On 9NEWS KUSA-TV’s show Monday night, Elway said great play in all three phases has helped the Broncos win five of their last six games.
“We’re thrilled to be where we are,” Elway said. “The way the team’s playing right now — offensively, defensively, special teams, everyone’s playing hard, playing with passion and they’re playing for each other.”

He is only 57, like me, haha.
wow tsunami i think thats the very definition of getting ahead of yourself. lets see what the next 5 years brings 1st!!
Sorry John, just 56.
Agreed, I think Fox will be here for awhile.. And it will take time for Allen to learn from Fox.. Remember, Fox comes from the Bill Walsh coaching tree
Heck, Marv Levy, who was HC for the Bills coached into his later 70`s.
fox came from alot of trees including Knoll i do believe
Never happen – Allen is gone in 3 yrs. somebody else will hire him HC- Fox stays – if Broncos continue their winning ways. Both Fox and Allen unemployed if they start losing.
lbf – LOL!!! Guilty as charged… I tend to look ahead, a little too early..
i hope Allen stays cuz this new DC every year really sucks
It takes a few years until a DC becomes HC from another team. I`ll worry about that in 2014.
John Fox played football at Castle Park High School under local celebrated coaches Gil Warren and Reldon “Bing” Dawson and Southwestern College (California) in Chula Vista from 1974-1975 before going to San Diego State, where he played defensive back with NFL player & head coach Herman Edwards.
In 1983, John Fox was a member of Mike Gottfried’s University of Kansas staff, as the secondary coach. Fox followed Mike Gottfried to the University of Pittsburgh when Gottfried became Head Coach at Pitt in 1986. Fox was first the Defensive Backs coach and then was promoted to Defensive Coordinator by Gottfried. While at Pitt, Fox made some contacts with Pittsburgh Steeler coaches and when Gottfried was let go by Pitt, Fox got his first NFL coaching gig with the Steelers.
Fox began his first professional football coaching stint in the short-lived United States Football League with the Los Angeles Express.
He entered the NFL in 1989 as the secondary coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, later also holding this job with the San Diego Chargers. Fox was the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Raiders and later that of the New York Giants during Super Bowl XXXV, which they lost.
Only then did he go with the Panthers….
we must win this week cuz i will be there and i live in ND and sooo many Queen fans i will hear about it for years
66 – Yup, Fox has worked with a lot of greats, and has a lot of info in the archives..
bd – I hope you’re wrong, letting Allen go would be a big mistake.. I really think he has more to do with this defense than most think, and even had a lot of input on the draft..
Allen is a keeper.
I understand are DEFESE is playing amazing but like BAY said Tebows passing and patience in the pocket is slowly getting beter and beter each week. But on the other note how many passes were droped, eddie, johnson, help the kid out a lil bit an ceatch the ball. 4 out of 6 incompletions shouldve been caught thanks to our defense and special teams helping us out since tebow has been brought in..
thank you Bay for the Fox history
yep we need to keep Allen
His time with the Giants was under Fassel, who worked under Bill Walsh
I agree Allen is a keeper – but he has transformed the Bronco D so quickly – he’ll prolly hafta start turning away HC offers this off season.
some of daddybrocs points about a potential perfect fairy tale story in the making:
Unskilled….too young….mistake prone…injured…and too old –
and yet they are winning!!!!
gotta admit. good point. bad news broncos we will gladly be if it means we are the fairy tale super bowl winner this year..remember the broncos 2011!!!!
Allen is being groomed, I’m calling it here first…
It’s all about Pride or Shame.
Fassel was a great OC
Brees – what a class QB!
Allen is not HC material yet, plenty of bridges for him to cross to get there, this is just his first stint as DC.
oh-Man…I love watching Eli get spanked!!!
Sean Payton was Fassel’s OC for that Giant team. He made Kerry Collins look good
isnt smile one of the many handles of u know who?
i totally agree daddy
To each his own, was simply answering your questions, good luck wherever you go.
db – he may get offers, but that doesn’t mean he’s gonna take them.. He went from being a secondary coach, to DC, to HC in 3 years??
He knows he’s not ready yet.. And Fox is the guy to teach him all he has learned throughout his long career, which is invaluable
?????
i cant help but think of the ol saying “dont let the door hit you on the way out”…..
nice blogging w/you i am out
I think he is just looking for cheerleaders.
So am I but probably for different reasons, LOL.
maybe i’m being partial but i think this blog RULES
Smile High – the guessing game is an educated guessing game that armchair QB’s can indulge themselves in Bronc football and yet compete. It’s fun.
where on the web can you go and get only one kind of fan anyway? smack. and smack again.
Ouch – earned injury – that hurt.
me too lou.
lol @ bay
Well, we’ve been here for a long time, I guess it can be pretty overwhelming for young bloggers cutting their teeth at it, not that this particular blogger is young or inexperienced just saying in general.
I’m new, and I like it here.. Good, knowledgeable Bronco fans – what else do you need???
amen tsunami
Jacobs reminded me of Knowshon dancing like that, down by 11 points…
Some people like less arguing back and forth and I always tell them to look at the message board on this site, they have a blog called orange colored glasses and it is only for bloggers who have positive things to say about the Broncos and it is severely moderated for it, not sure if it’s still there, but maybe more your cup of tea Smiley.
Oooo. TE’s on offense – that’s a dimension we need. Oh yeah – our QB does that…LOL
ya but that would be kinda boring
I would get the boot in 10 seconds flat, LOL.
lbf – you live in nola? why not a saints fan?
