I thought Quinn was next man up what happened there? LOL
They all lied!!!
That’s great news!!!!!
All speculation. They just assumed and think that they have all the answers. THEY WERE WRONG!
We`re going to win some games now, just wait and see.
well….it took a while but the Broncos have become a running punchline in the NFL
one of my favorite lines of the weekend
“You only have a quarterback controversy when you have two GOOD quarterbacks, Denver doesn’t have any”
another one I liked
“….I am tired of people calling Tebow a “winner” he has only won ONE game”
also interesting was the comment
“….we all know Tebow can run the football, but the quarterbacks main function is to pass. What happens when Tebow has to throw the ball?”
and now Brady Quinn just leaves…..HILARIOUS!!!!
Very funny Carngebronc. Are you still behind your team?
We know a winner when we see one. Orton is a loser!!
Whats the matter, you can`t handle the truth?!
How can anyone in their right mind root for a boring wooden indian statue QB in the pocket that fumbles the ball on a routine basis? I call that insanity.
Everybody was wrong, even EFX. Well not everybody, we had a real strong contingent here all along who told EFX that Orton was not the answer, so here goes the myth that fans don’t know any better, LOL.
Better late than never, the Denver Broncos organization motto for years now.
Now we will find out what I always thought we should, if Tebow can be the guy so we can line up next year draft smartly.
I don’t even care about this season as far as record goes or anything like that.
I care about this moment in our history because now we are moving forward again, coming out of stagnation, a huge day for our future, whether it will include Tebow or not. At least we will know by season end. Before with Orton we knew nothing, like sailing a ship without a destination. It was gruesome.
Thanks Fox was coming around.
Thanks Mr Bowlen for being willing to deal with whatever escalators there may be.
You have restored some of my beliefs in how this organization is run, and for that I think #1 I gotta thank Mr Elway.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I’m interested to know if the offense will look like the Tebow offense of last year or will they allow him to grow in the passing game a little more. Obviously TT needs to improve there but I think they should open it up a little assuming we will continue to improve in the run game.
Thanks Fox for coming around, meant.
I somewhat agree with you Bay….the problem is…the team knew that Orton wasn’t the answer, that Tebow ISN’T the answer and that Quinn is just a question.
Realistic opinion, this team will continue to play poorly with Tebow at the helm, especially with teams being able to gameplan for him. we still lack talent at all the other positions. So that puts us in a quandry again at the end of the season. The fans are so TEBOW CRAZY that they can’t see past him. So if he doesn’t “lead the team” to wins. Do you attempt to cut him? What do you do when you let the inmates run the asylum. The team is handcuffed by Tebow and his popularity. Surely Tebow supporters will say, this is only his first year as a starter….he needs an offseason. So do you not draft a guy because of that? Do you build a team around him to give the “fans” what they want.
I watched the game….what is funny is that the throws that Tebow made, if made by Orton, he would be getting KILLED today. I read someone credit tebow with getting the team good field position. HUH? Did anyone notice that McGahee ran for 28 yards to get us in scoring range. And until the screen, Tebow didn’t complete a pass? He under or over threw EVERYONE. His “leadership didn’t get us in scoring position at the end, the fact that SD was playing a ridiculously soft zone did. 3 man rush everyone dropped miles off. I just think that Tebow hysteria causes fans to truly become fanatics and that this Tebow situation has the potential to put this team in the doldrums for a mighty long time. People overlooked his 3 and outs. It was just odd.
People are really overlooking the fact that our defense can’t stop anyone. The Bolts haven’t scored in the red zone all year, and especially struggle without Gates. It is what it is though. Tebow gets two weeks of practice. So let’s see how the “winner” does against Miami.
I wouldn’t say EFX was wrong for going with Orton to begin with. They felt with Doom healthy and Von drafted on D, that Orton could possibly lead us to wins like he did when we started the season 6-0 in McD’s first year. That 6-0 team was undefeated because of our defense and Orton managing the game well.
Turns out Orton couldn’t perform, despite our much improved defense. Therefore EFX reevaluated the situation and realized a change needed to be made. So I understand and respect their reasoning for what they did but I’m glad they decided to cut their losses when things didn’t go as planned.
I’m excited for all of our WRs to be healthy. Tebow will have a plethora of weapons now, especially if DThomas ever is healthy for more than a day. I know most of us have written him off but he could be a pleasant surprise.
So what’s our next daily argument going to be about with Orton gone lol
Today is once again a great day to be a Bronco’s fan. I am so very proud of the Broncos again! For the longest time I thought there was a serious lack of testicles playing the obviously mediocre Orton. Not realizing that we need to know what we have in Tebow. Now anything can happen. Tebow can stink up the joint and we’ll know for sure we need a QB in the draft, or he can show even more promise than he already has, and we can build around his strengths. Whatever the case may be, we have a heading towards becoming a great team again. By knowing your present you can prepare for your future.
GO BRONCOS!
And what is the Tebow offense of last year? That confuses me. Aside from the Houston 2nd half, the offense regressed with him at the helm. He didn’t even complete 50% of his passes. I need someone to explain these things to me. Maybe I am slow, or watching different games. I honestly want someone to give me CONCRETE facts as to why we will be better with Tebow in the NFL (not at Florida).
Carnage-
I don’t know if we will be better with Tebow. I do know that we aren’t good with Orton. With Tebow at least we have a chance to improve and if we don’t, then we can address the QB position in April.
Easy Atwater! Just like Orton had Tebow on his coattails, Tebow has Luck on his!
Carnage: The offense with TT in there last year was scaled back with regards to passing. There were alot more plays designed to keep the ball on the ground including Tebow carrying the ball. They need to find out if he can play from the pocket. Does that make sense?
