing … not only are we relevant … we are relevant in a good way and not as a train wreck and we are possibly going to the playoffs for the first time in like 6 years when we were all but dead in the water, came off a terrible season last year and analysts predicted a bad season, when we were pretty much written out of not only Division championship but any sort of playoff birth whatsoever this year … and look at us now. stop griping and enjoy the ride. teams got alot to learn and they are learning.

Go Broncos! Later days, TRB –

    Morning Bay!

    See you this afternoon…

  33. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Ill throw a verse out there none-the-less in respect to one thing they argued about.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

    TRB

  34. codybleedsorangeandblue says:

Found myself with a little more time than anticipated and also found myself stuck in a truck with a die hard Pats fan and this is what we decided were 3 factors that could have an outcome on the game:

    Factor 1: McGahee’s Health
Factor 2: Will Dawkins and/or Goodman play?
Factor 3: How much pressure will Miller/Dumervil/Williams and company be able to put on Brady?

He is afraid of Factor 3.

  35. brian_schneider says:

Faith should be left out of professional sports.

  36. brian_schneider says:

By that I mean it doesn’t matter if your believe in God or you’re an Atheist. We can all come together and appreciate one thing and that is Denver Broncos football!

  37. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    Shneider,
Professional sports is full of faith … heck fans run on faith 24/7 … as us broncos fan should know seeing as how we were so down but are back in it. Players run on Faith. Faith transcends religion. Not unless u were refering to the religious faith. Chrisitianity is not a religion anyway … but I digress.

Go Broncos! Later days, TRB –

  38. 1nOnlyTRB says:

lol ok schnieder … u beat me to it lol. thx for explaining. TRB

  39. sndvl says:

My Bears friends are still seething! Lol. Heard the word lucky 7 more times. Lol!!!!

What an awesome win. (And a weird conversation that took place. DaddyBronco, I should apologize for calling you Travis Henry).

Seems like a good time for a movie quote- fittingly from the film Rudy- “Son, I know of two indisputable facts in life. There is a god. And I’m not him”

Now on to the Patriots. I hope the guys enjoy their day off. And come back tomorrow fresh, focused and fired up! Pull off the upset and we secure a winning record (not to mention some fringe benefits)!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!

  40. baylinorcrush says:

Morning to all, sorry I usually don’t say it but it’s implied, every morning, haha.

Yeah TRB, many of us actually said all that about giving Tebow his shot, and we were correct, the ones who were not correct are the ones who always say the organization knows better than we do so if they think Orton gives us the best chance to win this must be true, and obviously they can all look themselves in the mirror now and in unison say “bullcrap”. Then there is the one guy with a mind of his own who never says go along with whatever the organization does, but he simply says starting Tebow will set us back years, and he is of course Carnage. But as the wins in a row keep piling up, he has suddenly disappeared from the airwaves, just waiting for that first loss to jump back in and tell us how we’ve been exposed, LOL.

In the end he could very well be just as dead wrong about Tebow as he was dead right about McD. Stay tuned…. I am.

  41. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Nice. I always forget u are a Chicago native sndvl … musta been fun to laugh in their faces, especially after the team pretty much tried to take credit from the broncos and pretty much say they gave us the game. Like it wasn’t earned … mental errors and turnovers are part of the game. I do no even acknowledge their salty remarks. TRB

  42. baylinorcrush says:

Oh, and I forgot a third kind of fans, thanks for popping up sndvl haha, the Orton lovers, and those are now defeated no matter what happens next, LMAO!

  43. 1nOnlyTRB says:

lmao @ dissapeared from the airwaves lol … its ok … im pretty sure Meril Hodge will be the first as well to yell AHA when the first loss comes and pretty much forget he said he was wrong. Carnage is thinking “ive already seen a 6-0 streak blow up in our face and get exposed … wait till they catch up to us” lol. TRB

  44. sndvl says:

I certainly was wrong about Tebow and the Other QB…gosh what was his name? Lol.

Tim Tebows personal attribute of humility is inspiring.

  45. shaztah says:

WOW, just got caught up…What a night Alex and Daddy had. I am looking forward to the re-play of the game tomorrow night. I kinda feel sorry for Mr. Elway, he is trying to be so careful on his facial expressions during games. I think he even stated that he wished he could hide. LOL. I think he is seeing the progress that Tim is making and I also believe he is going to help him. I also think that it would be a good thing for him to hang around Tim in the off season and let some of his optimism, and energy rub off.

  46. baylinorcrush says:

I see it the other way around, Elway is the mentor and Tebow the pupil and Tebow needs to have as much of Elway rub off on him as he can.

And to answer your question from yesterday shaztah, if we can believe what Elway says, Tebow is growing on him as much as any of us, and if he can finish the home stretch in high fashion and win the AFC West I don’t see that Elway can do anything other than naming Tebow the Denver Broncos long term starting QB as soon as the season is over.

  47. seweatherman1 says:

Speaking of Carnage, what has happened to him and his insults? He move on to the Chiefs blog where he could support Orton?

  48. seweatherman1 says:

Bay, I don’t think Elway will do that until he gets at least this off season to work with him on his fundamentals. I just don’t see them naming Tebow as the starter. It backfired on them at the beginning of this season and they won’t make the same mistake twice.