Hopefully this Orton benching sends a
Message to the entire team. No position is safe. You play. Play good. Or you ride pine.
But Fox likes to run the ball so Tebow might play out well in his offense.
Carnage I think we already agree on this point.
Too bad we have no one to replace Goodman. He plays bad, but our backup corners play just as bad
raidr I can ride with you on that…your perspective is fine….but there are many that make it seem like we were the Saints or Pats with Tebow at the helm last year and that is not the case. What I do realize with some folks is that Tebow can do no wrong and Orton can do no right. I want this team to fix teh overall talent level. My thought period.
Carnage: I was one of the people supporting the decision to strat Orton this year but he has played so poorly that we all agree that it’s time for a change. We know what we have with Orton but not really with TT. I’m quoting Prime Time here but Tebow gives us hope at least. Don’t forget how horrible John Elway was at first.
Carnage,
I think you love Orton’s win-loss record and would rather stick with him? All we are saying is we need to figure out what we got in Tebow.
1. What if he stinks up the joint and we go 0-11? We address the QB situation in the draft.
2. What if he wins some games, improves and shows promise? We address all the other glaring needs and continue to rebuild.
The main point here is, without knowing you can’t really rebuild for the FUTURE.
Go Broncos!
I meant start Orton*
I am glad Tebow has been named the starter but i will be realistic. He will miss passes he will throw interceptions he will fumble he will be sacked. He is only in his 4th game starting so i will give him time. Orton was doing it for seven years and while he is not the worse i have seen he is far from the best and i wish him luck wherever he may go next season.
I have never been more in to a game then I was when Tebow brought us back in the 4th QTR best game I have ever seen live. I miss the mile high city all ready. Go Tebow baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elway had 5 seasons where he threw equal or more INT than TD but he was a leader he was clutch and he was the greatest athelete to play QB these are things i see in Tebow
No one is expecting TT to come in and be the saviour………..
But the thing that I appreciate now is that by the end of the season, we’ll all know what we have in TT. With Orton continuing to start, we could never really evaluate Tebow.
This year’s record doesn’t really concern me anymore either…….I mean, barring a miracle, we’re no where near the playoff picture, so I think this is by far the most logical and rational decision this regime has made thus far.
Let’s evaluate…………….either way it’s PROGRESSION, not REGRESSION!
And has anyone even seen Aaron Rodgers throwing motion before it was awful but he fixed it and is doing well now
and I’m not a Tebow lover or a orton hater………..I just evaluate it as I see it……….and orton’s shown me zilch……….and tebow’s really yet to show. I have no problems being hard on him either if he doesn’t perform or at least show signs of development.
For the SEC fans on board, its trivia time:
So with the addition of Quinn Johnson, we now have an LSU player on our team. We havent had many that stayed for more than a few weeks (Chevis Jackson, for example) but we had a particular LSU player that was drafted in 04 and stayed with the Broncos for a season. He is now the team’s dentist. Can you name him?
Also speaking of LSU, if we can hold off for a few years there is a particular LSU CB that is a ball magnet. He goes by the name Honey Badger. If you dont know who I am talking about look him up, the man is a BEAST. He already has LSUs school record for most fumble recoveries in a career and he is just a sophomore and was a nickelback last year.
All right DenverOranges….glad you had a good time!
My brother said everyone went crazy during 2nd half!!! Saw it on tv.
Did you make it to the Bronco barn?
You Ortonintes make me laugh. Yall had your glory under the sun now it`s Tebows time. Scratch that, it`s more like your glory unerd a DARK CLOUD. Blah, Blah, Blah!! Enough already.
Matt Mauck !!!
So, we are giving Tebow 11 games to prove he can play? Why did Orton get 2 1/2 years here and 5 somewhere else? Tebow will of course makes mistakes because the coaches are trying to change him so much BUT It is going to be a process and he will not let his team mates give up. He will improve and I just hope that what Fox says is true, that he see’s Tim as a great athelete who is only going to get better. The more practice Tim gets the better he will be. He is the type that has to learn by doind not by watching. I have to admit after the first 2 games I did not have the heart to watch any more games, I even watched the first game in slow motion LOL. When I found out that Tebow took over I tuned it in. I got so excited about the possibilities that I was screaming and jumping up and down. I can’t wait to feel that again and if I had an extra 300.00 I would go to tha Miami game since I only live 3 hours away. My hubby has cerebral palsy and he would absolutely love to see Tebow play.
I just hope Tebow shows us something one way or the other. Nothing would be worse than having uncertainty again at the end of the year in which we are reluctant to give him the keys for good or to go draft someone else
Mauck is on the sidelines during home games as team dentist.
Shaztah, That would be a wonderful game to remember, to go see Tim Tebow start against the Dolphins and his Florida team being honored. I`d sure like to see it.
RBF – Impressive. I think it is worth noting that LSU won in 2003 and in 2007 (4 year gap) and now another 4 years has passed and they are 6-0 with no signs of stopping. I was a freshman that 2003 season.
So I am assuming you know who the Honey Badger is RBF?
I’m sure we’ll all see Orton sulking on the sidelines…….not trying to help TT at all since he’s the man who took his job.
News flash to Orton………You lost it all on your own buddy!
At what time is the press conference scheduled for?
Tyrann Mathieu… you got me on that one cbob. Had to look him up.
Story on Mauck was on local news sometime back.
People say Orton will sulk…but Tebow never cheered on the sidelines….never used that “leadership” from over there
Your lying to yourself dude, get over it.
Let the kid prove himself… Orton proved what he can do, now it is Tebow’s turn.
The real question here is what to do with Orton?
My suggestion is trade him back to the Bears (who will need him before the season is over) for Jordan Miller DT off their practice squad and a 4th round pick.
